VOLUNTEERING AS A PLATFORM FOR FUTURE CAREERS: HOW CIVIC ENGAGEMENT HELPS YOUTH BUILD THEIR PROFESSIONAL FUTURE: 10.24250/jpe/1/2025/CID/
Volunteering is often viewed as a noble act of giving back tothe community. However, it also serves as a powerful platformfor personal and professional development. This article exploreshow civic engagement through volunteering influences the futurecareers of young individuals, focusing on sociological andpsychological scales used to measure the impact on 55 studentsfrom the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Arad, specifically11th and 12th graders. The findings reveal significant benefits inskill development, social capital, and career orientation
EQUITY AND JUSTICE IN THE INCLUSIVE EDUCATION MODEL – THE CASE OF CHILDREN WITH HIGH ABILITIES: 10.24250/jpe/si/2025/CN/
This paper explores theories of social justice and equity inthe inclusive education, focusing particularly on giftedlearners as a marginalized group. While inclusiveeducation has become central in addressing educationaljustice, its implementation is uneven, especially when itcomes to children with high abilities. Giftedness lacksconsistent recognition in policy and practice, leading tolimited support structures compared to the area ofdisabilities. Teachers' attitudes toward the education ofchildren with high abilities are shaped by concerns aboutelitism and a narrow focus on standardized achievement, often neglecting humanistic values such as acceptance ofdiversity. Although inclusive settings can benefit allstudents socially and academically, many educators feelunprepared to differentiate instruction effectively bybalancing fairness, effort, and performance with limitedresources. This dilemma reflects broader systemic issues ineducation policy, which continues to prioritize norm-basedperformance over individual progress. The paper arguesthat true inclusion requires both redistribution of resourcesand recognition of diversity of learners, but also a shifttoward bottom-up approaches that empower teachers andlearners and recognize giftedness as a developmental,context-sensitive phenomenon that deserves equitableeducational support
FROM HUMAN CAPITAL TO HUMAN DEVELOPMENT: THE TRANSFORMATIVE POTENTIAL OF MONTESSORI EDUCATION: 10.24250/jpe/si/2025/SS/
This paper explores the potential of Montessori education tocontribute to a transition from the dominant human capitalparadigm to a human development perspective, asconceptualised by Amartya Sen. Drawing on the work ofMaria Montessori, it argues that true social defence doesnot rely on weaponry or economic productivity, but ratheron forming individuals capable of living freely andharmoniously with others. Montessori’s vision, whichprioritises autonomy, empathy, and social cohesion, resonates with contemporary calls for education thatfosters not only cognitive skills but also human dignity andinterdependence. While empirical studies confirm that Montessori studentsperform equally or better in academic assessments, thisalone is insufficient. The true promise of Montessorieducation lies in its potential to cultivate reflective, sociallyresponsible individuals. However, such potential iscontingent upon faithful implementation of Montessoriprinciples. Based on recent research from differentcountries, the article highlights structural and culturalobstacles to high-fidelity implementation, especially inpublic education systems. The paper concludes that quantitative growth ofMontessori schools must be accompanied by qualitativeimprovement to truly impact social cohesion and peacebuilding.Educational reform is thus essential—not only tosafeguard the Montessori legacy, but to make education atool for human flourishing
PARENTAL MODELS AND THE DYNAMICS OF EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS: A RELATIONAL PERSPECTIVE: 10.24250/jpe/si/2025/ES/AFR/
This article explores the influence of parental models on thedynamics of educational partnerships, emphasizing arelational perspective. Educational partnerships—definedas the collaborative relationships between families andschools—are essential for creating a cohesive supportsystem around the student. However, such partnerships arenot merely procedural; they are relational in nature, deeply influenced by the emotional, communicational, andbehavioral models that parents display both at home and ininteractions with the school. Using a blend of theoreticalreferences and qualitative insights from eight interviewedteachers, this paper identifies patterns in how parents’attitudes, consistency, and openness affect the climate ofcollaboration with educational institutions. Additionally, the article incorporates personal reflections drawn frompractical educational contexts. Findings suggest thatsuccessful partnerships emerge when parents act aspositive role models, communicate respectfully, and showtrust in educators. These dynamics not only support studentdevelopment but also foster a school culture built oncooperation, empathy, and shared goals
BIOSYNTHESIZED GOLD NANOPARTICLES FROM HEDERA HELIX BIOMASS WASTE
Hedera helix is an evergreen perennial vine plant often pruned for ornamental or ecological purposes. This process generates a significant amount of biomass waste. Therefore, this study aimed to use this biomass to obtainextracts rich in phenolic compounds and as a mediator for the biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). Biochemicalassays (DPPH, FRAP, Folin–Ciocalteu, and colorimetric determination of total flavonoid content) revealed that theextracts have significant radical scavenging activity and moderate phenolic and flavonoid compound levels. Thesefindings were further supported by UHPLC analysis, providing insight into the chemical composition of these extracts.Only the most efficient extract (water infusion) was further used for AuNPs synthesis in three different synthesismedium concentrations of HAuCl4 (0.5, 1, and 2 mM). Visual and UV-Vis spectroscopy analyses revealed the successfulformation of AuNPs, while SEM-EDS analysis confirmed the morphology (spherical and polydisperse nanoparticles)and elemental composition. The antimicrobial activity was evaluated through the broth microdilution method againstfive microbial strains (Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Candida albicans) and two antibiotics (penicillin and gentamicin). The resulting bacterial inhibition rate (BIR%)revealed a low inhibitory activity for AuNPs, significantly lower than for the tested antibiotics. It suggests that furtherAuNPs functionalizations may be required to increase their biological activit

An Application of Pescar’s Univalence Criterion
Pescar has obtained a generalization of Ahlfor’s and Becker’s criterion of univalence. In this paper we generalize the Pescar’s univalence criterion for other two operators and we obtain new univalence conditions of analytic functions in the unit dis
Design and Scheduling of Chemical Batch Processes: Generalizing a Deterministic to a Stochastic Model
A stochastic optimization model for the design and scheduling of batch chemical processes is developed in a Two-StageStochastic Programming framework, with the uncertainty formulated through a number of discrete scenarios. The sparse modelpresents binary variables in the first stage and systematically generalizes a deterministic model chosen from the literature, in anapproach based on computational complexity. The combination of single product campaign (SPC) with multiple machines wasfound to be the most promising from a computational standpoint, and it is here generalized toward a stochastic environment withinthe relaxation of the soft demand constraints. Numerical examples are presented, and the results point to a significant reduction of8-20 % of the investment costs in comparison to the SPC non-relaxed case, without real losses if the multiple product campaign(MPC) policy is adopted
On Vector Valued Periodic Distributions
In this paper we consider vector valued (X-valued with X a Banach space) distributions on the euclidean space Rd, extendingthe T-periodicity, and the T-periodic transform with T = (T1; ::::; Td) 2 Rd, Ti > 0 from the scalar case to the Banach space valuedcase.Besides immediate basic properties of these concepts, a realization of the space of X-valued T-periodic distributions, up to atoplinear isomorphism, as the space of all bounded linear operators from the space of T-periodic test functions to the Banach spaceX is given
