Should I Install LaTeX , MiKTeX or TexStudio?

    No full text
In various guises, this is a common question, innocent, but actually betraying a fundamental confusion about TeX evolution, directory, and the levels of operation in the TeX/LaTeX family and friends. TeX is a macro typesetting language developed by Donald E. Knuth, and today’s worldwide de facto standard for high-quality digital document typesetting for writers/authors in the academics and publishers of journals and books, including Elsevier, PlosOne, JSON and Nature Springer. LateX and ConTeXt are the two main evolution and revolutionary development 'on top of TeX'. LaTeX is an extension of TeX typesetting macro created by Leslie Lamport, with addition of standard packages and features for plain-tex contents using markup language syntax. It is a free document typesetting and processing system for creating high quality rich document format. That is, outputs in device transferable formats (DVI, PDF, HTML, etc) suitable for websites and submission to journals, academic institutions and publishers for ultimate publication. It is in principle and editing style different from a Word Processor, to encourage and enable authors concentrate more on writing rich contents, leaving document design to expert document designers. MiKTeX is a modern TeX distribution for Microsoft Windows, Linux and macOS, while TexStudio (likewise TeXnicenter) are GUI TeX document editors. This article clears the confusion and give a comprehensive introduction to anyone, (authors including academics) to choose between TeX/LaTeX distributions and editors to install given offered particular feature advantages, the particular of the users' academic field and level of productivity on their project, report or document. **** *SIGNIFICANCE: The author relied on primary source documents, chats with LaTeX development members on stackexchange.com, literatures, and extensive software features testing and hoped this publication fills the gaps in knowledge and literature, aside many plagiarized blogs, confusing articles (as learning LaTeX itself). It details the important breakthroughs in TeX development projects which include the creation of pdfTeX in 2014, graphic editors, GUI and online TeX editors, running external program codes (R, Python, Mathlab, etc) in LaTeX native environment, expl3 language as part of LaTeX kernel in 2020, also syncing/integrating tools to other platforms/environment

Role of China in Improving the Regional Connectivity and Economic Development in African Union through Program for Infrastructure Development in Africa-Priority Action Plan 1 (PIDA-PAP 1) (2012-2020)

The Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) is an initiative of the African Union (AU) Commission taken in collaboration with other AU institutions. The NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency (NPCA), the United Nations Economic Commission (UNEC) for Africa, and the African Development Bank (AfDB) partnered with the program. PIDA aims to expedite infrastructure development in Africa and overcome the challenges of regional connectivity. It is divided into two Priority Action Plans (PAP) i.e. 'PIDA-PAP1' and 'PIDA-PAP2'. The PIDA-PAP1 (2012-2020) is a strategic framework which ensures fast-track implementation of various projects to address developmental and integrative issues faced by the AU member states which are chiefly related to energy, transboundary water, transportation, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sectors. The current study reviews the nature and quantum of Chinese engagements with AU under the PIDA initiative for continental integration by particularly focussing on PAP 1 Program. It qualitatively analyses the relevant literature including official reports and financial documents to critically understand the extensive nature of Chinese involvement in these projects and finds that China is quite keenly involved within the member states of AU to develop inter- and intra-regional connectivity which is apparently intended and would ultimately be helpful to fulfil her own growing economic needs. The study would be helpful for the scholars, researchers from academia as well as policy-makers and think-tanks working on the China-AU economic relations

The study investigated factors responsible for early pregnancy among female teenagers in Esure, Akure South Local Government, Ondo State, Nigeria. The study employed a descriptive design, administering 108 questionnaires for analysis using IBM SPSS Version 25. The findings revealed that 92.6% of the respondents are knowledgeable about teenage pregnancy; 86% have given birth; age at first sexual intercourse was highest between 17 19 years (44%); Primary causes of teenage pregnancy include a lack of sex education (70%), followed by peer pressure (35%), poverty (20%), and low self-esteem (19%). Other associated factors include a lack of self-control (28%), a lack of parenting (24%), and poverty (23%). The vulnerable groups include orphans (82.4%), children from single parents (74%), sexually active teenagers (92.6%), and gifts from the opposite sex (83.3%). The implications of teenage pregnancy include sexually transmitted infections (40%), abortion (23%), bleeding after birth (15%), death (14%), and infertility (8%). Other factors include school dropout (35.2%) and stigmatisation (34.3%). Prevention of teenage pregnancy includes health education (33.3%), abstinence (22.2%), use of contraceptives (18.5%), prevention of early marriage (9.3%), sex education (8.3%). The study recommends the introduction of youth-friendly health services, continuous health education, and the incorporation of human sexuality education into school curricula. The study also advocates for government support in establishing youth counselling centres and providing resources for pregnant and parenting teenagers.N/

A Glimpse of China-African Union Economic Relations during 21st Century

The ever-prospering China-African Union (AU) economic relations are the outcome of their long-term interaction. The dawn of 21st century marked a significant boost in this relationship with the establishment of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD). Chinese Presidents Hu Jin Tao (2003-2013) and President Xi Jinping (2013- ) preferred to follow a multilateral approach towards African continent and interacted with AU through inter-regional organizations which policy radically transformed the level of Chinese penetration into the continent. The Agenda 2063 of AU has also been designed to maximize the benefits from China’s Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) of 2013. As a consequence of integrated efforts from China and the AU for the economic development of the continent, the collective economy of Africa had reached at a magnificent amount of $3 trillion in 2023. In this scenario, the current study, while reviewing policy documents and available literature, explores the nature of China's enhanced cooperation with Africa through regional and multilateral organizations such as the AU, FOCAC and NEPAD. It elucidates how China and AU had committed and cooperated in pursuit of the mantra 'build an even stronger community with a shared future'. Applying an explanatory and descriptive approach, the study concludes that China's extensive engagement with the AU to promote infrastructure development and connectivity has profoundly impacted African economic growth. Finally, it goes without saying that the analytics, assessments and outcomes of the study would help future researchers, academia and experts working on China’s economic engagements with the AU to rationally understand the impact of these relations
