The purpose of this study is to search in the international financial crisis and its reflections in the dividends policies for a sample of listed companies in Dubai Financial Market. The study launched from the cognitive dimensions for the two concepts of the financial crisis and the dividends policies to show the dependence or the change of the followed policies of dividend of the companies before the occurrence of the financial crisis which stormed the international financial markets and shifted to the other markets such as the evolving markets and to the markets of Arab Gulf countries, especially Dubai Financial Market, because of the importance of dividend policies, since they are the most important financial decisions as a source of internal financing for the firms and return on investment of the shareholders from one side, and their reflections on the prices of the shares in the financial markets from the other side. The study summarized a set of conclusions, which was the most important one is the consistence of the analysis findings and the test of the main first and second hypotheses, whereas the study confirmed the mistakenness of the third hypothesis, the most important recommendation is that the companies’ management should not resort to reserve the profits excessively as a source of financing in the light of the financial crisis which would affect negatively the prices of shares of such companies in the financial markets

The current study was undertaken to investigate the quality of pumpkin pulp Cucurbita moschata and dry roselle Hibiscus sabdariffa jam formulations by using three different types of pectin (high methoxyl pectin, low methoxyl pectin, and commercial pectin), and stored at room temperature for 90 days. In this study, FTIR was used to identify the functional groups of pectins. Consequently, physicochemical properties were analyzed using key parameters such as total soluble solids (TSS), pH, reducing sugar, total polyphenol (TPP), total carotene (TC), and total anthocyanin, as well as sensory evaluation were analyzed. The results showed that the range of TSS% was between 18.73-63.30% and increased after 90 days. Moreover, the range of total carotene in pumpkin, total anthocyanin in roselle, and total polyphenol in both pumpkin and roselle jams was observed as (13.20-16.93 mg/100g), (89.23-93.24 mg/100g), and (38.32-608.41 mg/100g), respectively. As well as all compounds significantly decreased at the end of storage. Finally, the sensory evaluation, such as flavor, mouthfeel, taste an appearance, color, and overall acceptability of different jam formulations, was unstable during the storage period, and jam formulations with a high amount of sugar were more acceptable compared to those formulations with stevia

This study was conducted on one of the most important medicinal plants with significant pharmaceutical value, namely Mentha piperita. The aim was to propagate peppermint using tissue culture techniques and combinations of plant growth regulators to obtain pathogen-free plants in large numbers. The study was carried out in the Tissue Culture Laboratory, College of Agriculture, University of Karbala, during the fall season of 2024, and included several experiments. The first experiment investigated the effect of NaOCl at different concentrations and exposure times on sterilizing seeds used as explants. The second experiment evaluated different concentrations of growth regulators at the initiation stage. The third experiment examined two types of cytokinins at different concentrations during the multiplication stage. The sterilization experiment showed that treatment with 2% NaOCl for 15 minutes achieved the lowest contamination rate (0%) without affecting explant viability. In the second experiment, BA at 1 mg L⁻¹ resulted in the highest response rate (82.50%), while NAA at 0.1 mg L⁻¹ gave the best response among auxin treatments (66.66%). In the third experiment, BA at 2 mg L⁻¹ was superior in producing the highest shoot number, length, and fresh and dry weights of the vegetative growth, which were 34.02 branches plant⁻¹, 9.06 cm, 13.65 mg, and 3.85 mg, respectively. Regarding the effect of Kin, the concentration of 1 mg L⁻¹ gave the highest values for the number and length of shoots and their fresh and dry weights, which were 25.70 branches plant⁻¹, 7.72 cm, 13.19 mg, and 3.15 mg, respectively

This study was conducted in the Al-Nabhaniyah area 10 km east of Karbala city during the spring agricultural season 2024 to investigate the effect of foliar spraying with potassium sulfate and tocopherol on vegetative growth indicators. The experiment was implemented using a completely randomized design (CRD) as a factorial experiment with three factors: two cultivars of maize (Sorour and 5018), four concentrations of potassium sulfate (0, 25, 50, and 75 mg L-1), and four concentrations of tocopherol (0, 50, 100, and 150 mL-1), with three replicates. The results showed that foliar fertilization with potassium sulfate at a concentration of 50 mg L-1 and tocopherol at a concentration of 100 mg L-1 significantly affected all studied traits. The two-way interaction between the study factors was significant except for relative and absolute growth. The interaction coefficients between the cultivars and potassium sulfate concentrations 50 mg L-1 and between the cultivars and tocopherol concentrations (100 mg L-1) gave the highest rate. The two-way interaction between potassium sulfate and tocopherol was also significant under concentrations (50, 100 mg L-1) of potassium sulfate and tocopherol, respectively. The results also showed that the three-way interaction between the study factors was significant for all studied traits except for the average number of leaves (leaf/plant-1) and the relative growth rate. Also, there was a significant interaction between cultivars, Potassium sulfate 50 mg L-1 and tocopherol 100 mg L-1 for other traits

A pilot study was conducted during the winter season (2023–2024) to investigate the effects of residual weeds (Sorghum halepense L.) and weeds (Xanthium strumarium L.) on some growth and yield characteristics of wheat cultivars and different plant density traits in Diyala Governorate, Al-Muqdadiyah District, within a June-spreading zone. The experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design (R.C.B.D) with three distinct replicates, 3 independent sub-groups, using three wheat crop varieties (Aba99, Sham6, Al-Fayyadh), preferring the effect of the residues of the two types of weeds, the first (weed (Sorghum halepense L.) uses C4 herbaceous plants) used (weed (Xanthium strumarium L.) exploits C3 species) and the third factor with the quantity of seeds (40 kg.dun-1, 50 kg.dun-1). The results showed no significant differences between the varieties in the number of seedlings, number of spikes, and harvest index, while the Sham 6 variety was early and gave the lowest number of days to 50% spike bunch, reaching (97.08) days, while the Abaa 99 variety recorded the highest number of days, reaching (101.63) days. The comparison treatment without adding weed residues was superior and recorded the highest average for the total yield trait, which amounted to (4925.0 kg.ha-1), Because of its superiority in the number of total branches (372.83 branch. m2) and the number of spikes (337.39 spikes. m2). It also excelled in the harvest index trait, and the treatment of adding C3 weed residues recorded the highest average for the number of days until 50% of the ear cluster, which amounted to (100.17) days. Meanwhile, the seed quantity of 50 kg.dun-1 was superior in the number of days to 50% ear development, the total number of seedlings, and the number of earlings, and recorded an average of (100.14 days, 349.50 seedlings .m2, 312.17 seedlings. m2) respectively, and there were no significant differences between the seed quantity in the total yield characteristic.  &nbsp

    No full text
Background: The primary function of the liver is to keep glucose and cholesterol levels at a normal level. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a chronic disorder that affects the liver and is characterized by insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and the accumulation of fat in the liver. It is possible for this to result in inflammation and scarring in the liver, which can then progress to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and other types of liver disease. That cannot be rectified in any way. cirrhosis of the liver. Objective: The primary aim of the current study was to identify clinically applicable biomarkers for diabetes and fatty liver disease.Materials and Methods:seventy women and men with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes were among the 108 participants whose blood samples were taken for the research. The participants\u27 ages ranged from 35 to 77. In addition, thirty-eight blood samples were obtained from individuals in good health.Result: ALT and asprosin have a slightly negative relationship, but the connection is not statistically significant. In contrast, adiponectin and liver enzymes demonstrate a modest association. Also, with p values less than 0.05, a significant association was found between Asprosin and LDL, Insulin, and HOMA-IR. Cholesterol, TG, VLDL, HDL, and Asprosin all had modest to moderate positive associations (r between 0.3 and 0.46) with one another. Only LDL has demonstrated a negative relationship with asprosin. Conclusion:Type two diabetes is closely associated with the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, primarily due to the underlying mechanism of insulin resistanceby facilitating the liver\u27s accumulation of free fatty acids.Adiponectin and asprosin can serve as non-invasive markers for metabolic fatty liver disease
