    No full text
The present study sought to investigate second timethe MUSIC inventory reliability and structure validity but, in alarger sample. Published research using multiple samplesindicated that MUSIC inventory had excellent Cronbach’sAlpha values for each scale and the structure validly wasconsidered acceptable by more authors, even there have beenfound higher correlations between its scales. The hypothesis wasthat the students' perceptions measured using MUSIC inventorywould prove the reliability and construct validity of thetranslated version. The sample of this study consisted of avoluntary group of 215 students, mainly enrolled in the Master'sPrograms: Educational Management - first and second year andPsychopedagogy of Early Education - first and second year. Thestudy had a cross-sectional design. The structure of the study issimilar to the previous one, with the intention to make theirresults comparable. Also, the same statistical analyses wereperformed: reliability analysis (Cronbach’s Alpha), factoranalysis and correlation analysis. Interpretation of results fromthis study suggested that the hypothesis of the study was againonly partially confirmed, reliability was proved by CronbachAlpha coefficients to be excellent (between ,946 - ,970) for allscales. Related to the construct validity of the inventory, resultsnot confirmed the theoretical structure. Due to high correlationamong all MUSIC items, inventory theoretical structure issusceptible not working properly in all samples

PERCEPTION: FOOD CHALLENGES, OTHER FACTORS HINDER STUDENTS OF RURAL AREAS IN SOME SOKOTO NORTH-EASTERN LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS FROM PROCEEDING TO HIGHER INSTITUTIONS: 10.24250/jpe/1/2025/YS/

This study investigates the factors affecting rural students'progression to higher institutions in some local governments ofnortheastern Sokoto, Nigeria. The findings reveal that 70.0% ofrespondents attend school without food, while 30.0% bring food. The majority (73.0%) agree that food insecurity affects theireducation. Socioeconomic factors, including father's income andeducation, also impact rural students' ability to pursue highereducation. Educational factors, such as access to educationaltools and school type, also play a significant role. Culturalfactors, including cultural background and perceivedimportance of education, also influence rural students'educational aspirations. The study recommends improvingagriculture in rural areas, providing more teachers and funding, and addressing cultural ideals that may discourage education. The findings have implications for policymakers and educatorsseeking to promote equitable access to higher education for ruralstudents in Nigeria

School dropout is a significant problem area in manyEuropean countries, including Romania, with serious economic, social and educational implications (Gorghiu, et al., 2020; Popeducationalpolicies in the EU and Romaniathat prevent school dropout. We used the ERIC and GoogleScholar search engines using the key terms school dropout, policies, school dropout prevention. 21 articles were selectedand included in the narrative review. The study aims to identifythe determinants of school dropout and evaluate the measuresimplemented to prevent it. The results indicate that policies thatinclude integrated measures, involving families, schools andcommunities, are the most effective in preventing school dropout(Sahin, Arseven, 2016)

HOW PRESCHOOL CHILDREN SPEND THEIR FREE TIME: 10.24250/jpe/1/2025/DL/

    No full text
The research aimed to analyze how preschoolchildren spend their free time. Three research objectiveswere outlined: identifying parents' perceptions ofpreschoolers' free time, analyzing the locations wherepreschool children spend their free time, and identifyingleisure activities for preschoolers, including analyzingthe gender perspective in choosing leisure options. Theparticipant group comprised 130 subjects, parents ofpreschool children, who responded to a questionnaire. The most selected leisure options for children were asfollows: "playgrounds equipped for children" (M=3.69;SD=.703), "parks" in general (M=3.55; SD=1.086), and"puppet theaters/places where children’s shows are held"(M=2.90 SD=.939). Preferred free-time activities withparents include: "playing various games with the child"(M=4.30; SD=.920), "going outside to play with otherchildren" (M=4.18; SD=.952), and "taking walks orgoing out in nature" (M=4.11 SD=.990). Outdooractivities are favored by preschool children, regardlessof gender, while indoor activities complement these

BUILDING ADOLESCENT RESILIENCE THROUGH EDUCATION: THE ROLE OF TEACHERS IN STRENGTHENING POSITIVE PARENTING: 10.24250/jpe/si/2025/AC/MGA/

The article investigates the contribution of teachers to thedevelopment of adolescent resilience by cultivating aninclusive educational climate and by stimulating acollaborative relationship between school, family andcommunity. Based on self-determination and ecologicaltheories of development, the interactions betweenindividual and contextual factors that facilitate the positiveadaptation of young people are analyzed. The importanceof the support provided by teachers in reinforcing positiveparenting styles and in promoting a multisystemic networkof support for adolescents is highlighted

The design and scheduling of chemical batch processes: building heuristics and probabilistic analysis

    Get PDF
The number of industrial cases published in the design and scheduling of batch multiproduct plants is short, and the diffculties to solve largemodels of this kind are well known, since their modeling usually consider variables integrality and data uncertainty. One way to address suchdiffculties is to use analytical studies to obtain significant improvements in algorithms and problem structures. Several MILP models from theopen literature are selected focusing the successive generalizations on the options set, namely: from single machine to multiple parallel machines(identified by S or M) in each stage; and from single product campaigns to multiple products campaigns (S or M too). Four models (hereby SS,MS, SM, MM) that consider zero wait operations are thus analyzed and compared, and several heuristics are developed in order to produce goodapproximations to the objective function’s value and to the binary solution. Then, the probabilistic analysis of the heuristics was performed: thedeviations on the objective function values, the deviations on the binary solutions, and the computational times are evaluated. The analysis bothallowed the certification of the modeling and the numerical implementation. The model MS, addressing multiple machines and SPC, is found to bethe most promising model to further developments that aim the design and scheduling of batch processes in stochastic and robust frameworks

Satellite Constellation Reconfiguration Using the Approximating Sequence Riccati Equations

    Get PDF
In this work we study the reconfiguration of a constellation of satellite. In this work we consider the non-linearfeedback optimal control of the motion of a spacecraft under the influence of the gravitational attraction of a centralbody, the Earth in our case, and we would like to transfer the spacecraft from lower circular orbit to a higher one. Bothorbits around the Earth are assumed to be circular and coplanar. We use both radial and tangential thrust control. Thenonlinear dynamics of the system will be factorized in such a way that the new factorized system is accessible. Theproblem is tackled using the Approximating Sequence Riccati Equations (ASRE) method. The technique is based onLinear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) with fixed terminal state, which guarantees closed loop solution. The method istested through GNSS circular constellation

On the Divisibility of Trinomials by Maximum Weight Polynomials over F2

    Get PDF
Divisibility of trinomials by given polynomials over finite fields has been studied and used to construct orthogonalarrays in recent literature. Dewar et al. (Dewar et al., 2007) studied the division of trinomials by a given pentanomialover F2 to obtain the orthogonal arrays of strength at least 3, and finalized their paper with some open questions. Oneof these questions is concerned with generalizations to the polynomials with more than five terms. In this paper, weconsider the divisibility of trinomials by a given maximum weight polynomial over F2 and apply the result to theconstruction of the orthogonal arrays of strength at least 3

Coupled Systems of Fractional Integro-Dierential Equations Involving Several Functions

    Get PDF
This paper studies the existence of solutions for a coupled system of nonlinear fractional integro-dierentialequations involving Riemann-Liouville integrals with several continuous functions. New existence and uniquenessresults are established using Banach fixed point theorem, and other existence results are obtained using Schaefer fixedpoint theorem. Some illustrative examples are also presented
