Logistics is currently undergoing a transformative phase due to rapid digitalization, prompting a profound exploration of both theoretical potentials and practical challenges within the industry. This comprehensive review delves deeply into the growing interest in digital technologies within logistics, with a specific emphasis on their practical applications. This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis to explore the growth and academic focus on the logistics digitalization. Academic literature is studied from the Web of Science database for 2020–2024. Literature review and bibliographic analysis of selected articles are performed using VOS Viewer. It was identified that one of the clusters comprise keywords related to logistics and information technology. The analysis of investments in digital technology reveals experiences of the logistics sector seeking to figure out how investments impact labor productivity. The descriptive analysis results indicate that companies implementing technology can achieve up to a 20% increase in labor productivity, signifying the importance of technology investments for business competitiveness increase. These findings illuminate how various logistics sub-sectors respond to software and computers investments and the pace at which these technologies influence labor productivity metrics. These empirical findings considerably fortify the theoretical framework, offering practical implications and stressing the critical necessity for logistics firms to seamlessly adopt digital technologies into their operational frameworks. In conclusion, as the logistics landscape teeters on the brink of a digital revolution, businesses must navigate and fully embrace digital solutions to maintain competitiveness.Taip / Yes

The protection of violated consumer rights in the context of realizing good governance principles under European Union law

    No full text
Article 41 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights establishes the implementation of individuals fundamental right to good administration, according to which the good governance practice of public administration institutions is formed. The concept of good governance is based on legal requirements for public administration entities to provide public (administrative) services, taking into account to the interests of users of such services, and at the same time, exercising the authorities that they have without violating the rights of individuals. This article critically examines the implementation of principles of good governance in the context of defending violated consumer rights, with a particular focus on Lithuanian legal practices and the role of the European Consumer Centre. Emphasizing transparency, accountability, efficiency, and participatory in decision-making, the good governance principles are pivotal in enhancing the effectiveness of public administration mechanisms in the protection of violated consumer rights. By integrating qualitative analysis of legal frameworks, case studies, and empirical data, the research study sheds light on how Lithuania and the European Consumer Centre apply the good governance principles to ensure a robust consumer rights protection. The study highlights the central role of national regulatory bodies and the European Consumer Centre in mediating disputes, enforcing fair trade practices, and ensuring product safety, there by facilitating efficient redressal for aggrieved consumers. The research findings advocate for the improvement of legal regulation in order to strengthen the application of good governance principles in the public administration practice for the protection of consumer rights. The article concludes with recommendations aimed at improving the efficiency of consumer rights protection mechanism through the adoption of good governance practices, with a special emphasis on the Lithuanian context and the broader European framework.

Application of digital technologies for sustainable business development

    No full text
The last century’s economic progress, technology and digitalization have led to efficient use of time resources and shortened distances. Due to technological progress, changes, and the variety of communication tools, part of the business processes transferred to the digital space became faster and easier; there were opportunities to contact or chat with people in all corners of the world, regardless of the distance. Digital technologies raise living standards and improve the service sector. At the beginning of the twenty-first century, the field of digital technologies has provided a variety of predictions to determine the state of the fundamental concepts in the field, as well as to stimulate debate, help allocate and implement resources, initiatives, and initiate research to improve the understanding of many revolutionary topics related to the digitalization transition. Since 2000, publications focused even more on automation and digital technologies. The authors describe the impact of digital technologies on sustainable business development. At the end, the authors present the results of the bibliometric analysis, during which 8 different thematic clusters were formed; the main keywords are “digitalization”, “business”, “management”, and “sustainability”. Each cluster includes contemporary criteria published in the last two years, specifically 2022–2023. To fill the thematic gaps, the authors presented studies by topic.Taip / Yes

    Memristor-Based Phase-Frequency Detector for Phase-Locked Loop Applications

    No full text
The present paper introduces and illustrates a novel, straightforward Phase-Frequency Detection (PFD) circuit based on two memristor components. This PFD approach can represent the phase or frequency difference between two sinusoidal inputs as a DC signal. As a result, the suggested method does away with the Low Pass Filter (LPF) block in the Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) structure, resulting in a reduction in the dissipated power and overall system area and an increase in the PLL efficiency when employed in many applications such as the communications module of body implants. First, the linear dopant drift memristor model is used to derive a closed-form analytical solution for the proposed PFD concept. Later, simulations for the proposed PFD circuit are carried out utilizing the more realistic nonlinear dopant drift memristor model to verify the validity of the expected findings despite considering all known non-idealities of actually realized memristor devices. The emergence of this circuit will encourage the investigation and development of the first memristor-based PLL system, which can be constructed directly using this Phase detector cascaded by a memristor-based Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO), with the latter being extensively researched in the literature.Taip / Ye

    No full text
The purpose of this study is to investigate validity of the survey, used to research how introduction of education for sustainable development (ESD) principles into the process of higher education may foster the resilience of higher education institutions (HEIs). The scope of investigation lies within priorities of sustainable development goals (SDG), SDG 4 – quality education in particular and within the impact of ESD to overall sustainable transformation of the modern world in the challenging conditions. The tasks of the study are to identify, after a thorough analysis of the factors that determine the implementation of the principles of the ESD in higher education, how its introduction may foster the resilience of higher education institutions. Methods employed in this research includes literature review, survey and it’s statistical interpretation. The final results show the importance of the survey questions given to the academic staff of HEIs in an order to determine the priority of study process administrative change in consonance with the ESD principles.Taip / YesIEKA University of Applied Science Scientific Institution project “21st Century Skills”16-20/

Attitudes to sustainable entrepreneurship and environmental values of students: testing measurement scale and preliminary results of cross-country study

    No full text
Sustainable entrepreneurship (SE) is an approach that is crucial for creating enterprises that not only generate profit but also minimize environmental impact, promote social responsibility, drive innovations, and others. Furthermore, SE is one of the instruments to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The goal of this study is to investigate environmental values of students and evaluate their attitudes toward social entrepreneurship. 807 respondents from different countries (mostly from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Slovenia) were surveyed using the authors’ developed questionnaire. The main blocks were tested for internal consistency. Data processing was performed by means of frequency analysis, Mann-Whitney U test and correlation analysis. The results indicate the readiness of the most of respondents to reduce use of plastics. In general, the respondents are also agreeing with the statement “People should change their buying habits and way of life to solve our environmental problems”. However, only half of respondents are ready to change their own buying habits. The level of entrepreneurial intentions among students is quite low. Only 26% of the respondents were ready to start sustainable business within 5 years of graduation, even less (24%) had a sustainable business idea. The research also revealed the fact that women have a larger interest in starting a business comparing than male respondents.Taip / Yes
