Imigracja w Szwajcarii po 1945 roku – ewolucja postaw społeczeństwa i federalna polityka integracji
Get PDFThe article discusses immigration in Switzerland after 1945: its dynamics and the policy of the federal government towards immigration and immigrants. An important issue addressed in the paper are relations between Helvetian Federation and European Union, especially with respect to bilateral agreements concerning free movement of people. The second part of the article is devoted to social attitudes towards immigration as well as the increasingly radical views of the right-wing groups, especially Swiss People’s Party (SVP, in French – Democratic Union of the Centre – UDC) on immigration, which is most vividly manifested in public initiatives submitted to popular vote. An analysis of the results of votes demonstrates that the attitudes of the Swiss public towards immigration are not uniform. Initiatives aimed at expelling immigrants from Switzerland are rejected, but so are proposals of laws which make obtaining Swiss citizenship easier. Furthermore, the author discusses the Federation’s immigrant integration policies, in which emphasis is put on integration on the job market or social integration, while completely ignoring political integration (granting civil rights). The final issue addressed in this paper is the analysis of a watershed in the history of immigration in Switzerland, namely the public vote of February 9th, 2014 “Against Mass Immigration” and its consequences. Get PDFThe Russian factor poses a real threat to the national security of Ukraine and Poland. The Russian expansion includes the dismemberment of the Ukrainian and Polish territories and formation of weak, non-viable and quasi-public entities there which would be dependent on Moscow. One of the important features of Russian strategy is to undermine national unity of Ukrainian and Polish societies within the countries, neutralize strategic partnership between our countries and to provoke a new Ukrainian-Polish conflict. Russia’s neo-imperialist policy is substantiated by A. Dugin\u27s neo-Eurasian geopolitical doctrine. The analysis of the doctrine makes it possible to forecast the Russian policy towards Ukraine, Poland, European Union and the USA and to work out an effective counterstrategy. Deepening the Ukrainian-Polish equal partnership and joint efforts to neutralize and dismantle Russian imperial social system should become the response to common threat to the national security of Ukraine and Poland. Without taking such drastic measures the national security of Ukraine, Poland and other countries will always be at constant threat

The message that a headstone conveys is a resultant of the communication intended by those who commissioned it and the historical context. The means of visual expression, as well as the nature of the embellishments are the necessary tools for its reading. Get PDFThe study focuses on the characteristically Pascalian attempt at synthesizing of contradictory and intensely remote extremes of existence. Assuming the form of existential dialectics, the paradox of Pascalian vision refers in particular to the human, demonstrating the non-reducible tension between the intuitive (irrational) and the rational (panlogical); between the heart and the mind, between faith and knowledge. The conviction of human misery or the worldly vanity is fused here with the simultaneous sense of human greatness (the power of thought). The tension which therefore spans those dichotomous ontological-ontic dimensions is the determining factor of the constitution of individual existence
