    The impact of the introduction of electronic records of sales on the reporting of sales in the hospitality industry

    In 2015, electronic records of sales were introduced in the Czech Republic. Before this year, there was no control of cash sales. There have been long discussions on this topic, how to prevent the reduction of tax liability in the country. Finally, a law on sales registration was proposed. The main goal of this contribution is to find out what impact the introduction of electronic sales records had on the reporting of sales in the hospitality industry. The results are evaluated using three different statistical tests. All the calculated tests came to the same conclusion. The introduction of electronic records of sales had an impact on the reporting of sales in the hospitality industry.     AI Models of Pulmonary Sarcoidosis Detection

    Sarcoidosis, a multifaceted inflammatory disorder, often involves the ′ lungs, presenting challenges in diagnosis and management. Computed tomography (CT) imaging is pivotal in assessing pulmonary sarcoidosis, yet interpretation can be subjective and variable. This study explores the application of artificial intelligence (AI) models, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Residual Networks (ResNets), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), and the Ultralytics model, in automating the detection and classification of pulmonary sarcoidosis lesions on CT scans. Additionally, the research provides a detailed comparative analysis of these AI models, elucidating their strengths and limitations in pulmonary sarcoidosis detection.Taip / Ye

    Synergy among finance, energy and CO2 emissions in a dynamic setting: Measures to optimize the carbon peaking path /

    Financial development and energy consumption are expected to exert a significant effect on CO2 emission changes. However, there remains a research gap in optimizing pathways to carbon peaking under financial and energy drivers. This paper constructs a novel model covering finance and energy consumption using the generalized Divisia Index (GDI) method. The GDI allows to quantify the drivers behind the CO2 emission change in China during 2005–2020. Furthermore, it combines a Monte Carlo simulation with scenario analysis to forecast the path of CO2 emissions during 2021–2030. The results demonstrate that energy structure and carbon factor remain the principal drivers for CO2 emission growth in China. Thus, it is still pivotal to optimize energy saving and carbon reduction policies. Financial energy saving has enormous potential for reducing CO2 emissions over time, even though the immediate influence on CO2 emission is not significant. China has a substantial probability of reaching the peaking target in 2026 under the technology breakthrough scenario, whereas in the other two scenarios the target cannot be achieved.vol. 10

    ReEnAct: Development of an Optimization Tool for the Energy Model in the Region of Peental/Loitz

    This paper presents a comprehensive study aimed at exploring and harnessing the renewable energy potential within the Peenetal/Loitz region. The primary objective is to maximize the utilization of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power by developing a modeling and optimization tool for the energy system prototype. The overarching goal is to mitigate carbon emissions and foster sustainable development in the area. Aligned with Germany's energy transition and the German Climate Change Act, this project contributes to the country's broader objectives of transitioning to renewable energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The Energy transition exemplifies successful renewable energy adoption in urban areas, driven by local initiatives, ambitious targets, and supportive policy frameworks. Unlike previous models relying on average estimations for calculating renewable energy potential, this model introduces a digitalized approach that organizes data more efficiently and effectively handles large datasets.     Modelling the mechanical properties and fracture risk of Canis lupus familiaris bone tissue in the context of osteoporosis

    Mokslinėje literatūroje plačiai aprašytas osteoporozės poveikis žmogaus organizmui. Daugiausia dėmesio skiriama žmogaus sveikatai, o gyvūnai paprastai yra naudojami tik laboratoriniams bandymams ir jiems skiriama nedaug dėmesio. Tačiau šioje disertacijoje didžiausias dėmesys skiriamas būtent šuns juosmens stuburo slanksteliams, jų pokyčiams osteoporozės ir biomechanikos kontekste bei atliktiems tyrimams, kurie yra susiję su pažeisto slankstelio lūžių rizika. Rengiant disertaciją buvo taikomas baigtinių elementų metodas, siekiant sudaryti skaitinį šuns juosmens stuburo slankstelį. Be to, buvo atlikti biomechaniniai, vaizdiniai, histopatologiniai bandymai ir pateikta gautų duomenų analizė. Disertacijos tikslas buvo pasiektas įgyvendinant keturis uždavinius. Buvo sudarytas skaitmeninis šunų juosmeninės stuburo dalies stuburo modelis, o vėliau, naudojant modelį, atlikti biomechaniniai skaičiavimai, siekiant įvertinti su osteoporoze susijusius biomechaninių charakteristikų pokyčius. Mikrokompiuterinė tomografija (mikro-KT) leido įvertinti šunų juosmens slankstelių kaulinio audinio struktūrą ir tankį. Atlikti histomorfometriniai tyrimai leido išsamiau išanalizuoti kaulinio audinio struktūrą bei tankį ir nustatyti, kokia įtaka daroma mechaninėms savybėms. Analizuojant specifinius biologinius rizikos veiksnius, darančius įtaką šunų kauliniam audiniui, pasiūlyta unikali lūžių rizikos balų skaičiuoklė, galinti padėti prognozuoti lūžių riziką šunims, turintiems polinkį sirgti osteoporoze. Disertaciją sudaro įvadas, trys skyriai, bendrosios išvados, literatūros sąrašas, publikacijų ir pranešimų konferencijose sąrašas, santrauka anglų kalba ir keturi priedai. Įvade aptarta nagrinėjama problema, aktualumas, tyrimo objektai, disertacijos tikslas ir uždaviniai, naujumas ir praktinė reikšmė. Skyriuose išsamiai aprašomas osteoporozės kontekstas medicinos, veterinarijos ir biomechanikos moksluose, pristatoma tyrimo metodika, modelio kūrimas ir rizikos balų skaičiuoklės sukūrimas, analizuojamas šunų aktyvumas prieš ir po kastracijos. Trečiajame skyriuje pateikiami rezultatai, įrodantys, kad šunys gali sirgti osteoporoze. Šie rezultatai pagrindžiami nustačius dideles poras juosmeninėje stuburo dalyje, naudojant mikrokompiuterinę tomografiją ir histomorfometriją. Be to, buvo atlikta realaus ir skaitinio modelio validacija. Disertacijos tema buvo paskelbtos keturios mokslinės publikacijos, indeksuotos Clarivate Analytics Web of Science duomenų bazėje. Tyrimo rezultatai buvo pristatyti šešiose mokslinėse konferencijose Lietuvoje ir užsienyje. Tikimasi, kad ši disertacija paskatins tolesnius šios srities mokslinius tyrimus ir paskatins naujus svarstymus apie šunų osteoporozės gydymą, skiriant šių gyvūnų sveikatos tyrimams deramą dėmesį.The effects of osteoporosis on the human body have been extensively de-scribed in the scientific literature. The focus is on human health, while ani-mals are used only as laboratory subjects and receive little attention. There-fore, this dissertation focuses on the canine lumbar spine, its changes in the context of osteoporosis and biomechanics, and the studies that have been performed to determine the risk of fracture of the affected vertebrae. In the preparation of the dissertation, a finite element method was used to con-struct a numerical model of the canine lumbar spine. In addition, biomechanical, imaging and histopathological tests were performed, and an analysis of the data obtained was presented. The aim of the dissertation was achieved through four objectives. A digital model of the canine lumbar spine was constructed, and biomechanical calculations were subsequently performed using the model to assess the changes in biomechanical performance associated with osteoporosis. Micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) allowed the assessment of the structure and density of the canine lumbar vertebral bone tissue. The histomorphometric studies allowed for a more detailed analysis of the structure and density of the bone tissue, as well as the influence of the mechanical properties. A unique fracture risk score has been proposed to analyse the specific biological risk factors affecting canine bone tissue. The dissertation consists of an introduction, three chapters, general conclusions, a list of references, a list of publications and conference presentations, an abstract in English and four appendices. The introduction discusses the problem, the relevance, the objects of study, the aim and objectives of the dissertation, the novelty and the practical significance. The chapters provide a detailed description of the context of osteoporosis in medicine, veterinary medicine and biomechanics, present the study methodology, model development and the development of a risk score calculator, and analyse the activity of the dogs before and after castration. The third chapter presents the results which demonstrate that dogs can develop osteoporosis. These results are substantiated by the detection of large pores in the lumbar spine using micro-computed tomography and histomorphometry, as well as validation of the real and numerical models. Four scientific publications have been published on the topic of the dissertation, indexed in the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science database. The results of the research were presented at six scientific conferences in Lithuania and abroad. It is hoped that this thesis will stimulate further research in this field and lead to new considerations on the treatment of osteoporosis in dogs, with due attention being paid to the health research of these animals.Taip / Ye
