Influence of AI-generated avatars on consumer trust in the brand

    No full text
Artificial intelligence is emerging in almost every aspect of consumer life, making AI-powered content generation a significant brand marketing tool. Avatars are one of the AI-powered tools that are changing the way consumers interact with brands. The market for avatars is growing rapidly, so the question of their use in brand marketing is becoming more and more relevant. This paper tries to find out what decisions of avatars created by artificial intelligence allow to influence consumer trust in the brand, and what influence avatars have in creating consumer trust. The article analyzes the theoretical aspects of the use of avatars in creating consumer trust in a brand. It was revealed that avatars create emotional and cognitive trust in users’ subconscious. The visual and audio elements of avatars can be elements of “reassurance” in users’ subconscious, thereby reducing the feeling of uncertainty and ambiguity and shaping perceived familiarity. Emotional and cognitive trust shape consumer experience, brand recognition, brand love and loyalty. Emotional trust in an avatar has a greater impact on consumers’ trust in the brand and thus on their purchase decision. Cognitive trust is related to the avatar’s role as an expert, while emotional trust is built through the avatar’s appeal to the user.Taip / Yes

In this study, a concrete was prepared using glass processing waste, which replaced a certain amount of cement. These experiments were conducted to determine how the amount of glass processing waste affects the properties of fresh and hardened concrete. The experiments used cement, sand, dolomite, chemical admixtures, water and glass processing waste. In the experiments the amount of cement was replaced with glass processing waste from 5% to 30%. For the fresh concrete mixture, density and air content were determined. For the hardened concrete density, compressive strength, flexural strength, and water absorption, were determined. From the tests, it was determined that when up to 20% of the cement was replaced with glass processing waste, the properties of the concrete improved. Based on all the results obtained from the study, it was concluded that the optimal amount of cement that can be replaced with glass processing waste is up to 20%

Possible improvements of corporate income tax in Latvia

    No full text
In the European Union, most taxes are as equal as possible between member states within the interests of each member state. At the same time, some taxes can create a lot of competition between countries. Corporate income tax is a tax that affects competitiveness between member states, including Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. It was especially relevant in 2023 and is becoming more and more relevant in 2024, when many international companies choose a country where to build their central office or production in the Baltic region or decide to continue or expand their presence in a given country.Taip / Yes

Monolitinės architektūros programų migracijos į mikroservisų architektūrą tyrimas

    No full text
Microservice architecture is becoming the de facto industry standard for building new enterprise applications. According to the International Data Corporation, almost 90% of North American enterprises already use micro-service architecture to develop new and modernise legacy applications. Companies aiming to remain competitive have started modernising their legacy monolithic systems by decomposing them into microservices. However, extracting microservices from legacy monolithic software is an extremely complex task. Although the topic of monolithic software migration into microservice architecture has already been explored by scientists and software engineers, it is a complex and relatively new challenge; therefore, little research exists on its many parts, such as database adaptation during the migration and communication establishment between microservices. Most research primarily focuses on microservice identification within monolith applications and source code decomposition into microservices. A new migration approach is proposed to bridge this gap. It consists of code decomposition and covers communication establishment and data management. The dissertation consists of an introduction, four chapters, and general conclusions. The first chapter introduces microservice and monolithic architectures and discusses the existing migration from monolithic to micro-service architecture methods. In addition, three main parts are identified, and deeper research is provided for code extraction methods, communication between microservices, and data management. It also provides evaluation of existing methodologies for monolith decomposition into micro-services. The same enterprise application was decomposed into micro-services using three different methods. Based on the proposed evaluation criteria, the advantages and disadvantages of each decomposition method were determined. The second chapter presents the proposed approach for migrating legacy monolithic applications into microservices. The third chapter presents experimental research on possible communication technologies. Five communication technologies, such as HTTP Rest, RabbitMQ, Kafka, gRPC, and GraphQL, have been evaluated and compared using the proposed evaluation criteria. The fourth chapter presents an experimental evaluation of the proposed approach of monolithic database migration into multi-model polyglot persistence. The dissertation’s results were published in 4 scientific publications, 2 of which were in reviewed scientific journals indexed in the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science database and presented at four international conferences.

Development of timber construction in European countries: Drivers, barriers, and education

    No full text
For all of the European Union countries, the European Green Deal has set ambitious objectives to become climate neutral by 2050. The global challenge is to achieve prosperity and sustainable economic development while reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. All economic sectors must take action in order to achieve this goal. The construction industry has a large impact on fulfilling Green Deal objectives since it is one of the biggest consumers of finite natural resources and energy, as well as one of the biggest producers of carbon emissions and waste. The construction sector is under pressure to find and use alternative, sustainable, eco-friendly building materials, such as timber. However, despite the numerous benefits of timber, construction with timber is still not sufficiently developed in European countries. The aim of the research was to determine the main drivers and barriers to timber construction development across selected European countries. In addition, the education of the specialists, skill gaps, and required competencies were tackled. The research was based on a literature analysis and a questionnaire survey of the business companies. Analysis revealed that timber has numerous environmental, social, and economic benefits compared to traditional building materials such as steel or concrete. Major barriers to timber construction development are a lack of knowledge and skills, as well as concerns regarding fire safety and structural stability. A survey revealed that business companies lack skilled staff. To overcome this barrier, education in sustainable timber design and construction must be improved
