Analysis of the professional image of a social worker from the point of view of social service users
No full textAn employee's professional image is one of the main components of an institution's image. The institution's attractiveness in society, the quality of services, and the feedback from service recipients depend on its reputation. In order to ensure an attractive image, a social worker must work integrally, not abuse his professional position, define and respect the boundaries between his personal life and professional activity. It is important to provide social services professionally, taking into account the individual needs and interests of social service recipients, teaching them to listen, respectfully express and constructively accept professional criticism, since the problems of social service recipients are solved, their experiences in communicating with the employee and positive feedback form a positive image of the profession. The purpose of the article is to analyze the professional image of a social worker from the point of view of social service recipients. The quantitative analysis of the study revealed that the social worker's behavior at work is most favorably evaluated, but it is noticeable that confidentiality is not always respected. The social worker sometimes does not implement social justice, does not respect human dignity, does not follow human rights and democracy, thereby worsening the current situation in the family. Despite this, he is honest and responsible, improving his professional competences. The image components that need to be improved are the specialist's behavior at work, professional competences and professional work clothes. It is important to raise the prestige of the profession in society by publicizing social work in the media, organizing seminars and trainings

Get PDFThe article analyzes what functions the well-known everyday tool – the stick – performed in the past or performs now. It explains how the functions of the stick have changed: from a weapon intended for hunting or defense, to an attribute used in various games, from a sign of distinction of the pope or king to a symbol of a beggar. The research uses the methods of document analysis and thematic analysis, currently popular in both social sciences and humanities, when information collected from various written sources is systematized by identifying themes and analyzed, thus characterizing the main object of research – the symbolic and domestic functions of the stick.Straipsnyje analizuojama, kokias funkcijas visiems gerai žinomas kasdienis įnagis – lazda – atliko seniau arba atlieka dabar. Aiškinamasi, kaip lazdõs funkcijos keitėsi: nuo ginklo, skirto medžioti arba gintis, iki įvairiuose žaidimuose naudojamo atributo, nuo popiežiaus ar karaliaus išskirtinumo ženklo iki elgetos simbolio. Get PDFThe article presents options for the layout of a hotel building on a plot of land, modelling the efficiency of solar modules on the roof. At the initial stage of the project, when there are no restrictions from territorial planning documents, it is possible to select the optimal roof structure as well as the building orientation in relation to the cardinal points to maximize the exploitation of the power of solar modules installed on the roof. The modelling is performed using the PVsyst universal software for the design, analysis and optimization of solar power plants. After analysing the building models in four cardinal directions, the chosen position of the building model is the roof slope with solar modules turned to the southwest (according to the results of the two most efficient directions) – the rotation angle is 39° clockwise from the south. Solar modules oriented in the southwest direction generate 19,166 kWh/year, and after considering the tree shadows – 19,029 kWh/year (a difference of about 0.7%). Compared to the most efficient southern direction, the difference is 3%

SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER OBSERVATION ON THEIR APPLICATION OF DISTRIBUTED LEADERSHIP STYLE
Get PDFDistributed leadership in secondary education is a leadership style in which all educational personnel at school is involved in the improvement of teaching and learning. Its application corresponds to the contemporary requirements of education organization/management. However, in countries building democracy, such as Georgia, distributed leadership is not sufficiently applied and its application and impacts have not been studied. The paper presents the results of an experimental study at two schools – the experimental one, where teachers were trained to be involved in distributed leadership, and the control one, where no such training was organized. Then for one semester, the teachers in both schools did self-observation and were observed by three observers to see whether they differed in the application of distributed leadership. The results confirmed that a statistically significant improvement in distributed leadership application took place at the experimental school, while no such improvement occurred at the control school. A recommendation is given that for teachers insufficiently aware of distributed leadership style training concerning its clear definition, benefits, and challenges is necessary
