The prospective status of women in israel following a clash between the feminist and religious revolutions in the Israeli army
In the past decade, the Israeli Army (IDF) has been undergoing simultane-ously two ‘social revolutions’: a ‘feminist revolution’ and a “religious revolution”. The two revolutions have different and conflicting ideologies causing a clash of values. Feminist values demand the integration of women in the army without gender separation, whereas religious principles require modesty and gender separation. At the moment, in practice, religious values which under-mine women’s equal opportunities in the army outweigh democratic values. If the secular women and men in Israeli society will not act to deprive the IDF of its unofficial and unauthorized role of balancing conflicting values in society, the status and roles of women in the army will be downgraded, directly im-pacting gender inequality in the employment market. In the past decade, the Israeli Army (IDF) has been undergoing simultane-ously two ‘social revolutions’: a ‘feminist revolution’ and a “religious revolution”. Uwięziony mason, Natan mędrzec i Inkowie, czyli rzecz o sztuce pewnego niemieckiego barona w kontekście oświeceniowej idei tolerancji
The work created by Hans Heinrich Freiherr von Ecker und Eckhoffen is an apology of Free- masonry – which made quite a contribution to the propagation of the Enlightenment – and the philosophy it advocated. The German aristocrat and Freemason introduces a noble, yet imprisoned Freemason, whose attitude and statements undermine any accusation levelled against the representatives of the royal art. He also speaks with regard to the internal conflict between them and, drawing on Marmontel’s “Les Incas” – which were very popular at the time – makes his piece a manifesto of the Enlightenment idea of tolerance. This paper discusses the drama entitled “Le franc-maçon prisonnier”, whose French-language version written by Hans Heinrich Freiherr von Ecker und Eckhoffen was published in 1777, (the longer German version, i.e. Der Freymaurer im Gefängnis, signed Hans Karl Freiherr von Ecker und Eckhoffen followed a year later), in the context of the Enlightenment concept of tolerance, and the Freemasonic and literary activity of the brothers (co-authors, or the author and the translator of the work). The issues relating to the piece and the literary work of the von Ecker und Eckhoffens has not been previously addressed in any publications in Polish

Music in art
In this article I shall describe the various roles and meanings of music in selected works of different artists, styles and periods, from the basic level of imitating and portraying reality to more covert meanings. The choice of works was based on the starting point of the centrality of music or the role of the musical instrument, or both as a key to understanding and interpreting the painting. In this article I shall describe the various roles and meanings of music in selected works of different artists, styles and periods, from the basic level of imitating and portraying reality to more covert meanings. THE FRENCH ASPECTS IN THE EDUCATION PATTERN OF THE POLISH NOBILITY IN THE SEVENTEENTH CENTURY
The pattern of education of the Polish noble youth in the seventeenth century changed in comparison with the preceding century. In the latter, the mul-tinational, multicultural and multidenominational nature of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth nurtured attitudes of widely understood tolerance both in terms of ideology and in practice. Poland was receptive to strong Re-naissance influence, while numerous sons of the Polish nobles studied abroad, mainly in Italy but also in Germany and France. The education system in the Jagiellonian monarchy of reflected the trends and the ideals of contemporary European education. The seventeenth century saw increased influence of the Counter-Reformation in the Nobles’ Commonwealth.
The ideas of Sarmatism, embracing xenophobia, religiosity and self-glorification of the existing, petrified political system, became more pro-nounced. These tendencies were broadly present in the pattern of the educa-tion of nobility, a pattern that was prone to strong Jesuit influence in the spirit of the doctrine laid down by the Council of Trent. The pattern of education of the Polish noble youth in the seventeenth century changed in comparison with the preceding century.
