The Effect of deficiency of vitamin D3 on obesity: Review Article
Get PDFObesity and vitamin D deficiency are linked in a substantial way. More research into the mechanism of vitamin D insufficiency is required to analyze this link. The purpose of this review was to examine the published literature on the relationship between obesity and vitamin D deficiency. Obese people are frequently less exposed to sunlight due to their lack of exercise, and the huge size of the fat mass may limit vitamin D production under the skin, where vitamin D is processed in the adipocytes. Vitamin D insufficiency affects adipocyte growth and differentiation consequently weight gain. Several researches have been conducted to investigate the impact of obesity on developing vitamin D insufficiency. Because research on the effect of vitamin D and obesity is still scarce, this study intended to compile studies that explain this effect and brings as many points of view as possible together
Anatomical study and measurements on the tongue of mature local breed ducks (Anas Platyrhynchos) and geese (Anserinae)
Get PDFBy studying both species the results showed that the average weights of adult birds were 1445 gm in ducks. the average rate of tongue’s weight was 8.87 gm, and a relative weight of 0.61 gm, while the average weights in geese were 2374 gm, 11.28 gm, and 0.47 gm, respectively. The dorsal surface of the apex of the tongue of ducks was spoon-shaped, while the apex of the tongue of geese was round. but the ventral surface was triangular with a white plate termed the nail of the tongue in both species. The caudal part of the duck tongue makes the tongue comb which is placed in front of the lingual elevation, whereas the caudal part of the goose tongue forms the median furrow which is located at the front border of the lingual elevation. The margins of the tongue of both animals include large and small conical mechanical papillae, in addition to filiform papillae. A significant difference has been noted in the thickness of the apex and the root of the tongue between the two birds. Also, there was a significant difference in the width of the lingual elevation and root between the two birds

In order to determine the most efficient size of a Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM), it is necessary to explore the relationship between the loading factor and the capacity of the STATCOM. The case study utilized the Iraqi National Super Grid System (INSGS), which consisted of a 24-bus configuration.

A Robust U-Net-Based Approach for Accurate Brain Tumor Segmentation Using Multimodal MRI Data
Get PDFDetecting and quantifying the extent of brain tumors poses a formidable challenge in medical centers. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) has developed as a non-invasive brain cancers' primary diagnostic tool, offering the crucial advantage of avoiding ionizing radiation. Brain tumor manually segmented boundaries within 3D MRI volumes is an exceedingly time-intensive task, heavily reliant on operator expertise. Among brain tumors, gliomas stand out as the prevalent and highly malignant, significantly impacting patients' life expectancy, particularly at their highest grade. Recognizing the pressing need for a reliable, completely automatic segmentation technique to efficiently assess tumor extent, this study introduces a robust approach. A completely automated brain tumor segmentation method is proposed, leveraging U-Net-based deep convolutional networks. This approach underwent rigorous evaluation on the Multimodal Brain Tumor Image Segmentation BraTS-19 dataset a widely recognized medical image analysis dataset featuring multimodal MRI scans of brain tumors, including glioblastoma, anaplastic astrocytoma, and lower-grade glioma, coupled with corresponding manual tumor segmentations. This dataset serves as a pivotal resource for advancing automatic brain tumor segmentation techniques and assessing their performance using metrics like the Dice score, which achieved 92% for entire tumor. Cross-validation results affirm the efficiency and promise of our method in achieving accurate segmentation

No full textThe research aims to explore the extent to which private bank departments, the research sample, carry out human resource management practices and fulfill their obligations specified in the psychological contract towards workers and the impact of this on their job satisfaction, considering the fulfillment of the psychological contract as a mediating variable between those practices and job satisfaction, data was collected through a questionnaire for a sample (52) of the total workers in the research community, whose number is estimated at (180), data analyzed by statistical program (SPSS.V25) to describe the variables and test the research hypotheses, where mean, correlation and regression used for that, research reached a set of conclusions, including human resource management practices can be a good predictor of the extent to which the psychological contract is fulfilled, and that the latter is considered a variable with a total mediation between human resource management practices and job satisfaction. And some suggestions, including managing private bank must must clarify the employee's duties and expectations accurately, and what the organization will offer in return, during employment interviews. And it should not set expectations or make unrealistic promises and pledges that are difficult to fulfill and, when violated, may lead to dissatisfaction.
Inventorying The Most Common Broccoli Pest Insect and Assessing the Effectiveness of Sticky Traps in Reducing Damage
Get PDFBroccoli (Brassica oleracea) is a cool-season crop that can be grown year-round under controlled conditions such as greenhouses. And the results showed that it was attacked by many pests causing direct damage to crops. As cabbage grey aphid, cabbage white butterfly, great white butterfly, diamondback moths, and cabbage cutworm, and using stick traps have efficient in controlling the density of pests and can be applied within the integrated pest control, so their use avoids damage to the crop. The trap was significant and superior in monitoring and recording the first appearance of the insect pest, as well as in the effect on the quantity and quality of the product obtained, where the highest production was recorded, amounting to approximately 1200kg/greenhouse and the absence of the need to use chemical pesticides for control compared to the control (without traps), where the production reached 700 kg/ greenhouse.
Bio Effect of Seven Aqueous Plant Extracts Against Khapra Beetle Trogoderma Granarium Everts
No full textThe study showed the effectiveness of the aqueous extracts of seven plant species for Clove buds (Syzygium aromaticum), Garlic seed (Allium sativum), Thyme leaves (Thymus vulgaris), Eucalyptus leaves (Eucalyptus oleosa), Sage (Salvia officinalis), Alaaya leaves (Eminium spiculatum), and red hot pepper fruits (Capsicum annuum) with five different concentrations (1.5, 3, 5, 7.5 and 10) % in some Biological aspects of the Khapra beetle larvae Trogoderma granarium Everts. The aqueous extract of sagebrush showed the highest lethal effect, as the killing rate was 100% at a concentration of 5%, and toxicity index and toxicity efficiency amounted to 100, 28, and 23, respectively, compared to the rest of the studied plants. It was noted that the aqueous extracts of plants sagebrush and sagebrush tested showed the characteristic of repelling insects and that the sagebrush plant gave the highest repelling rate of 63.33%, while the plants of garlic, hot pepper, cloves, thyme, and eucalyptus showed the characteristic of attraction and that the aqueous extract of cloves gave the highest attraction rate of 73.33
The Effect of Adding Semen Plasma & Some Types of Oils to the Semen Diluents of Awassi Rams on Vitality & Deformitied of Sperm Stored at 5°C for Different Periods
Get PDF The current study was conducted to know the effect of adding seminal plasma and olive oil to diluted semen. Twelve Awassi rams were used, given a standard diet, and the diluted semen was divided into three groups; the first group was the control group, the second group was 3.5 ml of semen plasma / 100 ml of diluted semen while the third group had the addition of 3.5 ml of olive oil / 100 ml of diluted semen. Results obtained from this study indicate that there was a significant effect (P ? 0.05) increasing the percentage of individual motility and live sperm after 96 hours and in reducing the percentage of sperm abnormalities at 72 hours and sperm acrosomal abnormalities at 24 hours when adding semen plasma to sodium citrate diluent in. Futhermore, the addition of olive oil to dilute sodium citrate led to an increase in the percentage of live sperms at all preservation periods and to a decrease in the percentage of sperm and acrosome abnormalities. The storage periods of 48, 72 and 96 hours had a significant effect (P ? 0.05) on the studied traits, as the individual motility of the sperm and the live sperm were decreased with the increase of the preservation period. As for the percentage of sperm abnormalities and acrosome abnormalities of the sperm, it was increased with the progression shelf life at 96 hours compared to 24 hours
