    No full text
The present study sought to investigate the impact ofpersonality traits on academic motivation measured by theMUSIC inventory. Personality traits are known as importantfactors that are related to the motivation and specifically, toacademic motivation. This is a topic of interest because due tothe interest of many people in studying and the pressure forobtaining better academic results, also it is considered thatunderstanding the relationship these two, personality andmotivation, could play an important role in improving teaching. The hypothesis was that students' personality traits, measuredusing The Leonhard-Shmishek questionnaire, have an impact onacademic motivation, measured by the MUSIC inventory. Thesample of this study consisted of a voluntary group of 28 studentswho studied the Psychology of education in the first year of thepsycho-pedagogical module, from several specializations. Thestudy had a cross-sectional design. The search of results for thisstudy was accomplished through correlation and regressionanalysis. Interpretation of results from this study suggested thatthe hypothesis of this study was only partially confirmed, out of10 personality traits measured by the Leonhard-Shmishekquestionnaire in this small sample only three of them (dysthymic, hyperthymic and anxious) have been found to have a linear ornonlinear impact on some of academic motivation the scales(empowerment, interest, success and caring) measured byMUSIC questionnaire. Results obtained suggests that when areconsidered the effects of personality traits on academicmotivation could prove worthful to consider different types ofimpacts not only the ”linear” one

IS THERE REALLY A GENERATIONAL GAP? CHARACTERISTICS, VALUES AND HOW TO TALK TO EACH GENERATION: 10.24250/jpe/1/2024/SV/

    No full text
Every twenty years or so, a new generation emerges, in the sense of a large group of individuals with their own set of characteristics. And each generation is slightly different than the previous ones, and faces challenges in communicating with other generations. In this theoretical research, we analyze the various generations that exist, with a focus on their main characteristics, similarities and differences. There are six main generations, from the beginning of the 20th century (around 1920’s till present day): (1) the mature generation; (2) baby boomers; (3) generation X; (4) generation Y; (5) generation Z and (5) generation Alpha. The purpose is to give a broad view about their main traits and recommendations about how to talk to each generation and we hope these ideas will help improve communication both at work, on a professional level and between generations, mainly on a personal level

The results indicate acomplicated dynamic of parental relations both in intact familiesand in separated families, single-parent families, etc

THE INFLUENCE OF EXPIRED MEDICINES ON PLANT PHOTOSYNTHESIS PARAMETERS AND CHLOROPHYLL PIGMENTS

    Get PDF
This study examines the influence of expired pharmaceuticals on Brassica oleracea var. Buzau, grown at three different CO2 concentrations, focusing on photosynthetic parameters and chlorophyll pigment concentrations. Active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and excipients in expired drugs pose significant environmental and public health risks through improper disposal, leading to soil and water contamination. Pharmaceuticals in the soil significantly impact plant photosynthesis, reducing net assimilation rates and stomatal conductance. Additionally, they cause a marked decrease in chlorophyll a and b concentrations due to toxic effects that degrade chlorophyll and inhibit its biosynthesis. However, an increase in zeaxanthin concentration suggests an adaptive response to oxidative stress. While total phenol concentrations remain relatively unaffected, flavonoid levels significantly decline, disrupting secondary plant metabolism. Elevated CO2 levels can stimulate phenolic compound synthesis, partially offsetting the negative impacts of pharmaceuticals. The antioxidant activity of plants is also compromised, as indicated by altered inhibition percentages due to reduced phenol concentrations essential for soil microbial activity and chemical reactions. These findings highlight the need for understanding the combined effects of pharmaceuticals and elevated CO2 on plant health and stress the importance of managing soil contamination to protect ecological health and agricultural productivity
