An Experimental Study to Improve the Performance of a Solar Still Using Solar Collectors
The performance of the double-slope solar distiller is combined with two types of solar collectors (vacuum tube solar heater ETC and solar concentrator PTC). The water inside the solar distiller is heated by a heat exchanger linked with the solar heater and the concentrator. 1.4, 1.7 and LPM 2). The results showed that the high temperature of the brine water inside the distillate was obtained at the LPM 2 flow, while the productivity was 2.248, 2.774, and 4.367 liters / day, respectively, for a depth of 0.05 meters of brackish water for the three flows, respectively. The maximum thermal efficiency capacity per hour was 53%. And 51% and 64.1% for water flows of 1.4, 1.7, and LPM 2, respectively. 15.00 hours the thermal efficiency per hour was maximum when the brine temperature was maximum and the base of the tank was at 15.00 hours
Comparison of Heat Sinks with Different Perforations Number
In this paper, the influence of perforation number Np is experimentally studied (or in the other word, the effect of perforation space Ps on the heat sink performance). Three types of rectangular heat sinks were investigated; two types have been perforated by lateral holes (4 mm the hole diameter) distributed on two rows in the fin. First one has 12 holes in a fin (its Ps is 14.3mm) called (PHS-12p). Second heat sink has 8 holes in a single fin (its Ps is 20mm) called (PHS-8p). These two perforated types compared with the third heat sink, which has no perforation (solid heat sink). The comparison was investigated, presented and discussed. The experiment was conducted by forced convection device. The obtained results showed that dissipated heat, Nusslet number, and convective heat transfer coefficient were increased by using perforations compared with non-perforated heat sink. The use of more perforations has a positive effect on heat dissipation. The enhancement in heat transfer was 6.57% for PHS-12P, while PHS_8P improved by 1.75% only at Re 20000. Moreover, the heat sink weight decreases with the use perforated heat sink compared with the solid heat sink
Experimental Investigation of Solar Air Heater with Energy Storage Unit
The present study investigates a single-pass solar air collector (SAC) linked to a thermal energy storage unit. This system is designed to store energy by using a cement mortar molds storage bed during daylight hours and subsequently reutilize it at night. A solar collector was used in this research, which was consecutively connected to the cement mortar molds bed. High-density cement mortar molds (570 kg) were used as a storage medium. The experiments were conducted on clear days for two random days at a constant airflow rate (0.0217 kg/s) for the climate of Mosul City, Iraq. The study assessed the parameters influencing the thermal performance of the SAC integrated with the cement mortar molds storage bed. Measurements of solar radiation intensity and air temperatures at various locations were recorded. The data indicated that the cement mortar molds storage bed achieved a temperature difference of approximately 10? post-sunset, with this difference sustained for 4-5 hours. The cement mortar molds bed demonstrated the capability to retain heat for an extended post-sunset, releasing it during nighttime
The Diagnosis of the Dimensions of Psychological Capital
This present research aims at identifying the dimensions of the psychological capital of the employees of the directorate of Education in Nineveh expressed by its dimensions:(self-efficiency, hope, optimism and flexibility). The questionnaire forms were adopted as the main tool to collect the data and the statistical software SPSS V26 and AMOS software were used to analyze the data of (202) subjects as employees in who occupy managerial level positions through several descriptive and analytical approaches. From the results of the statistical analysis, a set of conclusions were drawn, which showed the results of the field research via diagnosing the availability of the psychological capital dimensions in the field researched and this indicates that the Directorate of Education in Nineveh pay a good attention to building a psychological capital, which is represented by its dimensions that lead to the progress and advance of the individuals. Moreover, the research submitted a group of recommendations including the necessity to pay a considerable attention to the psychological capital as it is a very vital topic and as it has an important effect on the psychology of the individual who works in an organization and which can provide good benefits and a competitive advantage
Internal control and its role in enhancing the credibility of financial reporting and transparency: an exploratory study of the opinions of a sample of auditors at the Northern Technical University
This study aims to identify the correlation and effect between internal control (an independent variable) and its dimensions represented by (control environment, information and communication systems, control procedures, risk assessment, control) and transparency as a (dependent variable) through its dimensions represented by (trust and empowerment, Issue, Integrity, Participation) through a survey of the opinions of a sample of accountants and auditors at the Northern Technical University.
To achieve the goal of the study, a questionnaire was prepared and distributed in the researched organization as a random sample of ( ) individuals. The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach to answer the hypotheses of the study and reach the results.
The study concluded that internal control has a positive and significant impact on transparency, while the influence process extended to reflect the impact of each dimension of internal control on transparency.
The study recommended the need to work on continuous training for accountants and auditors to deepen their awareness of the importance of internal control in order to achieve transparency and conduct more studies to serve Iraqi organizations
The Contribution of Quick Response Manufacturing in Achieving Operational Excellence- An exploratory study of the opinions of a sample of workers in the General Company for Home Furniture Industry in Mosul
Abstract :
The current research sought to demonstrate the contribution of rapid response manufacturing in achieving operational excellence in the General Company for Home Furniture Industry in Mosul. Down to a research problem that does rapid response manufacturing contribute to achieving operational excellence? By adopting the speed of response to meet changing environmental conditions, For the purpose of creating a modern, rapidly changing manufacturing environment that produces products in record time within the production processes through which excellence can be achieved and the organization’s performance can be improved. With the possibility of its application in the Iraqi environment, specifically in the General Company for Home Furniture Industry in Mosul, As the research sample included a group of workers, numbering (63) .The questionnaire was adopted as a main tool for data collection, and the analytical descriptive approach was used for the purpose of analyzing its results, for the purpose of analyzing the content of the questionnaire in terms of the data it contained and testing the research hypotheses, some ready-made and appropriate statistical software tools were adopted for the study, including (SPSS 26).The research also reached a set of conclusions, perhaps the most prominent of which is the presence of a direct and significant effect of rapid response manufacturing in achieving operational excellence, in terms of the value of the regression coefficient, and based on these conclusions, a set of proposals was presented, the most important of which is that the Iraqi industrial companies in general and the organization in question should enhance interest in the manufacturing process, especially manufacturing with rapid response, as a result of its direct connection with its customers to take care of the production process. The Reality of Health Service Quality from The Perspective of The American Institute of Medicine (IOM) In Bakhshin Hospital in Sulaymaniyah Governorate: The Reality of Health
The current research aims to know the actual reality of the dimensions of health service quality provided by Bakhshin Hospital in Sulaymaniyah Governorate and to indicate the relative importance of the six Aims set by the American Institute of Medicine (IOM) represented by (Safety, Effectiveness, Efficiency, Timeliness, Patient-centered, Equity). To achieve this, the descriptive approach was used to collect and analyze data using the (SPSS 26) program, by choosing an intentional sample consisting of the staff (medical - health - administrative - technical). The questionnaire was the main tool for the research.
The researchers reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which is the availability of quality health service from the perspective of the American Institute of Medicine at a good rate which reflects the awareness of the respondents of the research variables. Based on the conclusions, a set of proposals was developed, the most important of which are: providing a safe environment for employees and patients, enhancing patient safety, avoiding medical errors, and providing more safe services
Assessment the Ag and ZnO Biosynthesized Nanoparticles effects on Giardia lamblia trophozoites which grown in HSP-1 culture media
Chemotherapy with drugs such as Metronidazole (MTZ) derivative products is currently the preferred treatment for giardiasis. However, these agents have been linked to a variety of negative side effects, varying from nausea to probable geno toxicity. Aim of this study to conduct an in vitro study on the efficiency of silver (Ag) and zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles (NPs) biosynthesized by green ecofriendly method using Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli against Giardia trophozoites. Methods Silver and Zinc oxide NPs formation was confirmed based on ability of selected bacteria to biosynthesized these NPs. The particle size arranges of (29.5 nm) for Ag P. aeruginosa and (32 nm) for Ag E. coli. Particle size of ZnO for P. aeruginosa was (25 nm) and (29.7nm) for E. coli. Giardia trophozoites cultivated on HSP-1 media were subjected to different concentration of biosynthesized NPs at (0.025, 0.050, 0.075 mg/ml) for (24, 48, 72 hrs.). Significant reduction (P<0.05) in trophozoite number was recorded by the two groups of Ag and ZnO nanoparticles for both bacteria and was 91% for Ag NPs for both E. coli and P. aeruginosa and 73% for ZnO for both bacteria at concentration of 0.075mg/ml after 72 hrs. Morphological difference appeared as destructive with the release of the cytoplasm outside. The cytotoxic effects of Ag and ZnO NPs on Giardia lamblia trophozoite exceeded that of metronidazole, these particles can be recommended for use, especially at higher concentrations that lead to total death rates
Assessment The Prevalence Of Secondary Bacterial Infection Isolated From Patients with Covid-19 Virus in Kirkuk City
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the cause of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), was first reported in China in late 2019 from a zoonotic source. The great majority of Covid-19 cases are asymptomatic or cause only minor disease. However, a significant percentage of patients develop a respiratory illness that necessitates hospitalization, and such infections can progress to severe illness with hypoxemic respiratory failure necessitating prolonged ventilatory support.
Aim: the study aimed to assess the prevalence of bacterial co-infection in (50) COVID-19 diagnosed hospitalized patients, with an examination of demographic, laboratory, and clinical parameters.
Methods: Sputum were obtained from patients in Respiratory care unit (RCU) and care wards. The isolated bacteria was diagnosis by Vitek 2 analyzer system in Hawler Private Hospital. In addition, the hematological and biochemical tests were performed for all the 50 patients at the Al-Shiffa-14 Hospital laboratory.
Result: older people and those with underlying medical problems like hypertension (48%), diabetes (20%), chronic disease (26%), and cancer (6%) are more likely to develop severe illnesses. Strong correlation of lymphopenia (72%), increased CRP (98%), D-Dimer (84%), ferritin (88%) level and poor clinical outcome with the severity of the disease. Bacterial co-infection was identified, the rate of bacterial co-infection registered in this study (50%) is matching with other studies investigated the bacterial co-infection in COVID-19 infected patients who admitted in hospital wards and RCU units with the recording of Klebsiella Pneumoniae (26%) as the most common bacteria isolated from the COVID-19 infected patients sputum samples.
Conclusion: secondary bacterial infection is common with COVID-19 patients and lead to significant morbidity and mortalit
Hematological Change in Type II Diabetic Mellitus (TIIDM) patient Infected with intestinal parasites in Kirkuk/Iraq
Abstract:
Type II Diabetic Mellitus (TIIDM) is a group of metabolic syndrome described by decline sensitivity of target organs to insulin and confirm or relative insufficiency of insulin excretion followed by electrolytes, water, protein, fat and other metabolic disorders, these defect result in diabetic patient to be susceptible to infect with intestinal parasites. The current study is conducted on 106 Iraqi participants,(67 with TIIDM patients and infected with parasite and 39 TIIDM without parasitic infection as control),aged (25 – 75) years, whom diagnosed by Consultant physician, according to the clinical signs and laboratory diagnosis HbA1c and hematological test (WBC, NEU, LYM, Hb ), during the period between November 2021 to March 2022. The practical part conducted at Kirkuk city in laboratories of Azadi Teaching Hospital (ATH). Two ml of blood sample were taken by intravenous injection and put in sterile tubes that contain anticoagulant EDTA and performed the following tests: HbA1c, Complete Blood Count (CBC). One hundred and six (106) participates (67 diabetic patients infected with parasite and 39 diabetic patients without parasitic infection (control) after the laboratory6 diagnosis, the result was: the ratio of white blood cell (WBC) and lymphocyte (LYM) increased, but depletion occurred in the ratio of Hb in TIIDM patient infected with parasite. This study proved that Blastocystis hominis is the most common type of parasite that has an effect on type II diabetic patients that affect hematological parameters, and Schistosoma mansoni has the least effect.
