No full textThis paper is an attempt to approach the history of bl. John Henry Newman as the history of a man who decided to re-evaluate his ethos in line with what his conscience showed him to be a duty to fulfil. Here conversion is understood as a long process of development, where the moment of decision is only the finał element. What seems to be an illumination and impulse is only seemingly a sudden change. No full textThe aim of this paper is to show how a 16th-century Catholic clergyman would polemicize in the matter of religion with a Lutheran, whom he tried to convince to abandon erroneous (in his opinion) teachings. No full textThe article discusses the life as well as academic and teaching work of Alexandr Martinovich Pridik, professor of Old Greek literature at the University of Warsaw. The author used previously unpublished archival material as well as writings of the academician. A.M. Pridik was in fact the only Professor of the University of Warsaw (later the Donskoy University) who succeeded in fleeing Bolshevik Russian and later continued his scholarly and teaching activities in Estonia, which by then had gained independence.The article discusses the life as well as academic and teaching work of Alexandr Martinovich Pridik, professor of Old Greek literature at the University of Warsaw. Transfiguracja symboli archetypowych w utworach Marty Tomaszewskiej
Get PDFAn analysis of the process concerning transfer of archetypal symbols in fairy-tale plots, conducted firom the perspective of depth psychology (C.G. Jung), reveals the human being to be a culture creator (homo culturalis), who uses vivid language and aims at abstracting a multidimensional sense of existence. The paradigm of archetypal literary criticism (N. Frye) offers multidimensional insights into a work of literature and demonstrates the shifts of the arche, a constant adjustment of archetypes to the demands of the present. When attempting to determine the archetypal order in the works of Marta Tomaszewska, one should be aware of the fact that it is one of many possible efforts to read multi-perspective symbolic contents and it validates the thesis presuming an endless source of the collective unconscious.An analysis of the process concerning transfer of archetypal symbols in fairy-tale plots, conducted firom the perspective of depth psychology (C.G.
