Les études contrastives et confrontatives: domaine français-polonais
In this article problems of contrastive and confrontative studies in reference to Polish and French is discussed. The author also deals with the relationship of these studies with typological linguistics. The discussion is based on analyses of oppositions which make it possible to classify languages into analytical and synthetic ones

Petit plaidoyer pour l’autonomisation au niveau supérieur en français langue étrangère
This contribution starts with arguing, at both theoretical and practical levels, for autonomization in the advanced teaching/learning of French, showing that approach as highly recommendable in the presentday situation in Poland, especially in the university setting. The second part of the article gives evidence of it, referring to a research project conducted recently in this precise context, in which autonomization appeared as very useful also in teacher training

In this article the author presents a selection of results of studies of verbal comicality in Rabelaise and as it is translated by T. Boy-Żeleński. The results were obtained through the use of the method of comparison of laughter-creating mechanisms of comic sequences in LD and LA, based on the theory of connotations as developed by C. Kerbrat-Orecchioni

The present article tries to explain some points of the generic definition of confession, showing that there are some determinant factors that allow to distinguish it from the autobiography such as: thematic space, reason and/or narralaire and treatment of time and memory
«De la noncin» et «d\u27une nonne». Lecture cnmparée des structures spatiales dans les miracles
The paper is a comparison of the two narrative and dramatic medieval miracles. The texts come from different times, but they both, tell the same story - a miraculous intervention of the Virgin Mary on a life of a young nun. Written in the 14th century, the dramatic version is an adaptation of Gautier de Coincy narrative miracle. The author of the paper intends to seize the spatial transformations that occur between narrative “hypotexte” and dramatic “hypertexte”. Indirectly, this analysis evokes a question of rewriting in French medieval literature
Connotations culturelles dans la perspective humboldtienne. Étude comparative des unités phraséologiques du français et du polonais
The main idea of this article is to indicate the relation of language and culture through reference to Humboldtian philosophy of language and some linguistic theories which lake up this problem. The analysis presented here deals with cultural connotations of idiomatic expressions and assuming that languages are representations that render the spirit of nations, it illustrates particular aspects of relationship between language and culture, namely: - placing expressions in the cultural specificity of particular communities, - difficulties encountered while translating them into another language, which are connected with differences in illustrating them (giving their picture). Examples collected in the further part are to show a certain group of these idiomatic expressions which are motivated immediately by social reality that is specific of either the Polish or the French nation
Structures hiérarchiques en terminologie - l\u27hyperonymie
Along with antonymy and synonymy, hyperonymy is one of the basic semantic relations in lexis. In specialistic terminologies the status of hyperonymy seems to be exceptional since this type of vocabulary reflects the hierarchic character so typical for many fields of science. This article presents the phenomenon of hyperonymy in the language of medicine in which it does not only perform the task of ordering terminology, but is also an important factor which is a condition of creation of new terms
Les origines rhétoriques de la théorie des textes argumentatifs
The present paper has been written for students whose intention is to leam the basic skills of composing argumentative texts such as essays, B.A. papers and M.A. theses. As it is widely known, the structure of all persuasive forms of writing adheres to specific norms and rules, which were clearly prescribed back in antiquity and which are mostly followed in contemporary textbooks on argumentative texts. In my paper, the current French theory of the latter has been explained through description of its classical roots. The analysis focuses in particular on the stages of argumentative composition, its inherent components and the typology of argumentative texts proposed by ancient Greeks and Romans
