Longitudinal Assessment of Competency Development in Post-Mortem Examination Training for Medical Students
Post-mortem examinations were vital in forensic science, helped to determine the cause of death and offered essential insights for medico-legal investigations. Proper training in autopsy procedures was crucial for medical students pursuing careers in forensic pathology. However, little was known about how competency in this area develops over time. Research aims to assess how medical students’ competency in performing post-mortem examinations evolves throughout their training and to identify factors that influence skill development. A total of 183 medical students participated, with their competency evaluated at various stages of training. During assessments, participants demonstrated their technical competence as well as diagnostic abilities and procedural expertise. IBM SPSS software version 29 has been utilized in the research. ANOVA, Chi-square tests and T-tests formed the basis for performance assessment, as these methods revealed periodic performance differences and competency reinforcement variables. Student skills significantly improved due to the training curriculum used during the educational journey. Students achieved notable advancement in the technical capabilities together with improvement in precise medical diagnosis. Education combined with repeated practice developed essential skills significantly as early training focused on distinct abilities compared to later stages of training. Post-mortem examination training programs helped students achieve marked progress in the competence development. Systematic assessment methods proved essential for forensic pathology education, as they helped medical students achieve professional-level skill development, according to the data results
Empirical Evaluation of Internet of Things Technologies for Advancing Healthcare Scalability and Performance
The Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming the healthcare sector by introducing interconnected technologies that enhance remote monitoring, resource management, and service delivery. Its ability to improve scalability and performance makes a critical component of modern healthcare, particularly in addressing growing demands and resource limitations. The goal is to evaluate the role and importance of IoT technologies in improving healthcare scalability and performance, based on insights from healthcare providers and statistical analyses. To gain insights, opinions from 43 healthcare providers were collected, focusing on the significance of IoT in healthcare operations. Regression analysis, ANOVA, and paired t-tests were used to assess the relationships between IoT implementation and its impact on service quality, efficiency, and scalability. These statistical tools provided a robust framework for analyzing the benefits and challenges associated with IoT technologies. The analysis revealed that IoT significantly enhances healthcare scalability and performance. Key outcomes include improved patient monitoring, optimized resource allocation, cost-effective service delivery, healthcare service efficiency and patient satisfaction and experience. Healthcare providers emphasized the importance of IoT in meeting the needs of underserved regions and managing increased demand. Statistical tests validated these observations, demonstrating strong correlations between IoT adoption and improved operational outcomes. The statistical tests indicated healthcare service efficiency had the most significant impact through the paired t-test (t = 8.92, p = 0.000), regression analysis (β = 0.65, p = 0.000), and ANOVA (f = 10.8, p = 0.001), highlighting IoT\u27s role in optimizing healthcare operations. Investigating Healthcare Professionals’ Acceptance of Cloud Health Technologies in Rural Healthcare Centers
Cloud health technologies have the potential to enhance healthcare accessibility and service efficiency, particularly in rural areas where medical resources are limited. These technologies enable remote consultations, digital patient records, and real-time data exchange, improving decision-making and patient outcomes. It investigates healthcare professionals\u27 acceptance of cloud health technologies in rural healthcare centers by examining key determinants influencing adoption. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 320 healthcare professionals selected from various rural hospitals. A structured questionnaire, adapted from established technology acceptance models, was used for data collection. It employs a theoretical framework that integrates technological readiness, perceived usefulness, organizational support, and individual adaptability, analyzed using structural equation modeling. The application of cloud health technologies in rural healthcare involves integrating cloud-based platforms for patient management, medical collaboration, and secure health information exchange. The adoption process depends on factors, such as rural healthcare centers, secure health information exchange, privacy and security concerns, cloud-based patient management, medical collaboration support, and secure patient access and control. Statistical analyses, including path analysis, reliability testing, and multiple regression modeling, were used to assess relationships among key variables. The findings provide actionable insights for healthcare policymakers and administrators, emphasizing the need for capacity-building programs and infrastructure development to ensure sustainable adoption in rural healthcare settings
Integrating Electronic Health Records to Address Clinician Burnout and Improve Workplace Well-being in Healthcare Settings
In the medical field, clinician burnout is a serious issue that has a negative influence on both the standard of patient care and professionals. To reduce clinician burnout and improve workplace well-being, it investigates the use of Electronic Health Records (EHRs). Focusing on healthcare environments, explore how EHRs can automate workflows, minimize administrative burdens, and facilitate communication among healthcare teams. Data were gathered by a survey given to 450 healthcare workers in different institutions that have installed EHR systems. The survey measured levels of clinician burnout, job satisfaction, and perceived effectiveness of the EHR system. Statistical analysis involved the use of three tests: Paired t-tests for burnout level comparisons before and after EHR integration, ANOVA for assessment of burnout level differences in various healthcare environments with different EHR stages of adoption, and Pearson\u27s correlation to inspect the suggestion among the usability of EHR systems and clinician well-being. The use of EHRs has been demonstrated to significantly reduce burnout, enhance job satisfaction, and enhance team collaboration in the healthcare sector. Nevertheless, issues including insufficient training and system interoperability were identified. According to the exploration, well-designed EHR systems that are adapted to the needs of practitioners can lessen administrative burden and promote a more encouraging workplace. Further research on the long-term effects of EHR systems on physician retention and mental health is suggested, along with recommendations for enhancing EHR adoption and continuing clinical support
Impact of food variety on food consumption in Guadalajara, Mexico
Food consumption in Guadalajara has been influenced by the transformation of the traditional Mexican diet towards a food model characterised by a high availability of ultra-processed products. It was observed that the variety of the diet had an impact on caloric intake, according to the Specific Sensory Satiety Theory (SSST), which argued that individuals tended to consume more when offered a varied diet as opposed to a monotonous one. The increase in the supply of processed foods, together with their affordability and the influence of the food environment, favoured the excessive consumption of high-calorie products. The proliferation of restaurants and supermarkets and aggressive marketing increased exposure to unhealthy options, especially among children and adolescents. In turn, cultural events and local festivities promoted greater consumption of foods high in sugars and fats. Despite efforts in nutritional education, the preference for palatable foods and the accelerated pace of life reduced the intake of fruit and vegetables. As a consequence, the rates of obesity and metabolic diseases increased. To mitigate these effects, it was suggested that public policies be implemented to regulate advertising, promote access to fresh food and reinforce nutritional education in Guadalajara
Developer learning of Chemistry in Technical Vocational Education
This research article explores the importance of a pedagogical approach that promotes meaningful and constructive learning in the field of chemistry. It analyzes the teaching-learning process in vocational training, highlighting the need to integrate content that not only transmits theoretical knowledge, but also fosters practical skills and critical thinking in students. Theoretical references on developmental learning are fundamental to understanding how students can construct their knowledge through meaningful experiences. The article examines various educational theories that support this approach, underlining the relevance of active methodologies that involve students in their own learning process. To evaluate the effectiveness of these teaching strategies, research methods such as classroom observations, surveys of students and teachers, pedagogical tests and analysis of curricular documents are used. These methods provide a comprehensive view of the impact of the strategies implemented on chemistry learning. The results indicate that the application of developmental learning improves not only academic performance, but also students\u27 motivation and interest in the subject. The article concludes with recommendations for the implementation of pedagogical practices that strengthen active and contextualized learning in technical and vocational education, contributing to the training of competent and critical professionals
The Role of Fine Motor Skills in the Acquisition of Graphoplastic Skills in Childhood
The study analyzed the relationship between motor skills and the development of graphoplastic skills in second-grade students in an educational unit in Manabí, Ecuador. The descriptive-correlational methodology used validated instruments to assess fine motor skills and initial writing skills in a sample of 20 students. The data revealed that 60% of children still do not reach advanced levels in the acquisition of writing, with the concrete and pre-syllabic levels predominating. The analysis highlights the need for pedagogical strategies aimed at strengthening fine motor skills, given their influence on the precision and coordination necessary for graphoplastic development. Although progress was observed in the formation of strokes and graphic patterns, challenges remain in aspects such as directionality control and segmentation. The results show an interdependence between motor and cognitive skills, which underscores the importance of an integrative educational approach that promotes the holistic development of students.
The evolution from the diagnosis of death to encephalic death
Introduction: Death is a process whose diagnosis has varied throughout history. Objective: Demonstrate the various methods of diagnosing death until brain death is confirmed. Methods: A historical documentary review was conducted on the various methods used to diagnose death. Results: In ancient times, the cessation of breathing was the primary indicator of death. However, with the emergence of clinical death, cardiac activity became the main criterion for diagnosing death. In the late 1950s, European neurologists identified a stage at which the brain ceases to function, exhibiting irreversible damage. However, artificial means can sustain the functions of the heart and lungs. In 1959, professors Mollaret and Goulon from the Claude Bernard Hospital in Paris introduced the term “coma dépassé”\u27 to describe a state beyond coma, where a “dead brain is associated with a living body.” This concept led to the development of brain death and the diagnosis of death through the lens of brain functions. Evaluating the Impact of Digital Communication on Healthcare Service Efficiency and Patient Treatment Outcomes
Processes for patient treatment and service provision have changed as a product of the practice of digital communication expertise in the medical sector. The research assesses how digital communication affects patient treatment results and the effectiveness of healthcare services. A sample of 60 medical professionals and 200 patients was chosen from telemedicine platforms, clinics, and hospitals. In addition to healthcare service indicators like wait times and consultation lengths, data were gathered through surveys and questionnaires that evaluated patient satisfaction, treatment adherence, and healthcare professional efficiency. Key trends in service efficiency and satisfaction were compiled using descriptive statistics, and healthcare service measures were compared before and after the use of digital communication technologies using a paired sample t-test. The findings show that digital communication skills have a major effect on increased coordination among healthcare practitioners, shorter wait times, and quicker reaction times. Patients expressed better participation and satisfaction with their treatment schedules, especially after having access to up-to-date health information. However, problems like digital accessibility and data security exist. The findings suggest that while digital communication enhances healthcare efficiency and treatment outcomes, these obstacles must be tackled to harness the advantages. Examining the Role of Communication Competence in Enhancing Patient Satisfaction in Medical Environments
In medical environments, communication competence refers to a healthcare provider\u27s ability to convey information, listen actively, demonstrate empathy, and use appropriate verbal and non-verbal cues to engage with patients. An effective relationship between medical care providers and patients is a critical factor in ensuring high-quality medical care and enhancing patient satisfaction (PS). This research examines the role of communication competence (CC) in enhancing PS within medical settings. The research was conducted across three major hospitals, involving a total of 120 patients and 120 healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses. Data collection incorporated structured surveys and in-depth interviews, with communication competence measured using the Healthcare Communication Competency Scale and patient satisfaction assessed through the PS Questionnaire. Statistical analyses included Pearson’s correlation analysis, descriptive statistics, and multiple linear regression models to determine the predictive power of communication competence on PS while controlling for demographic factors. Additionally, qualitative thematic analysis was employed to explore patients’ perceptions of communication effectiveness. Results indicate an important direct correlation (r = 0.78, p < 0.001) between communication competence and patient satisfaction. Regression analysis further establishes that communication competence is a strong analyst of PS, highlighting that clear explanations, active listening, and empathetic interactions significantly enhance the patient experience. Patients who perceived their healthcare providers as highly competent communicators reported greater trust, reduced anxiety, and increased adherence to treatment recommendations.
