Generation Z\u27s perception of privacy on social media: Examining the impact of personalized advertising, interpersonal relationships, reference group dynamics, social isolation, and anxiety on self-disclosure willingness
Research background: Consumers frequently exchange personal data for limited benefits from digital services, despite privacy concerns. This data enables digital providers to tailor content and enhance marketing communication, and digital services\u27 effectiveness and efficiency.
Purpose of the article: Utilizing the principles of privacy calculus theory, this study aims to identify how attitudes towards advertising (ATT), perception of advertising credibility (CRE), consumer susceptibility to interpersonal (II) and reference group influence (RGI), social isolation (SI) and social anxiety (SA) influence the willingness of Generation Z to disclose personal information on social media derived from the Generation Z privacy concerns (PC) and develop a prediction model for such behavior.
Methods: Data was gathered using an online self-administered questionnaire from a sample of 451 Generation Z individuals. A non-random convenient sampling technique and binary logistic regression were used to quantify the influence of selected independent variables on the dispersion of values in the dependent variable under investigation.
Findings & value added: The results highlight that Generation Z\u27s self-disclosure willingness on social media is significantly influenced by attitudes toward advertising and consumer susceptibility to reference group influence. The effect of social isolation was also close to the required level of statistical significance. It means that positive attitudes towards advertising and high susceptibility to influence from reference groups enhance the probability of personal information disclosure. Being one of the few studies to address factors that influence the willingness of Generation Z to disclose personal information on social media, this study stands out for its holistic approach. Thus, combining various interconnected elements provides a fresh perspective to comprehend the intricate dynamics of Generation Z\u27s relationship with privacy on social media
Promotion as an instrument for developing demand for transportation services taking into account sustainable development
The transport sector is a key sector for sustainable development due to the benefits it brings both to society and to the economy as a whole, which can be achieved while minimizing its negative effects on society, economy and the environment. The main purpose of this article is to analyse the promotional instruments used in the transport service market to shape demand with sustainability in mind. These topics are extremely important because access to information is very fast and it is easy to develop a good and bad opinion in society about the proposed solutions. A growing public not only pays attention to the quality of the services provided, but also to environmental protection measures, charitable activities organized or support for local initiatives. Awareness among the public is growing and everyone pays attention to equal treatment and rewards for commitment to not only economic, but also social or environmental objectives. Competition is growing, and building a good image and lasting relationships with satisfied consumers can change their motivations
Design thinking as a concept for inspiring innovation
The article presents information on the method of creating and implementing innovative solutions in the form of new products, innovative technologies, services, strategies, processes, educational programs and even business models, among others. The method of Design Thinking was characterized as a method of design thinking that supports the development of innovations and providing a guarantee of out-of-the-box solutions, juxtaposed with examples of how to use the knowledge gained in professional practice. Modern companies are increasingly competing with each other in the battle for the customer, using various techniques to do so. One such technique is the concept of design thinking (Design Thinking). The article introduces the essence of Design Thinking and describes the activities of the various stages with an indication of selected tools
Enhancing of the partnership capacity of local communities: Scientific and practical approaches
The aim of the article is to analyse and assess the main scientific and practical approaches regarding the increase of partnership capacity of local communities. In particular, an assessment of the level of partnership capacity of the Transcarpathian region communities was carried out on the basis of semistructural interviews with the heads of local communities of the region. The main stimulating and destructive factors preventing the partnership relations development in communities with other subjects, in particular representatives of business and the public sector, have been identified. It was determined that when justifying strategic directions of partnership activation in local communities, the key element would be the deepening of synergy between all participants of partnership relations. The main directions of partnership activation in communities with a high, medium and low level of partnership capacity are suggested. On the basis of the analyzed experience of the activity of public organizations and the implementation of grant projects, tools are proposed for establishing effective partnership cooperation between communities and businesses and creating better conditions for conducting entrepreneurial activities in communities
The current state of sustainable debt instruments’ market in Poland
The Polish market for sustainable debt instruments cannot be compared to the European Union one, however it is slowly growing. In order to conduct further research on these innovative instruments in the context of the challenge of sustainable changes in the economy, it is necessary to determine the current state of the market and its perspectives. The aim of this article is to analyze the situation in the sustainable debt instruments market in Poland, meaning primarily green bonds market. The subject of the study is the number and volume of emissions, entities present in the market, as well as an attempt to define future perspectives has been made. The work is based on the analysis of source documents, reports and press releases from issuers and investors, as well as published previous market analysis. Research is limited notably by access to information. Some issues may not be included due to the lack of official announcements. The results show that starting from 2016, there have been at least 43 emissions by entities operating in various economic sectors, including financial and energy sectors. The market in Poland exhibits a lack of clear, upward trajectory
A control algorithm to follow the limitations of an electric vehicle motor using the Tm4 Sumo drive as an example
The article discusses development work on the control system of an electric vehicle considering the limitations of the TM4 Sumo power unit. Particular attention was focused on the development of a new algorithm for controlling the final phase of braking (using a retarder) at low speeds, using proprietary regulators based on the prediction of braking force values. The developed algorithm is universal (works with various drive units) automatically adjusting the setting values. At the same time, the authors paid particular attention to the elimination of the phenomenon of oscillation of the engine torque value in the final phase of braking and the synergy of the classic braking system of a commercial vehicle with electric drive braking. The article also discusses proprietary tools and software for monitoring and collecting measurement data from electric vehicles. The control algorithm is one of the products offered on the market as a solution provided by the DIGA Civil Partnership. The presented results were collected from real objects as part of implementations carried out by the authors
Influence of elements fastening system type SB for chosen exploitation parameters
The paper presents a comparative analysis of the clamping force on the operating parameters of the SB fastening system. An overview of used elastic fastening systems for prestressed concrete sleepers is presented. The results of laboratory research carried out in accordance with the applicable European standards of the PN-EN 13481 and PN-EN 13146 series are described synthetically. Specially prepared clamp type SB with different stiffness within the range allowed by PKP PLK S.A. were selected for the tests. All tests were done in accredited laboratory. The paper presents the impact of the SB clamp stiffness on the basic parameters of the fastening system, such as the clamping force and longitudinal resistance. A reduced value of the static stiffness of the clamp may fail to fulfill the requirements of the fastening system shown in the Technical Specifications for Interoperability. The risk of non-repeatability of the SB clamp should lead to the development of a solution or even a change to the W-type fastening system
Methods of classification and evaluation of LSP services - in a turbulent environment
The article represents subsequent part of the cyclical publications of the Laboratory of Economics and Accessibility of Transport (former Department of Economic Research). There is a large variety of services offered by companies operating in the LSP sector (transport, forwarding and logistics) in Poland. These companies differ in size, organizational structure, ownership, and business model. There are many companies that provide only one type of logistics services, e.g. transport, warehousing, contract logistics, and many entities that offer a wide range of logistics services. In Poland, the LSP sector is currently undergoing profound transformations, which are the result of post-pandemic changes, restrictions of the current war in Ukraine and the implementation of the so-called Mobility Package, which affect not only the condition of individual companies, but also dismantling or transforming the existing supply chains. However, there is still no uniform method of classifying and evaluating LSP services that would be widely applicable and would ensure comparability of results according to specific criteria. The aim of the article is to review the existing classifications and methods of evaluating LSP services and to propose our own taxonomy considering the changes and trends observed in the Polish LSP sector. The article presents definition of logistics services, their components and evaluation criteria. The analytical part discusses the structure of companies providing these services on the Polish LSP market. Empirical results for the strategic segmentation of the LSP sector are presented. The authors presented methodological problems of analysing and presenting the results of LSP units. They also proposed their own balanced method of ranking LSP companies. To this end, they reviewed the available ranking methods. Considering the identified limitations and the results of the study of correlations between indicators used to create publicly available LSP rankings, a new method was proposed, indicating the way of selecting evaluation measures. Economic measures belonging to various groups of analysis used in the economic analysis and assessment of the investment potential of LSP companies were considered. In the proposed method of ranking LSP companies, the authors also considered the fleet emissivity measure, which is of particular importance among the still dominant transport sector on the Polish LSP market
