    Get PDF
The paper focuses on several regulatory issues related to road safety and data protection. Among other things, it discusses the requirements and the role of the driver, the homologation of self-driving cars and the regulation of the different types of data used and produced by autonomous driving systems, considering the different levels of automation identified in the SAE standard J3016. The recent development of autonomous vehicles asks for regulatory intervention, in relation to road safety and privacy. Therefore, after analyzing the state of the art on road traffic regulation, the contribution proposes the analogical application of some rules relating as well as the introduction of ad hoc legislation for autonomous driving

The paper focuses on the birth, diffusion and possible development of democratic linguistic education in Italy, with specific reference to the Dieci Tesi of 1975. More specifically, I have examined in depth the cultural climate of the school before the issue as well as during their emergence and development in the following years. The aim is to define hypothetical trends about the evolution of principles and educational practice of the Dieci Tesi within the contemporary school context in response to emerging linguistic needs and in order to protect language differences at school. Three trends are outlined in particular: plurilingualism, multimodality and intermediality.

The article proposes to education professionals a reflection on the need to think about families starting from the way of being a family and not from pre-packaged (and easily exploitable) ideas. Starting from the concept of family as a particular and complex form of aggregation of people and in the light of the repercussions and implications that such a reading of the family has on people’s educational and existential styles, the connection of the concept of family with the idea of non-linear evolution of civilisation is considered and Dewey’s concept of experience is recalled, which allows boundaries to be crossed rather than setting up ideological and paradigmatic barriers. This need also appears to be reinforced by the changes and transformations engaging families in times of Covid-19 pandemic and, also for this reason, requires a professional pedagogical view that is able to move within and beyond the conceptions of family, to identify and understand the family paradigms with which one is confronted in the course of the educational work.

Poetiche dell’immaginario trasfigurativo. Abitare il carcere in forma di sceneggiatura

The fiction of the screenplay (and of the film) Ariaferma are an opportunity to look at the prison as a kitchen, a vegetable garden or more properly a living space such as a garden or as a table attended by many and different guests who toast together to a better future that take them elsewhere. This gaze is joined by that which recognizes in the specific places where the facts occur a profound sense of abandonment and exclusion that denounces a lack of attention and those care practices necessary to make prison an institution to be relocated to the wider social geography. educational and training policies. This is why the contribution uses the fiction of the script to retrace those topoi useful for rethinking the prison as a social space in which to work to implement the policy of care necessary for a pedagogical gaze that wants to find the vital space of transformation in educational practice.

“You should have done it earlier”: The morality of time management in parent-child homework interactions

    No full text
In recent years, research on family life has stressed that time management strategies constitute a survival skill for fast-paced, modern families. Despite its crucial importance, however, time management is still little explored as an interactive accomplishment of family members and a socializing experience. Adopting a Conversation Analysis informed approach, this article analyzes video-recorded parent-child interactions about time management during homework. The analysis illustrates that parents put homework first in the temporal sequence of children’s routines, constituting it as an activity that should be carried out early in the afternoon, before any other enterprise, and with no interruption. In the conclusion, we argue that parent-child conversations about time management and priorities constitute a locus where moral stances and cultural beliefs are displayed. By taking part in such ordinary interactions, children are socialized not only to the importance of homework as emerging from its temporal collocation, but also to the cultural value of time and morally appropriate ways of using it

The Lunar Time of Study: A Rhythmanalysis of Education’s Endarkenment

    No full text
This article proposes a necessary link between studying and nighttime. This connection manifests itself in four dimensions of study. First, in the use of stars to mark the best things in a text. Second, the rhythmic nature of studying a text (turning pages and returning to passages marked with stars) replicates the unending ebb and flow of the tides under the influence of the moon. Third, the studier undergoes a monstrous transformation from a productive citizen to an addict, not unlike the transformation of the human into the werewolf. And finally, the studier ultimately studies the darkness of texts, finding in that darkness a new potentiality. These four dimensions are then compared to the diurnal, linear repetitions of the traditional classroom and the activity of learning

LIMINAL SPACES OF MIGRANT RECEPTION IN TIMES OF CRISIS

    No full text
Governments measures to contain the COVID-19 pandemic had a strong impact on migration, involving the closing of borders and of asylum applications in several European countries. At the same time, civil society support to migrants was almost completely stopped. Just like in the 2015-18 refugee reception crisis, however, new initiatives and forms of solidarity emerged during the COVID-19 crisis. These largely employed online channels and involved small organizations, volunteers, activists and local government personnel in surprising numbers of support activities. Civil society initiatives and practices aimed to provide migrants with a space for reception and support when formal reception spaces (e.g. reception centres) were shut down and isolated, under such exceptional circumstances as strong confinement and full lockdown. We draw on ethnographic fieldwork conducted in Belgium during two crises (the 2015-18 refugee reception crisis and the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic) to identify and discuss the “space of reception” as a key concept to understand civil society solidarity towards migrants in contemporary societies. We see the action of mobilized citizens as twofold. On one hand they filled the gaps of the asylum system, as pointed out in recent scholarship; on the other hand, they transformed the space of reception by mediating it within the social context, filling it with activities and relations, and ultimately broadening it to cope with the crisis and create the best possible conditions for the reception and integration of vulnerable migrants. Keywords:Refugees and Asylum Seekers, Reception Crisis, COVID-19, Civil Society Solidarity, Reception Space, Belgiu

    No full text
