Memur Sen: a loyal partner in the emergence of state corporatism in contemporary Turkey
This study examines the rapid and extraordinary rise of the Confederation of Public Servants Trade Unions (Memur-Sen) in the context of state corporatism. While it has been common for mainstream labor organizations to establish and develop clientelist relations with the ruling political party or parties, those between the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and Memur-Sen have been beyond the boundaries of mainstream unionism and have reached the point of integration. Memur-Sen has acted in absolute partnership with the AKP and has monopolistic power over the collective bargaining system, which no other public employee confederation has ever had
On the Behaviors of Solutions of Linear Nonhomogeneous Mixed Type Differential Equations
This paper deals with the behaviors of solutions for nonhomogeneous linear mixed-type (delay andadvance) differential equations. In this study, an asymptotic result and a useful exponential estimate for the solutionsare established. Additionally, stability criteria for the homogeneous equation are also obtained. We obtained theseresults using a real root (with a suitable property) of the characteristic equation. We present three examples toillustrate the hypotheses of these results. We also obtain useful lemmas that give sufficient conditions for theexistence of the roots of the characteristic equation.</p

Evaluation of the Effects of Psychoeducation on Interpersonal Relations, Loneliness, and Psychological Well-Being for Individuals Diagnosed With Schizophrenia
Introduction: It is known that individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia experience communication difficulties and become isolated as a result, which negatively affects their psychological well-being. Aim: This study aimed to determine the effects of psychoeducation given to individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia on interpersonal relationships, loneliness, and psychological well-being. Method: The study was conducted with individuals registered in a Schizophrenia Relatives Association between July 2024 and April 2025. The study was conducted using a pretest–posttest control group randomized controlled experimental study design. A total of 40 patients (20 in the training group and 20 in the control group) were included in the study. Research data were collected using a questionnaire, the Interpersonal Competence Scale, the De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale, and the Psychological Well-Being Scale. Results: Participants in the training group scored significantly higher than those in the control group on the Interpersonal Competence Scale and the Psychological Well-Being Scale, while their scores on the De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale were significantly lower (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the training group showed significant improvements in their scores on all three scales compared to their pretraining levels. Implications for Practice: This study emphasizes the need for interventions by nurses to improve the communication skills of patients diagnosed with schizophrenia
Dynamics of Türkiye’s Hazelnut Exports: An Autoregressive Distributed Lag Analysis
This study pursues a dual objective: First, it evaluates the export competitiveness of Türkiye’s hazelnut sector over the period 1970–2020 by employing the revealed symmetric comparative advantage index. Second, it investigates the long-run and short-run dynamics between hazelnut exports and a set of macroeconomic and sector-specific determinants, including foreign direct investment, hazelnut export prices, hazelnut production, real effective exchange rates, and terms of trade. To this end, an autoregressive distributed lag bounds testing framework is adopted, enabling the identification of both equilibrium relationships and short-run adjustment mechanisms. The empirical findings confirm the existence of a stable long-run relationship between hazelnut exports and key economic fundamentals, accompanied by significant short-run dynamics. However, foreign direct investment does not exhibit a robust export-enhancing effect, suggesting that capital inflows into the sector have not been effectively translated into increased hazelnut export performance. The results underscore the dominant role of price competitiveness and structural advantages in shaping Türkiye’s hazelnut exports.</p

Effects of a cognitive-behavioral intervention package on pain, fear, and anxiety during port catheter needle insertion in children with cancer: A randomized controlled trial
Purpose This study evaluated the effects of a Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention Package (CBIP) on pain, fear, and anxiety in children undergoing port catheter needle insertion in pediatric oncology. Design and methods In a parallel-group randomized controlled trial conducted at a university hospital in Turkey (December 2024–August 2025), 48 children aged 6–12 years were stratified by age, sex, and prior fear of port access and randomized to CBIP ( n = 24) or control (n = 24). CBIP comprised preparation and information, pre-procedural distraction, verbal reassurance, parental education and participation, distraction during the procedure, and positive reinforcement. Outcomes were assessed pre/post using the Wong-Baker FACES Pain Rating Scale (WB-FACES), Children's Fear Scale (CFS), and Children's Anxiety Scale–State (CAS-S). Between-group differences, effect sizes, and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated. Results Mean age was 9.31 years (SD = 2.03; range = 6–12). Groups were comparable at baseline ( p > 0.05). Post-procedure, CBIP showed lower pain (0.58 ± 0.77 vs. 2.29 ± 1.80), fear (0.45 ± 0.65 vs. 2.08 ± 1.76), and anxiety (0.37 ± 0.82 vs. 2.62 ± 2.16) than control (all p < 0.001). Mean differences (CBIP–Control) were − 1.71 (95% CI: −2.51 to −0.91) for pain, −1.63 (−2.40 to −0.86) for fear, and − 2.25 (−3.20 to −1.30) for anxiety, with large effect sizes (d = 1.23–1.40). Conclusions CBIP reduced pain, fear, and anxiety during port needle insertion and is a feasible, nurse-deliverable approach for routine pediatric oncology care
