Use of information and communication technologies for the quality of teaching management
Get PDFThe adaptability of instruments and tools within the educational process is outlined with the purpose of directing and carrying out innovative actions that raise educational quality towards the achievement of training purposes. From there, the general objective of the research was to analyze the use of information and communication technologies for the quality of teaching management at the Pedro Luis Calero Municipal School, province of Pichincha, Quito canton, Ecuador. It assumed the positivist paradigm, quantitative approach, in a field study, descriptive, non-experimental and transversal level. The population was made up of fifteen (15) classroom teachers. The survey was used as a technique and as an instrument a questionnaire of twenty-four (24) items with response alternatives always, almost always, sometimes, almost never and never, validated in its content by the judgment of experts and with high reliability with the method. Cronbach's Alpha internal consistency, and descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data. From there, it was concluded that teaching management does not reach quality standards, it does not use ICT, which is limiting to achieve various indicators in this scenario. Teacher training is recommended to managers for the continuous improvement of pedagogical practice.La adaptabilidad de instrumentos y herramientas dentro del proceso educativo se perfila con el propósito de encaminar y efectuar novedosas acciones que eleven la calidad educativa hacia el logro de propósitos formativos. De ahí, la investigación tuvo como objetivo general analizar el uso de las tecnologías de información y comunicación para la calidad de la gestión docente en el Colegio Municipal Pedro Luis Calero, provincia de Pichincha, cantón Quito, Ecuador. Asumió el paradigma positivista, enfoque cuantitativo, en un estudio de campo, nivel descriptivo, no experimental y transversal. La población estuvo conformada por quince (15) docentes de aula. Se utilizó la encuesta como técnica y como instrumento un cuestionario de veinticuatro (24) ítems y con alternativas de respuestas: siempre, casi siempre, algunas veces, casi nunca y nunca, validado por expertos y con alta confiablidad con el método de consistencia interna Alfa de Cronbach, y como análisis de los datos se utilizó la estadística descriptiva. De allí, que se concluyó que la gestión docente no alcanza estándares de calidad, no hace uso de las TIC, lo cual es limitante para alcanzar diversos indicadores en este escenario. Se recomienda a los directivos la capacitación docente para la mejora continua de la práctica pedagógica
Community participation: Consideration from a university experience
Get PDFThis article has the intention of referencing an experience in communities located in Cabudare, in the municipality of Palavecino Lara state, Venezuela. The interest in the subject of community participation arises from our university work, in the area of extension, which involves building a permanent interaction with the communities and in that transit the needs of these numerous social groups are noted. One of the important aspects, among others of great relevance for the achievement of purposes at the community level is community participation and we believe that the university, through the substantive function of extension, has the mission to link with the communities around it, with the intention of contributing through training and learning in the construction of transformational community leaderships that tend towards resilience and sustainability. Key aspects related to participation such as: education, transformational leadership, resilient and sustainable communities were analyzed and discussed.Este artículo tiene la intención de referenciar una experiencia en comunidades ubicadas en Cabudare, en el municipio Palavecino del estado Lara, Venezuela. El interés por el tema del liderazgo y la participación comunitaria surge a partir del trabajo universitario, en el área de extensión, lo cual implica construir una interacción permanente con las comunidades y en ese transitar se constatan las necesidades de estos numerosos grupos sociales. Uno de los aspectos importantes, entre otros de relevancia para el logro de propósitos a nivel de las comunas es la presencia de liderazgos transformacionales que promuevan la participación comunitaria y la universidad a través de la función sustantiva de la extensión, tiene la misión de vincularse con las comunidades de su entorno, con la intención de contribuir a través de la formación y el aprendizaje en la construcción de liderazgos transformacionales comunitarios que tiendan hacia la resiliencia y la sostenibilidad. Español The collective being as an epistemological foundation in the research training of the new military citizen
No full textEl artículo analiza el concepto de Ser Colectivo como fundamento epistemológico en la formación investigativa del nuevo ciudadano militar, desde una perspectiva filosófica y educativa que responde a los desafíos contemporáneos de la seguridad de la nación. El estudio se desarrolla bajo el paradigma cuantitativo, mediante una investigación documental de nivel descriptivo y diseño bibliográfico, utilizando el análisis de fuentes doctrinarias, filosóficas y educativas. Se examina el papel del sujeto militar como agente corresponsable en la construcción de la nueva venezolanidad, articulando valores republicanos, conciencia histórica y compromiso cívico-militar. Los hallazgos evidencian la necesidad de redimensionar el Ser Militar desde una perspectiva ética y pedagógica, desmitificando los paradigmas tradicionales de la investigación en la educación castrense y proponiendo una nueva visión formativa para el ciudadano militar del siglo XXI. Se plantea una propuesta decolonial que promueve la excelencia y la virtud como pilares para la reflexión histórico-crítica y el pensamiento lógico-prospectivo, necesarios en el liderazgo castrense.This article analyzes the concept of Collective Being as an epistemological foundation for the investigative training of the new military citizen, from a philosophical and educational perspective that responds to contemporary challenges to national security. The study is developed under a quantitative paradigm, using descriptive documentary research and a bibliographic design, employing the analysis of doctrinal, philosophical, and educational sources. It examines the role of the military subject as a co-responsible agent in the construction of the new Venezuelan identity, articulating republican values, historical awareness, and civic-military commitment. The findings demonstrate the need to redefine Military Being from an ethical and pedagogical perspective, demystifying traditional paradigms of research in military education and proposing a new formative vision for the 21st-century military citizen. A decolonial proposal is put forward that promotes excellence and virtue as pillars for historical-critical reflection and logical-prospective thinking, essential for military leadership
La percepción pragmática del acto del habla al solicitar: el caso de los estudiantes de la ULA
Get PDFLa presente investigación tiene como objetivo explorar cómo los estudiantes de inglés como lengua extranjera (EFL) de la Universidad ULA perciben el acto de habla al solicitar. El autor describe el sentido en que los estudiantes encuentran un grupo de enunciados en términos de idoneidad al solicitar algo; y además, intenta comprender cómo el contexto social se refleja en sus elecciones. Desde el punto de vista metodológico, sigue un enfoque mixto en el que 7 estudiantes se ofrecieron voluntariamente para brindar sus ideas sobre la idoneidad o no idoneidad de un grupo de situaciones de solicitud. El instrumento para recolectar datos fue un cuestionario abierto que siguió una escala de Lickert de 1 (muy inadecuado) a 5 (muy apropiado), y donde los estudiantes pudieron justificar sus respuestas. Entre las conclusiones se encuentra que: los estudiantes tienden a ser muy formales al solicitar algo a los profesores, y muy neutrales o arbitrarios al hablar con sus pares.The present research aims to explore how the speech act of requesting is perceived by students of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) at ULA University. The author describes how students find a group of utterances in terms of appropriateness when requesting something; and also, tries to understand how the social context is reflected in the ULA students’ choices of requests. From the methodological point of view, it follows a mixed-method approach where 7 students volunteered to provide their insights regarding the (in) appropriateness of a group of requests situations. The instrument to collect data was an open-ended questionnaire that follow a Likert scale from 1 (very inappropriate) to 5 (very appropriate), and where the students were able to justify their answers. Among the conclusions, it was found that students tend to be very formal when requesting something from professors and very neutral or bossy when talking to their pairs
Presence and reminiscence in the pop art of Jamie Lee
Get PDFSe propone la tesis de que en el arte pop de Jamie Lee, la obra de arte equivale a su tipificación, en cuanto representación del ícono, como percepción (presente) y a su inscripción en nuestra memoria como contemplación (o reminiscencia). A través de un ensayo filosófico, se observan tres pinturas recientes del artista, teniendo como encuadre la teoría de Ferraris (1999) acerca de la relación entre memoria e imaginación. Las conclusiones validan la tesis inicial, pues se argumenta que, dado que en su origen, percepción (theorema) y contemplación (mnemoneuma) se realizan sobre la base de una representación que no se diferencia de la de la memoria, lo que tenemos, al final del día, es la temporización de una obra tipificada como presentación sensible (los acrílicos de Jamie Lee) y su inscripción y retención como presentación inteligible (los recuerdos asociados a la figura de Ziggy; la evocación de la imagen del famoso 01:43 m. del video de Take On Me; y el contexto de Outta Time como filme ícono del cine pop o las reminiscencias de la película y de la matrícula del vehículo que hace las veces, solapadamente, de título del acrílico). Queda pendiente rehacer la pregunta por la “esencia” de lo “latinoamericano” en el arte, y poner, por lo mismo, a prueba las nociones idiosincrásicas de factura antropológica –cuando no geológica- de las obras, de sus estilos y de sus imaginarios.The thesis is proposed that in Jamie Lee’s pop art, the work of art is equivalent to its typification, as a representation of the icon, as perception (present) and its inscription in our memory as contemplation (or reminiscence). Through a philosophical essay, three recent paintings by the artist are observed, taking as a framework Ferraris’ (1999) theory about the relationship between memory and imagination. The conclusions validate the initial thesis, since it is argued that, given that in their origin, perception (theorem) and contemplation (mnemoneuma) are carried out on the basis of a representation that is no different from that of memory, what we have, at the end of the day, is the temporization of a work typified as a sensitive presentation (Jamie Lee’s acrylics) and its inscription and retention as an intelligible presentation (the memories associated with the figure of Ziggy; the evocation of the image of the famous 01:43 m. from the Take On Me video; and the context of Outta Time as an icon film of pop cinema or the reminiscences of the film and the license plate of the vehicle that serves, underhandedly, as the title of the acrylic). The question of the “essence” of the “Latin American” in art remains to be rethought, and therefore the idiosyncratic notions of anthropological –if not geological- notions of the works, their styles and their imaginaries must be put to the test

Get PDFLa sociedad actual es hiperactiva, estimulante y hedonista, magnifica el momento presente, las experiencias gratificantes que vive y la conectividad constante que posee con su entorno, los dispositivos tecnológicos y el Internet se han vuelto su gran aliado ofreciendo la disponibilidad y presencia en el mundo digital a tan sólo clics de distancia, ya sea de modo pasivo, educativo, interactivo y social. No obstante, este fácil acceso y gratificación inmediata ha llevado a que el sistema de recompensas del ser humano se active constante y potencialmente, trazando un bucle dopaminérgico, el cual, a su vez, causa un conjunto de conductas diferentes entre sí con un potencial adictivo y repercusiones sobre la salud biológica, psicológica, social, sexual y funcional. Dicha situación se ha normalizado siendo los niños y adolescentes los principales afectados, puesto que, al estar en pleno desarrollo, no poseen el control de sus impulsos y, por ende, crean un grado de dependencia y adicción significativo a las nuevas tecnologías, con la consecuencia de alterar el curso normal de la vida.Today's society is hyperactive, stimulating and hedonistic, it magnifies the present moment, the rewarding experiences it lives and the constant connectivity it has with its environment, technological devices and the Internet have become its great ally offering availability and presence in the digital world just clicks away, either passively, educational, interactive and social. However, this easy access and immediate gratification has led to the human being's reward system being constantly and potentially activated, tracing a dopaminergic loop, which, in turn, causes a set of different behaviors with addictive potential and repercussions on biological, psychological, social, sexual and functional health. This situation has become normalized, with children and adolescents being the main victims, since, being in full development, they do not have control of their impulses and, therefore, create a significant degree of dependence and addiction to new technologies, with the consequence of altering the normal course of life
Phenomenological vision of social responsibility from the perspective of the managers of venezuelan private universities
Get PDFLas universidades juegan un rol significativo en la responsabilidad social como agentes de generación y difusión de conocimientos para dar cumplimiento a la función social en su entorno, para la beneficiosa retribución social con visión holística articulada de proyectos de desarrollo social sustentable. De allí, surge esta investigación la cual tuvo por finalidad vislumbrar desde una visión fenomenológica, la responsabilidad social, bajo la óptica de los gerentes universitarios de las instituciones privadas venezolanas con la intencionalidad de develar los significados atribuibles por sus versionantes en función de la praxis aplicada en la gestión. En la misma se asume un paradigma interpretativo, enfoque cualitativo, abordado por el método fenomenológico, con actores clave rectores de tres (3) escenarios universitarios privados. Para recabar la información se aplicó un guion de entrevista estructurado y el análisis se desarrolló bajo un proceso de triangulación de donde emergieron los hallazgos significativo que comprendí desde mi postura la concepción de las universidades privadas venezolanas en su enfoque social tienen tipificado dentro de su filosofía de gestión una visión con elementos sustantivos, en el que convergen la responsabilidad social del marco de referencia de la identificación en escala de valores que la caracterizan como agente impulsador de cambio social. Asimismo, interpreté a la responsabilidad social universitaria bajo la concepción humanística centrada en sus principios compromiso, ética, solidaridad, y el bien común como los procesos que identifican las funciones básicas de la universidad, por lo tanto, la visualizo como una herramienta estratégica en el cumplimiento de la visión social para formar profesionales integrales y comprometidos socialmente. De manera, reflexiva, intuyo que las universidades en el marco de la RS, ameritan potenciar la relación entre sociedad y principales actores, a través de formación con programas y proyectos sociales en consonancia permanente con la universidad.Universities play a significant role in social responsibility as agents of generation and dissemination of knowledge to fulfill the social function in their environment, for beneficial social retribution with a holistic vision articulated to sustainable social development projects. From there, this research arises, which aimed to glimpse from a phenomenological vision, social responsibility, under the perspective of the university managers of Venezuelan private institutions with the intention of unveiling the meanings attributable by their versioners based on the praxis applied in management. It assumes an interpretative paradigm, a qualitative approach, addressed by the phenomenological method, with key actors governing three (3) private university scenarios. To collect the information, a structured interview script was applied and the analysis was developed under a process of triangulation from which the significant findings emerged, which I understood from my position the conception of Venezuelan private universities in their social approach have typified within their management philosophy a vision with substantive elements, in which social responsibility converges with the frame of reference of the identification in scale of values that characterize it as a driving agent of social change. Likewise, I interpreted university social responsibility under the humanistic conception centered on its principles commitment, ethics, solidarity, and the common good as the processes that identify the basic functions of the university, therefore, I visualize it as a strategic tool in the fulfillment of the social vision to train integral and socially committed professionals. In a reflexive way, I intuit that universities within the framework of SR deserve to strengthen the relationship between society and main actors, through training with social programs and projects in permanent consonance with the university
Reimaginando la gerencia: Impacto de las madres en las nuevas prácticas gerenciales
Get PDFThe article Reimagining Management: The Impact of Mothers on New Management Practices focuses on exploring how the experiences of working mothers influence contemporary management practices. This study seeks to challenge traditional management norms by integrating the unique experiences of women who balance work and family responsibilities, highlighting the importance of their perspective in the work environment. The evaluation was carried out theoretically with input from different authors and methodologically, using ethnographic approaches to gather information about the experiences of women and mothers at work. Phenomenological and hermeneutic methods were applied to delve deeper into their experiences, allowing for a richer understanding of their realities. The comprehensive literature review supported the findings, providing a solid theoretical framework that contextualizes the research within the management field. The analysis reveals that management practices must evolve to recognize the human being as an integral entity with professional and personal needs. This involves adopting approaches integrating ontological coaching and promoting inclusive leadership that values creativity and adaptability. Chaos theory is presented as a key tool to manage uncertainty and foster innovation in organizations seeking to become more resilient. In addition, the need for flexible organizational structures that facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences among employees is underlined. It invites us to rethink current work dynamics, emphasizing the relevance of the role of mothers in the reimagining of management, to create more equitable and sustainable work environments.En el artículo Reimaginando La Gerencia: El Impacto De Las Madres En Las Nuevas Prácticas Gerenciales, se centra en la exploración de cómo las experiencias de madres trabajadoras pueden influenciar positivamente en las prácticas gerenciales actuales. Este estudio busca desafiar las normas tradicionales de la gerencia al integrar las vivencias únicas de las mujeres que equilibran responsabilidades laborales y familiares, resaltando la importancia de su perspectiva en el entorno laboral. La evaluación se llevó a cabo teóricamente con aporte de diferentes autores y metodológicamente, utilizando enfoques etnográficos para recopilar información sobre las experiencias de mujeres y madres en el trabajo. Se aplicaron métodos fenomenológicos y hermenéuticos para profundizar en sus vivencias, lo que permitió una comprensión más rica de sus realidades. La revisión bibliográfica exhaustiva respaldó los hallazgos, proporcionando un marco teórico sólido que contextualiza la investigación dentro del campo de la gerencia. El análisis revela que las prácticas gerenciales deben evolucionar para reconocer al ser humano como un ente integral con necesidades tanto profesionales como personales. Esto implica adoptar enfoques que integren el coaching ontológico y promuevan un liderazgo inclusivo que valore la creatividad y la adaptabilidad. La teoría del caos se presenta como una herramienta clave para gestionar la incertidumbre y fomentar la innovación en organizaciones que buscan ser más resilientes. Además, se subraya la necesidad de estructuras organizacionales flexibles que faciliten el intercambio de conocimientos y experiencias entre los empleados. Invita a repensar las dinámicas laborales actuales, enfatizando la relevancia del papel de las madres en la reimaginación de la gerencia, con el fin de crear entornos laborales más equitativos y sostenibles
