Assessment of Carbon Neutrality in the Production and Distribution of Water in Carton Packaging: A Comparative Supplier Analysis
No full textThis thesis focuses on the assessment of carbon neutrality in the production and distribution of water packaged in carton-based containers. The aim was to compare the environmental impact of two leading beverage carton producers – Tetra Pak and Elopak – with a particular emphasis on CO₂ emissions generated during the production, transportation, and end-of-life phases of the packaging. The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, in accordance with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards, was applied to comprehensively evaluate each phase of the product life cycle. The results show that Tetra Pak’s packaging exhibits a lower overall carbon footprint, especially due to the significant net reduction in CO₂ emissions during the end-of-life phase, where material recycling contributes to a savings of approximately 1.15 tonnes of CO₂ per year. In contrast, Elopak generates approximately 1.03 tonnes of CO₂ in the same phase. This difference is primarily due to variations in material composition and recyclability of packaging components. In terms of transportation, Tetra Pak benefits from more efficient logistics and optimized distribution routes. Based on the analysis, several recommendations were proposed to further reduce emissions. These include increasing recycling rates, investing in innovative materials, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, and implementing circular economy models. The conclusions of this study offer valuable insights not only for packaging manufacturers, but also for companies seeking sustainable solutions for water packaging.Tato diplomová práce se zabývá hodnocením uhlíkové neutrality v oblasti výroby a distribuce vody balené v kartonových obalech. Cílem bylo porovnat environmentální dopady dvou předních výrobců nápojových kartonů – společností Tetra Pak a Elopak – se zaměřením na emise oxidu uhličitého (CO₂) vznikající při výrobě, přepravě a likvidaci obalů. Pro analýzu byla využita metodika Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) v souladu s normami ISO 14040 a ISO 14044, která umožnila komplexní vyhodnocení jednotlivých fází životního cyklu produktů. Výsledky ukazují, že obaly Tetra Pak vykazují celkově nižší uhlíkovou stopu, zejména díky významné čisté úspoře emisí CO₂ v závěrečné fázi životního cyklu, kdy je možné recyklací materiálu ušetřit přibližně 1,15 tun CO₂ ročně. Naproti tomu Elopak v této fázi produkuje přibližně 1,03 tun CO₂ ročně. Rozdíl je způsoben zejména odlišným materiálovým složením a mírou recyklovatelnosti jednotlivých komponent. Z hlediska dopravy pak Tetra Pak těží z výhodnější logistiky a optimalizace přepravních tras. Na základě provedené analýzy byla formulována doporučení pro další snížení emisí, která zahrnují například zvýšení míry recyklace, investice do inovativních materiálů, snižování závislosti na fosilních palivech nebo zavádění programů cirkulární ekonomiky. Závěry práce poskytují důležité poznatky nejen pro výrobce obalů, ale i pro firmy hledající udržitelná řešení v oblasti balení vody

Cílem je porovnat přístupy obou zemí a zjistit, v čem se Česká republika může inspirovat rakouským modelem. Práce se zaměřuje na legislativní rámec, technické podmínky a reálné fungování komunitní energetiky. Teoretická část práce představuje samotný pojem komunitní energetiky, její přínosy, základní principy a důvody růstu projektů v Evropě. V praktické části je představen právní základ vycházející z evropských právních předpisů. No full textThe semiconductor industry is a critical driver of modern technology, yet it faces increasing scrutiny regarding its environmental impact. To inform stakeholders, many semiconductor companies release sustainability reports detailing their environmental efforts. However, the complexity and comparability of these reports vary significantly. This thesis conducts a comparative analysis of three key semiconductor manufacturers – Intel, TSMC, and Samsung Electronics – between 2019 and 2023. The main areas of research are greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, water usage, and waste management. This study identifies the varying environmental performance development of the examined companies and implemented mitigating measures. The findings highlight both areas of progress and persistent challenges within the sector. This underscores the need for greater transparency and standardization in sustainability reporting to facilitate the assessment of companies' environmental footprints and the effectiveness of implemented mitigation strategies.Polovodičový průmysl je klíčovým prvkem moderních technologií, avšak čelí rostoucí kritice kvůli svému dopadu na životní prostředí. Z tohoto důvodu mnoho společností v tomto sektoru vydávají zprávy o udržitelnosti, které podrobně popisují jejich environmentální úsilí. Nicméně odlišné množství detailů a absence standardů reportingu vedou k značným rozdílům v těchto zpávách, což tato práce bude zkoušet ohodnotit. Cílem této bakalářské práce je provedení srovnávací analýzy tří klíčových výrobců polovodičů (Intel, TSMC a Samsung Electronics) v období mezi lety 2019 a 2023. Hlavními tématy výzkumu jsou emise skleníkových plynů, spotřeba energie, vody a nakládání s odpady. Tato studie identifikuje odlišný vývoj environmentální výkonnosti zkoumaných společností a rozdílná opatření pro zmírnění dopadů na životní prostředí. Výsledky výzkumu poukazují jak na oblasti pokroku, tak na přetrvávající výzvy v polovodičovém průmyslu. The theoretical part briefly outlines key concepts related to sustainability, with a more in-depth focus on sustainable reporting and ESG issues. It also provides an overview of the legislation and standards governing sustainable reporting and their impacts. The thesis further explores current trends in sustainable reporting within public institutions and specifically presents insights into sustainable reporting in the education sector, its institutional context, and current international practices. The practical part applies the VSME and ESRS standards developed by the EFRAG agency, combined with methods (interviews and questionnaires), in order to create a draft sustainability report. The outcome enabled the assessment of the sustainability performance of the public institution, the identification of key aspects of sustainable reporting relevant to its stakeholders, the formulation of the most relevant recommendations, and the identification of potential benefits of sustainable reporting for the institution, including financial perspectives.Diplomová práca sa zaoberá návrhom reportu udržateľnosti pre vybraný verejný subjekt. V teoretickej časti práca stručne mapuje pojmy súvisiace s udržateľnosťou, podrobnejšie sa zaoberá témou udržateľného reportingu a ESG problematikou. Zároveň poskytuje stručný prehľad legislatívy a štandardov upravujúcich udržateľný reporting a jeho dopady. Práca detailnejšie rozoberá trendy v oblasti udržateľného reportingu vo verejných inštitúciách a predstavuje poznatky o udržateľnom reportingu vo vzdelávacom sektore, jeho inštitucionálny kontext a súčasné metódy v medzinárodnom kontexte. Praktická časť využíva metódy aplikácie štandardov VSME a ESRS od agentúry EFRAG, v kombinácii s metódami rozhovoru a dotazníku, za účelom vytvorenia návrhu reportu udržateľnosti. Vďaka spracovaniu návrhu bolo možné posúdiť výkonnosť verejného subjektu v oblasti udržateľnosti, identifikovať dôležité aspekty udržateľného reportingu pre jeho zainteresované strany, vypracovať najrelevantnejšie odporúčania a odhaliť možné prínosy udržateľného reportingu pre daný subjekt, aj z pohľadu financií.Diplomová práce se zabývá návrhem reportu udržitelnosti pro vybraný veřejný subjekt. V teoretické části práce stručně mapuje pojmy související s udržitelností, podrobněji se věnuje tématu udržitelného reportingu a problematice ESG. Zároveň poskytuje stručný přehled legislativy a standardů upravujících udržitelný reporting a jeho dopady. Ethical and Legal Issues Related to GMOs and Consumers’ Right to Information About GMOs in Food
No full textThe thesis examines the awareness of Czech consumers regarding the presence of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in food, within the context of the European legal framework and related ethical issues. The first part of the thesis focuses on the theoretical definition of the topic. It defines GMOs, outlines the historical development of biotechnology, and presents the legal regulation of genetically modified food within the European Union. Ethical aspects of GMOs are then discussed, considering both opponents and proponents of the use of these technologies. Subsequently, the legal framework concerning GMOs is explored, followed by an analysis of consumer rights to information, as well as the availability and clarity of GMO labeling, including the current technical possibilities for GMO detection. The practical part of the thesis is based on a survey conducted among Czech consumers. The research focused on public attitudes towards GMOs, the level of awareness, and preferences regarding labeling. The results indicate a low level of deeper knowledge of the issue, but at the same time, a strong demand for transparent information and the right to free choice.Práce zkoumá informovanost českých spotřebitelů o přítomnosti geneticky modifikovaných organismů (GMO) v potravinách v kontextu evropského právního rámce a souvisejících etických otázek. První část práce se zaměřuje na teoretické vymezení problematiky. Zde je definováno GMO, přibližený historický vývoj biotechnologií a právní regulace geneticky modifikovaných potravin v rámci Evropské unie. Poté jsou diskutovány etické aspekty GMO, a to jak z pohledu odpůrců, tak zastánců využívání těchto technologií. Následně je přiblížen právní rámec ohledně GMO a v neposlední řadě je analyzováno právo spotřebitelů na informace, dostupnost a srozumitelnost označování GMO, a to i ve světle aktuálních technických možností detekce. Praktická část práce je založena na dotazníkovém šetření mezi českými spotřebiteli. Výzkum se zaměřil na postoje veřejnosti k GMO, míru informovanosti a preference v oblasti označování. Výsledky ukazují nízkou úroveň hlubší znalosti problematiky, ale zároveň vysokou poptávku po transparentních informacích a právu na svobodnou volbu
Analysis of Orders and Demand in Telecommunications
No full textThis thesis focuses on the analysis of orders and demand within a telecommunications company and the design of an effective reporting tool in Power BI to support strategic decision-making in the field of demand management. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with the analysis of the telecommunications sector, providing a detailed description of the structure and current challenges of the global, European, and Czech telecommunications markets. It also explores the anatomy of a telecommunications company. The practical part builds upon the theoretical foundations and applies them to a specific case within a telecommunications company. In this section, a reporting tool in Power BI is designed, allowing management to monitor and optimize the handling of orders and demand. The implementation includes an analysis of the current state, identification of problem areas in the process of handling demand and orders, and subsequent proposals for improvement through visualizations and interactive dashboards. The result is the creation of multiple reports and dashboards that contribute to faster and more accurate decision-making in demand management, thereby improving response time and efficiency in demand handling.Táto diplomová práca sa zaoberá analýzou objednávok a dopytu v telekomunikačnej spoločnosti a návrhom efektívneho reportovacieho nástroja v Power BI na podporu strategického rozhodovania v oblasti demand managementu. Práca je rozdelená na teoretickú a praktickú časť. Teoretická časť sa zaoberá analýzou telekomunikačného sektora, kde je detailne popísaná štruktúra a aktuálne výzvy globálneho, európskeho a českého telekomunikačného trhu. Okrem toho sa venuje aj anatómii telekomunikačnej spoločnosti. Praktická časť stavia na teoretických základoch a aplikuje ich na konkrétny prípad v telekomunikačnej spoločnosti. V tejto časti je navrhnutý reportovací nástroj v Power BI, ktorý umožňuje manažmentu sledovať a optimalizovať riadenie objednávok a dopytov. Implementácia zahŕňa analýzu aktuálneho stavu, identifikáciu problémových oblastí v procese spracovania dopytov a objednávok a následné návrhy na zlepšenie prostredníctvom vizualizácií a interaktívnych dashboardov. Výsledkom je vytvorenie viacerých reportov a dashboardov, ktoré prispievajú k rýchlejšiemu a presnejšiemu rozhodovaniu v oblasti demand managementu, čím sa zlepšuje reakčný čas a efektivita v správe dopytu.Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou objednávek a poptávky v telekomunikační společnosti a návrhem efektivního reportovacího nástroje v Power BI na podporu strategického rozhodování v oblasti řízení poptávky. The aim is to analyze the effects of addictions, such as absenteeism, turnover, and reduced morale, and to propose preventive and intervention strategies that employers and HR departments can utilize to minimize these negative outcomes. The thesis focuses on the role of HR in the process of identifying and preventing addictions, the tools and programs organizations can implement, and the importance of leadership and employer support for employees. Particular emphasis is placed on HR personnel training, consultations, therapy, and the development of corporate policies aimed at addressing addictions. The analysis also includes Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and their benefits in managing addiction-related challenges. The thesis also discusses the influence of organizational culture on approaches to addictions and how employer support can contribute to the destigmatization of addictions and the creation of a safe working environment. Impact of VAT on the book market in the Czech Republic
No full textThe aim of the thesis was to measure the impact of the VAT reduction on books in the Czech Republic. A Chow test was used to determine whether the introduction of a second reduced VAT rate of 10 % on books in 2015 caused a structural break in book prices, whereas before 2015 books were subject to a 15% VAT rate. However, the results showed that the structural break in prices occurred only in two of the six categories that were subject to a price increase after the reduction in the VAT rate on books. The effects of moving books from a taxable supply subject to a 10% VAT rate to an exempt supply eligible for deduction were measured. This was done by comparing the prices of a sample of books from before and after the change, and measuring tax incidence using the Petr David's method. It was found that for most of the books studied, there was no reduction in the price of books after the reduction in the VAT rate on books, but on average there was a slight increase in price.Cílem diplomové práce bylo změřit dopady snížení DPH na knihy v České republice. Chowovým testem bylo odhaleno, zda zavedení druhé snížené sazby DPH na knihy ve výši 10 % v roce 2015 způsobilo strukturální zlom ve vývoji cen knih, přičemž před rokem 2015 knihy podléhaly 15% sazbě DPH. Výsledky však ukázaly, že strukturální zlom v cenách nastal pouze u dvou z celkových šesti sledovaných kategorií, u kterých došlo po snížení sazby DPH na knihy ke zdražení. Změřeny byly dopady přesunu knih ze zdanitelného plnění podléhajícího 10% sazbě DPH do osvobozeného plnění s nárokem na odpočet. To bylo provedeno porovnáním cen vzorku knih z doby před změnou a po změně, a změřením daňové incidence pomocí metody Petra Davida. Zjištěno bylo, že u většiny sledovaných knih nedošlo po snížení sazby DPH na knihy ke snížení jejich cen, v průměru naopak došlo k mírnému zdražení

No full textThis diploma thesis focuses on the analysis of the recruitment and selection processes at the company 2JCP. The aim of the thesis is to propose recommendations for optimizing these processes within the selected company. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The theoretical part summarizes the key principles related to the recruitment and selection of employees. The practical part is dedicated to analyzing the current setup of these processes at 2JCP. Semi-structured interviews and a questionnaire survey were employed as the primary research methods for the practical part of the thesis. Based on the findings, recommendations were formulated to serve as a basis for improving the efficiency of the recruitment and selection processes within the selected company.Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na analýzu procesů získávání a výběru zaměstnanců ve společnosti 2JCP. Hlavním cílem práce je navrhnout doporučení k optimalizaci získávání a výběru zaměstnanců ve zvolené firmě. Diplomová práce se skládá ze dvou dílčích částí. Teoretická část práce shrnuje klíčová východiska z oblasti získávání a výběru zaměstnanců. Praktická část se věnuje analýze současného nastavení těchto procesů ve společnosti 2JCP. Pro účely praktické části byly jako primární metody výzkumu využity polostrukturované rozhovory a dotazníkové šetření. Na základě výsledků provedené analýzy jsou v práci formulována doporučení, která byla navržena tak, aby sloužila jako podklad pro efektivnější nastavení procesů získávání a výběru zaměstnanců ve vybrané společnosti
