Evaluation of Classification Models in Machine Learning

We study the problem of evaluation of different classification models that are used in machine learning. Thereason of the model evaluation is to find the optimal solution from various classification models generated in aniterated and complex model building process. Depending on the method of observing, there are different measuresfor evaluation the performance of the model. To evaluate classification models the most direct criterion that can bemeasured quantitatively is the classification accuracy. The main disadvantages of accuracy as a measure for evaluationare as follows: neglects the differences between the types of errors and it dependent on the distribution of class in thedataset. In this paper we discussed selection of the most appropriate measures depends on the characteristics of theproblem and the various ways it can be implemented

Non-Computable, Indiscernible and Uncountable Mathematical Constructions. Sub-Cardinals and Related Paradoxes

One of the most important achievements of the last century is the knowledge of the existence of non-countablesets. The proof by Cantor’s diagonal method requires the assumption of actual infinity. By two paradoxes we show thatthis method sometimes proves nothing because of it can involve self-referential definitions. To avoid this inconvenient,we introduce another proving method based upon the information in the involved object definitions. We also introducethe concepts of indiscernible mathematical construction and sub-cardinal. In addition, we show that the existence ofindiscernible mathematical constructions is an unavoidable consequence of uncountability

Improving The Methods Of Training And Selection Of Female Handball Players: 10.62591/ajpa.2025.13.03

    No full text
The theory and methodology of physical education and sports is the science that studies the laws of physical education and sports. Handball is a means of physical education, because it contributes to improving health, harmonious physical development, the development of motor and mental qualities, as well as the acquisition of motor skills. In order to achieve high results, it is necessary to practice it within sports teams in which the training work must be well planned and carried out on a scientific basis. The road to the heights of sports mastery is difficult, requires a lot of work and very careful and, above all, continuous training. However, mastery is achieved faster than in other sports games. The purpose of this work is to develop and experimentally implement a training program that includes proprioceptive means, oriented towards optimizing the means of training and selection of players for the game of handball, juniors III, in order to maximize the use of performance skills. The results obtained in the physical assessment are very good, which indicates that, in the physical training and selection process, means and exercise structures appropriate to the children's age were used

PARENTAL SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS AND EDUCATION AS PREDICTORS OF BIOLOGY ACHIEVEMENT AMONG SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN LAGOS STATE: 10.24250/jpe/2/2025/ISR/

Despite the centrality of Biology to science education andits role in preparing students for careers in medicine, agriculture, and environmental science, persistentunderachievement has been reported in externalexaminations. This study investigated the influence ofparental background and parental education on theacademic achievement of senior secondary school Biologystudents in Lagos State, Nigeria. The study adopted adescriptive survey research design, drawing a stratifiedrandom sample of 300 students across public and privateschools in Education District VI. Two instruments wereused for data collection: the Biology Achievement Test(BAT) and the Parental Socio-Economic InfluenceQuestionnaire (PSEIQ). Data were analysed usingPearson’s Product-Moment Correlation and one-wayAnalysis of Variance (ANOVA). Findings revealed thatparental socio-economic status significantly shapedstudents’ Biology performance, with learners from higherstatusfamilies attaining better results. Similarly, parentallevel of education was found to exert a marked influence,as students whose parents had tertiary educationoutperformed those from households where parents hadonly primary or secondary schooling. These outcomesaffirm that disparities in Biology achievement extendbeyond classroom instruction, reflecting broadersocioeconomic and educational inequalities. The studyrecommends that parental factors be systematicallyconsidered when addressing underachievement in science, and that multi-level strategies be designed to reducedisparities linked to family background. In particular, policies and interventions in Lagos State should not onlyenhance school-level provision but also engage withfamily-related inequalities, while lessons from this context can contribute to international debates on equity in scienceeducation

One of the ambitions of any civilized society is to ensure ahealthy start in life for children. To this end, kindergartenscreate a healthy environment for children's developmentand contribute to this start. Educators' knowledge ofcurrent health models, but also of the models of the parentsof children in kindergarten, contributes to appropriatechoices for children in terms of developing food awareness, healthy behavior, and creating appropriate health models. The study was conducted in three kindergartens andinvolved 24 educators and 89 parents. After applying thetwo questionnaires to highlight the starting points (onvarious health issues), a long-term intervention wasdeveloped for both categories of respondents. The resultsobtained highlight the importance of interventions at thekindergarten level

CHILDHOOD AND CHILDREN OF YESTERDAY AND TODAY: A QUALITATIVE STUDY: 10.24250/jpe/2/2025/PLR/RR/

    No full text
The authors compare the children of yesterday and today from the perspective of eight adults of different age, sex, professional training, and nationality, interviewed about their own childhood and on how they see today’s children, to identify similarities and differences and to find remedial solutions. The method is qualitative, and the technique is that of the interview. For those interviewed, childhood meant freedom, joy, outdoor play, family, and flying; family members and teachers had the greatest impact on childhood. Compared to the children of yesteryear, today’s children are both happy and unhappy. Yesterday’s children were happy, fulfilled, modest, contented, grateful, respectful, and simple; today’s children are creative, beautiful, informed, intelligent, ambitious, critical, brave, and free, but also uncommunicative, bored, absent, disoriented, and without models. Remedial solutions should target the causes that have led to these mutations: broken families, social media, and technology

“DOG LEGENDS”- RETURNING TO MYTH: A NARRATIVE MODEL FOR EDUCATION AND MEANING IN THE TECHNOLOGICAL ERA: 10.24250/jpe/2/2025/MCMC/

In the contemporary context marked by accelerateddigitalization and increasing frequency of identity crisis ofchildren and adolescents, story reemerges as a powerfuleducational, symbolic, and therapeutic tool. “DogLegends” is a transdisciplinary narrative project whichreinterprets Campbell’s hero’s myth through a series ofstories that combine archetypal symbolism, artificialintelligence, and innovative educational applications.Inspired by the 6 archetypes model proposed by Carol S.Pearson (“The Hero Within: Six Archetypes We Live By”),these stories offer a frame for emotional and morallearning through some canine emblematic characters,Shiba- The Orphan, Rey- The Altruist, Ryo- The Warrior, and Algo the degu squirrel- The Innocent. These symbolicfigures become mirrors for identity formation processes, offering children and educators a language through whichthey can explore vulnerability, courage, care, andmeaning. By integrating contemporary narrativetechnologies- 3D Pixar style animations, avatars generatedby AI (artificial intelligence), and interactive storytelling-“Dog Legends” series become an educational ecosystemthat can be applied both in schools or therapeuticinterventions or personal development. This paperproposes a cultural and pedagogical analysis of the waymyth can have a new manifestation in the digital era, notas a relic of the past, but as a live instrument forcultivating empathy, critical thinking, and social cohesion. Thus, “Dog Legends” is shaping as a model integrated atthe intersection of story, symbol, and technology

IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE THROUGH VIRTUAL REALITY: EMOTIONAL REGULATION IN ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES USING THE LIMINAL VR PLATFORM: 10.24250/jpe/1/2025/MCM/MGA

This research paper aims to explore the integration of thevirtual reality (VR) along with the emotional journaling in orderto improve emotional regulation and also to reduce the selfharmingbehaviors in a participant with severe intellectualdisabilities (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Theintervention included three sessions using the Cosmic FlowScenario on the Liminal VR (ArborXR, n.d.) platform togetherwith daily emotional journaling based on Paul Ekman’suniversal emotions (Ekman, n.d.). The results highlighted majorimprovements in emotional self-regulation, reflected in anincreased Emotional Balance Coefficient from 0.75 to 2.5 andthe termination of self-harming behaviors. The observationsunderscore the potential of VR interventions in social work, emphasising their scalability for broader application, in spite ofthe challenges such as costs and accessibility. Future research isneeded to investigate long-term impacts and group-basedimplementations (Yalon-Chamovitz & Weiss 2008)
