Alternatives for the establishment of a new international financial architecture from the West: a case study France

    Get PDF
After World War II, the United States became the world\u27s strongest economy. As a result of the Bretton Woods agreements, the dollar was imposed as the world\u27s currency exchange and a whole financial architecture that favored its national interests. However, in 1971, it broke the foundations of the agreement leading to a reconfiguration of the international financial architecture and the beginning of a new era featured by high volatility, instability, and recurrent systemic and financial crises. Thus, in the face of the existing antiquated and unjust financial structures, some steps were taken in the West to reshape them, with France attempting to lead the changes with proposals for the establishment of a new international financial order. In this context, this research evaluated the alternatives for establishing a new international financial architecture from the West focusing on the case study of France. As a result, it was noted that it is precisely this European country that has sought to drive in recent years changes to the international financial agenda through meetings of the G7, G20 and other forums such as the recent Summit for a New International Financial Pact; and thus, the alternatives for establishing a new international financial architecture from the West have been essentially based on the introduction of reforms to its main institutions, and less on a proposal for structural and systemic transformatio

    Get PDF
This study focuses on the digital empowerment of teachers in rural areas of Colombia, a region where less than 40% of schools have broadband internet access. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has significantly exacerbated the digital divide, we propose the innovative Digital Empowerment Model for Rural Teachers (MCDDR). This model is based on a rigorous systematic literature review that identifies and synthesizes successful educational practices adapted to similar contexts. The MCDDR is specially designed to be flexible and adaptable to local needs, seeking to promote a profound pedagogical transformation through the effective integration of information and communication technologies (ICT). Based on the successful practices identified, the model has a strong potential to revolutionize education in rural Colombia. Its strategic implementation is expected not only to effectively address the educational digital divide, but also to substantially improve the quality and equity of education in these areas. By anticipating the positive impacts of the MCDDR, the study underscores the urgent need for policies that support the implementation of innovative digital solutions in rural education, which could guarantee equitable access to educational opportunities in the contemporary digital era

The behavior of street vendors in the informal sector in relation to decision making as rational agents

    Get PDF
The behavior of a street vendor in the informal sector regarding decision making as rational agents can be understood through a stochastic model that explains their behavior. In this model, the street vendor has subsistence consumption subject to two constraints: the first considers an uncertain income and the second consists of his consumption routine. Past consumption influences future consumption, which is an important part of this seller\u27s decision making as a rational agent. In addition, the optimal proportion of income for savings is determined when the individual has a surplus, the hours dedicated to his activity and the optimal future consumption strategy. This approach shows how street vendors in the informal sector make rational decisions in an environment of uncertain income and consumption routines
