No full textGUKPPiW (Chief Control Office of Press, Publications and Shows) was established in 1946. Since that time a regular control of the German language publications took place. Therefore until 1953 the pieces wich were published in Poland included almost exclusively works of authors from the territory of the German Democratic Republic. For each edition of works for publication so called ,,reviews“ were prepared wich pinpointed any possible ideological imperfections. Finally they might approve a piece of literature, stop its publications or demand to remove certain sections. The most im important criterion used by the Office was the authors attitude towards the regime, ideological-political value of the pieces an its educational and didactical usefulness

No full textThe author establishes all kinds of segment units on the plane of constituents (infrastructure, size level) and representation (infrastructure) which are compatible with the taxonomic model of language and grammar as that of German. On the latter plane there occurs a differentiation of system units ("emic" according to Pike) and their variants (units of an allo or "etic" type) and the author pays particular attention to the proper identification of free (facultative) variants. The author keeps himself away from establishing variants resulting not from the representation of immediate constituents of units, but from the projection of indirect constituents. The notion of variation is finally extended onto the language as a whole, including in to it considerations on the subject of so called diacodes and language varieties

No full textThis paper is an attempt to explain the ambivalent role of the mother in Peter Weiss\u27s oeuvre. In his autobiographical novel Abschied von den Eltern he describes the "mythological years" of his childhood with a frightening mother and a warm-hearted nanny. Traces of these two unintegrable motherly objects can be found in most of Weiss\u27s works. The mother\u27s realm is the house whereas the nanny allows the child to discover the outside world. His first "exile" is the garden, where a sensual contact with nature is possible. The Earth becomes a place of refuge for Weiss\u27s figures. But she is also men\u27s grave: "Desire to return into the mother\u27s womb = desire to die". Being the goddess of life and of death, the Earth herself is ambivalent. „Die Ästhetik des Widerstands” is full of symbols and mythological allusions referring to this. But they are to be seen in a historical and political context. The Earth is a victim of war, wounded by men\u27s violence, and at the same time she represents the Utopian possibility of an existence in which mimetic empathy and sympathy replace aggression and destruction

The following issues are discussed: the ablative constructions and corresponding gaps in the spatial relations of Polish and German, the defectiveness of the preposition system and the equivalence in the domain of ablative relations, the rules of equivalence in this domain, which include the anaphora
