Intrinsic value of Alibaba
No full textThis bachelor’s thesis focuses on the investment analysis of Alibaba’s shares, one of the most prominent technology companies in Asia. In the context of increasing accessibility to investment tools and information, the thesis examines the attractiveness of Chinese equities from the perspective of both novice and experienced investors. The analysis reflects current macroeconomic and geopolitical challenges, including the slowdown of the Chinese economy, regulatory interventions, and deteriorating trade relations with the United States. The theoretical part introduces the fundamentals of investment analysis, including the discounted cash flow model, comparable ratios method, and value investing approaches inspired by Graham and Dodd. The practical part analyzes the Chinese capital market, Alibaba’s position within its sector, and culminates in the valuation of the stock and formulation of an investment recommendation. The aim is to provide a comprehensive view of whether Alibaba’s stock represents an attractive opportunity for a long-term investor under current market conditions.Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá investiční analýzou akcií společnosti Alibaba, jednoho z nejvýznamnějších technologických podniků v Asii. V kontextu rostoucí dostupnosti investičních nástrojů a informací zkoumá práce atraktivitu čínských akcií z pohledu jak začínajících, tak pokročilých investorů. Analýza reflektuje současné makroekonomické a geopolitické výzvy včetně zpomalování čínské ekonomiky, regulatorních zásahů a zhoršujících se obchodních vztahů se Spojenými státy. V teoretické části jsou představeny základy fundamentální analýzy, včetně modelu diskontovaných peněžních toků, metody srovnatelných poměrů a přístupů hodnotového investování inspirovaných Grahamem a Doddem. Praktická část práce analyzuje čínský kapitálový trh, pozici Alibaby v rámci odvětví a vyúsťuje do ocenění akcie a formulace investičního doporučení. Sugar Tax in the Czech Republic
No full textThe diploma thesis deals with the introduction of a tax on sweetened beverages (sugar tax) in the Czech Republic. It is based on the premise that regular and excessive consumption of these beverages poses significant health risks, while their consumption in the Czech Republic remains among the highest in Europe. The aim of this thesis is to propose an optimal model of the tax on sugar-sweetened beverages for the Czech Republic based on analyses of tax models in European countries and experience from abroad. The research includes a comparative analysis of taxation models across selected European countries, highlighting differences in tax design, rates, and scope. Based on real-world data, the thesis also calculates the proportion of the tax in the retail price of selected beverages, enabling cross-country comparisons of the actual tax burden. Additionally, the study presents findings from a survey conducted among Czech producers of sugar sweetened beverages and uses the insights to propose a tailored tax model for the Czech Republic.Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou zavedení daně ze slazených nápojů (tzv. sugar tax) v České republice. Vychází ze skutečnosti, že pravidelná a nadměrná konzumace cukrem slazených nápojů představuje významné zdravotní riziko, zatímco jejich spotřeba v ČR dlouhodobě patří k nejvyšším v Evropě. Cílem této diplomové práce je na základě provedených analýz daňových modelů v evropských zemích a zkušeností ze zahraničí navrhnout optimální model daně ze slazených nápojů pro Českou republiku. Součástí výzkumu je komparativní analýza daňových modelů ve vybraných evropských zemích, s důrazem na rozdíly v konstrukci, sazbách a rozsahu zdanění. Na základě reálných dat byla také vypočtena výše podílu daně na maloobchodní ceně vybraných nápojů, což umožnilo porovnat skutečné zatížení v jednotlivých státech. Práce dále prezentuje výsledky dotazníkového šetření mezi českými výrobci slazených nápojů a na jejich základě navrhuje vlastní model sugar tax pro Českou republiku
Employee care in a selected organization
No full textThis bachelor’s thesis focuses on the issue of employee care within a selected organization. It examines how the employee care system is structured in the company and how it is perceived by the employees themselves. The main objective of the thesis is to propose measures to optimize the current employee care system. The partial objectives include a summary of the main theoretical foundations, an assessment of employee satisfaction with the existing care system, and the identification of its strengths as well as weaknesses. The thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines key concepts, distinguishes between mandatory and voluntary employee care, and explores its importance within human resource management. The practical part follows with an analysis of the employee care system in the selected organization, using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods. In the final part of the thesis, the research questions are answered based on the findings, and recommendations are proposed to support the improvement of the current employee care system.Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou péče o zaměstnance ve vybrané organizaci. Zaměřuje se na to, jakým způsobem je péče o zaměstnance v podniku nastavena a jak ji vnímají samotní zaměstnanci. Hlavním cílem práce je formulace opatření k optimalizaci systému péče o zaměstnance. Dílčími cíli jsou shrnutí hlavních teoretických východisek, zjištění spokojenosti zaměstnanců se stávajícím systémem péče a identifikace jeho silných i slabých stránek. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí – teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část se věnuje vymezení základních pojmů, povinné i dobrovolné péči o zaměstnance a jejímu významu v rámci řízení lidských zdrojů. Praktická část navazuje na analýzu systému péče v organizaci, a to prostřednictvím kombinace kvalitativního a kvantitativního výzkumu. V závěru práce jsou na základě získaných poznatků formulovány odpovědi na výzkumné otázky a navržena doporučení, která mohou přispět ke zlepšení současného systému péče o zaměstnance

The aim of the thesis is to analyze the current functioning of dispatch management, identify bottlenecks and inefficient operations, and subsequently propose specific measures to enhance operational efficiency and reliability. The theoretical part describes the principles of dispatch control in the context of railway transport, current technological trends, and digitalization opportunities. The practical part concentrates on the analysis of internal processes within a selected operator, the design of optimization measures, and the implementation of automation elements using modern tools (such as data analysis, AI, and process automation). The outcome of the thesis is a proposal for dispatching center modifications that reflect the needs of current operations, improve operational oversight, and reduce dispatcher workload. The thesis thus offers concrete recommendations and innovative approaches to increase the efficiency of dispatch activities in freight rail transport.Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na moderní způsoby řízení dispečerského stanoviště u nákladního železničního dopravce s důrazem na interní systémovou optimalizaci a automatizaci procesů. Cílem práce je analyzovat současné fungování dispečerského řízení, identifikovat úzká místa a neefektivní operace a následně navrhnout konkrétní opatření vedoucí ke zvýšení provozní efektivity a spolehlivosti. V teoretické části jsou popsány principy dispečerského řízení v kontextu železniční dopravy, současné technologické trendy a možnosti digitalizace. Praktická část se zaměřuje na analýzu interních procesů vybraného dopravce, návrh optimalizačních opatření a implementaci prvků automatizace s využitím moderních nástrojů (datová analýza, AI, automatizace procesů). Výsledkem práce je návrh úprav dispečerského stanoviště, který reflektuje potřeby současného provozu, zvyšuje operativní přehled a snižuje zátěž dispečerů. Shot Analysis of NHL Players and Its Application in the Training Process
No full textThis diploma thesis focuses on the application of cluster analysis to NHL shot data from the 2023/2024 season. The main objective is to identify the optimal way to group shots and players based on their spatial, technical, and game-related characteristics, and to interpret the resulting clusters generated by the most suitable method. The secondary objectives include a comparison of seven clustering methods (e.g., k-means, Ward’s method, single linkage) and various distance metrics in terms of their ability to form statistically and practically meaningful groups. To evaluate the quality of the results, three standard internal validation metrics are used: the silhouette coefficient, Calinski-Harabasz index, and Davies-Bouldin index. The analysis is divided into three parts: clustering of shots based on their position on the ice, based on shot type and outcome, and clustering of players according to their physical and game characteristics. The results demonstrate that cluster analysis is an effective tool for identifying typical shooting patterns and player profiles. The thesis formulates specific recommendations for incorporating these insights into training practice and highlights the potential of data analysis to support decision-making in ice hockey.Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na aplikaci shlukové analýzy na data střel hráčů NHL ze sezóny 2023/2024. Hlavním cílem je nalézt optimální způsob rozdělení střel a hráčů do skupin na základě jejich prostorových, technických a herních charakteristik a interpretovat výsledné shluky vytvořené nejvhodnější metodou. Dílčími cíli jsou porovnání osmi metod shlukování (např. k-průměrů, Wardova metoda, metoda nejbližšího souseda) a různých typů vzdáleností z hlediska jejich schopnosti vytvořit statisticky i prakticky využitelné skupiny. K hodnocení kvality výstupů jsou využity tři standardní metriky vnitřní validity: obrysový koeficient, Calinski-Harabaszův index a Davies-Bouldinův index. Analýza je rozdělena do tří částí: shlukování střel podle jejich pozice na ledě, podle typu a výsledku střely a shlukování hráčů na základě jejich fyzických a herních charakteristik. Výsledky ukazují, že shluková analýza představuje efektivní nástroj pro identifikaci typických střeleckých situací i herních profilů. Práce formuluje konkrétní návrhy pro využití těchto poznatků v tréninkové praxi a ukazuje potenciál datové analýzy pro podporu rozhodování v ledním hokeji
Taxation of alternative tobacco products
No full textThis thesis covers the excise duty on tobacco products with a focus on the taxation of alternative products in the Czech Republic and its neighbouring countries. The theoretical part includes the development of excise duties up to the present day and describes the harmonisation of excise duties on tobacco products mandated by the European Union. Furthermore, the types of alternative products and the impact of their use on an individual’s health are described. In the second part, research of the tax legislation of the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries is carried out, which focusing on the taxation of both tobacco and alternative products. Plans for increasing tax rates, which so far have been presented by individual governments, are also presented. The practical part examines the overall tax burden of conventional and electronic cigarettes in each country and compares them. The next section compares the tax burden per milligram of nicotine in conventional and electronic cigarettes in Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Austria and the Czech Republic.Tato práce se zabývá spotřební daní z tabákových výrobků se zaměřením na zdanění alternativních produktů v České republice a okolních státech. Teoretická část obsahuje vývoj spotřebních daní, který sahá až do současnosti a popisuje harmonizaci spotřební daně z tabákových výrobků, která je nařízena Evropskou unií. Dále jsou popsány druhy alternativních produktů a vliv jejich užívání na zdraví. V druhé části je provedena rešerše daňové legislativy České republiky a okolních států, která se zaobírá zdaněním jak tabákových, tak alternativních výrobků. Uvedeny jsou i plány na zvyšování sazeb daní, které jednotlivé vlády prozatím představily. Praktická část se zabývá celkovým daňovým zatížením klasických a elektronických cigaret v jednotlivých státech a jejich srovnáním. V další části je provedena komparace daňové zátěže jednoho miligramu nikotinu v tradičních a elektronických cigaretách v Německu, Polsku, Slovensku, Rakousku a České republice
The Impact of Implementing Departmental Cost Classification on Their Allocation
No full textTato bakalářská práce se zabývá alokací nákladů ve společnosti Assa Abloy Entrance Systems s. r. o. a to v souvislosti se zavedením vnitropodnikového útvarového členění. Cílem práce je analyzovat způsob alokace nákladů v podniku před zavedením útvarového členění, popsat průběh zavedení tohoto členění a na modelovém příkladu zhodnotit dopady tohoto kroku na alokaci nákladů. Metody využité v praktické části této bakalářské práce jsou polostrukturované rozhovory s finančním ředitelem společnosti, poznatky z autorčina pozorování v rámci působení ve společnosti a rozbor účetních dat z účetního systému Helios. Jednou z výzkumných otázek, které si tato práce klade je „Přispěje zavedení útvarového členění k přesnější alokaci nákladů?“. Výsledky modelového příkladu, ukazují, že zavedení vnitropodnikového útvarového členění přispělo k přesnější a spravedlivější alokaci nákladů mezi jednotlivé útvary a celý proces alokace udělalo více transparentní. Práce zároveň navrhuje doporučení, pro ještě efektivnější řízení nákladů.This bachelor thesis focuses on cost allocation in the company Assa Abloy Entrance Systems s.r.o. in the context of the introduction of the internal departmental division. The aim of the thesis is the analysis of the way of cost allocation in the company before the introduction of the departmental division, the description of the process of the introduction of the departmental division and the evaluation of the effects of this step on the cost allocation on the basis of a model case. The methods used in the practical part of this thesis are semi-structured interviews with the CFO of the company, observations made while working in the company and analysis of accounting data from the Helios accounting system. One of the research questions of this thesis is: „Does the introduction of departmental breakdowns contribute to a more accurate allocation of costs?“ The findings of the model case show that the introduction of departmental breakdowns within the company has contributed to a more accurate and fair allocation of costs between departments, and has made the whole allocation process more transparent. Furthermore, the thesis proposes recommendations for even more effective cost management

The research is based on a review of relevant academic literature and expert interviews with professionals active in the Czech art investment market. Historically, the appreciation potential of art has been understood primarily through anecdotal evidence from high-net-worth collectors. The lack of empirical research on the financial profile of art as an asset class has limited broader investor participation. However, recent technological developments and a rising interest in alternative investments have contributed to a more comprehensive understanding of art's financial attributes and facilitated greater accessibility through collective investment structures. This study offers an integrated perspective on art investment funds, addressing both legal and economic dimensions, and highlights practical insights, key advantages, and challenges specific to the Czech context.Tato diplomová práce si klade za cíl popsat a analyzovat fenomén kolektivních investic do umění a kvantifikovat rizika s ním spojená. Práce využívá rešerši odborné literatury a výzkum formou expertních rozhovorů s českými odborníky. Až do nedávné doby byla schopnost umění zhodnocovat se vnímána převážně skrze individuální zkušenosti velmi majetných sběratelů. Absence výzkumu zaměřeného na charakteristiky umění jakožto investičního aktiva představovala překážku pro širší zapojení drobných investorů do této specifické třídy aktiv. V důsledku technologického rozvoje a rostoucího zájmu investorů o diverzifikaci portfolia směrem k alternativním investicím však dochází k prohloubení porozumění finančnímu profilu umění a zároveň k jeho postupnému zpřístupnění prostřednictvím modelů kolektivního investování. Práce poskytuje ucelený pohled na fondy investující do umění, a to jak z hlediska jejich právního a ekonomického rámce, tak i z pohledu praktických zkušeností subjektů působících na českém trhu, přičemž klade důraz na identifikaci klíčových výhod, bariér a rizik spojených s tímto typem investování
Logistical aspects of car import in a selected company
No full textThis bachelor thesis deals with logistics processes in a chosen company importing electric vehicles. The aim was to propose new solutions to reduce the overall time of the logistics process. The thesis is methodologically based on theoretical approaches to business logistics (purchasing, inventories, warehousing, transport) taken from the academic literature and an analysis of the company's operations based on primary data from interviews with company representatives. The analysis revealed a stable logistics system, but with several bottlenecks, particularly in the processes of vehicle searching, the use of reverse transportation and unsystematic inventory management. Based on the findings, solutions were proposed with the potential to reduce transport times and manage higher sales volumes more efficiently. Their real impact is limited by the lack of internal data, which requires their assessment and more specific calculations by the company before implementation.Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá logistickými procesy ve vybrané společnosti dovážející elektromobily. Cílem bylo navrhnout nová řešení pro zkrácení celkové doby logistického procesu. Metodicky práce vychází z teoretických přístupů k podnikové logistice (nákup, zásoby, skladování, doprava) čerpaných z odborné literatury a analýzy fungování firmy na základě primárních dat z rozhovorů s představiteli firmy. Analýza odhalila sice stabilní logistický systém, ale s několika úzkými místy, zejména v procesech vyhledávání vozidel, využívání zpětného převozu a nesystematické řízení zásob. Na základě zjištění byla navržena řešení s potenciálem zkrátit dobu přepravy a efektivněji zvládat vyšší objemy prodeje. Jejich reálný dopad je limitován chybějícími interními daty, což vyžaduje jejich posouzení a konkrétnější propočty firmou před implementací
