Bridging technology and cognition: investigating augmented reality acceptance and thinking skill development using SEM-IPMA analysis
Introduction: Prior research has predominantly focused on dissecting the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to elucidate users’ behavioral intentions toward adopting technology. Building upon this foundational scholarship, the present study advances the discourse by examining the cognitive ramifications associated with technology adoption. In particular, this investigation seeks to elucidate the interplay between perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and the actual utilization of augmented reality (AR) technologies, as they pertain to the cultivation of computational thinking and critical thinking competencies. Methods: This research adopts a quantitative approach, with an associative design. A sample of 141 vocational high school students from West Sumatera, Indonesia. The collected data were examined through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Importance-Performance Map Analysis (IPMA).Results: Statistical analyses indicated that both perceived ease of use and actual AR utilization significantly enhanced students’ computational and critical thinking skills. While perceived usefulness significantly influenced critical thinking, its effect on computational thinking was not statistically meaningful. IPMA results further highlighted that AR’s ease of use performs strongly, whereas perceived usefulness remains an area for improvement. Conclusions: The theoretical extension of the TAM into the domain of cognitive outcomes, moving beyond its traditional behavioral scope. They also establish a compelling platform for future scholarly inquiry and the formulation of strategic, evidence-based approaches to optimizing AR integration particularly in fostering higher-order thinking.
Understanding and Implementation of Value Education through Physical Education
This research is motivated by the decline of universal values influenced by the rapid growth of technology and weak social-family support, schools emerge as strategic institutions to foster the integrity of universal values. This study aims to explore the important role of universal values at all levels of education in the implementation through physical education in schools. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study to explain the relationship between teachers and the application of universal values in physical education. The number of informants in this study was 30 teachers with details of 10 elementary school teachers, 10 junior high school teachers and 10 senior high school teachers. The findings show that elementary, junior high school, and senior high school teachers implement value education with varying depths from instilling basic virtues to engaging in ethical reflection. Although teacher competence is good, challenges such as limited time, lack of parental support, diverse student backgrounds, and integration programs that have not been planned perfectly. The results of this study conclude that collaborative efforts between educators and families are essential to strengthen consistent value formation. In addition, integrating value education with environmental education can foster sustainable attitudes and responsible behavior. HER2 is Rarely Expressed in Endometrial Carcinoma in Sudanese Population
Background
Endometrial cancer (EC) is the most common gynecologic cancer in high-income countries, and its incidence is increasing in low-and middle-income nations. Although differentiating between high-grade and low-grade tumors is mandatory for the survival of the patients, histomorphology alone has limited reproducibility owing to the overlapping of the morphologic features by routine H&E stain. Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) expression has been observed in various cancers with a potential role in prognosis and targeted therapy for EC. The study aims to explore the HER2 expression pattern and its potential role as a natural history predictor and target therapy in EC among Sudanese women.
Methods
A cohort of fifty-four Sudanese female patients diagnosed with endometrial cancer (EC) was evaluated for HER2 expression through immunohistochemistry using the Hercep Test (Dako, Glostrup, Denmark) from January 2019 to October 2021.
Results
The results showed that 92.59% of the cases were negative (0 or 1+), 5.56% were equivocal (2+), and only 1.85% were positive (3+). A statistically significant correlation was identified between HER2 expression and histological subtypes (P value = 0.01). However, the association between HER2 expression and tumor grade was insignificant (P value = 0.06). Additionally, no significant correlation was found between HER2 expression and lymphovascular invasion within the tumor (P value = 0.49).
Conclusion
The overexpression of HER2 is not prevalent among Sudanese patients diagnosed with endometrial carcinoma.
