Evaluation of A Parabolic Basin Complex Using Porous Aluminum ?Filling In An Absorbent Receiver

    Get PDF
This study proposes a detailed PTC model. Our motive was to ensure accuracy while ensuring fast and inexpensive calculations. These tests were performed using aluminum porous media with two operation modes: an evacuated glass absorption tube. Air and metallic aluminum fibers are added inside the absorption tube. To improve the performance of the parabolic basin complex, the model was tested in Kirkuk, Iraq, under actual operating conditions. The results were as follows: Thermal efficiency reached a maximum of 27.51% without any substance at a flow rate of 0.8 LPM and a radiation intensity of 1202 W/m2. However, when including porous media, the maximum efficiency increased to 45.76% at the same flow rate of 0.8 LPM, with a radiation intensity of 1220 W/m2. That is, the results showed an improvement in performance by 18.25%. Therefore, porous materials' permeability and thermal conductivity are essential to determining the temperature gradient. The porous medium's porosity and increased thermal conductivity increased the exit temperature. The results indicated the possibility of using aluminum metallic fibers for the system to improve performance

    Get PDF
Today's complex urban energy and transportation systems demand new maintenance solutions to keep them running properly. This study develops an AI-driven predictive maintenance solution for electrical substations and HEV batteries using data from the Internet of Things sensors. Our framework uses machine-learning methods such as Bi-LSTM, GRU, and GBT models to spot system weaknesses with higher accuracy. Based on test results Bi-LSTM proved better than other models by achieving a 91% F1 score alongside 4.3% Mean Absolute Error across predictions and anomaly detection. According to the results, the proposed framework lowered maintenance costs by half and proved better than traditional and recent methods. The proposed system combines insights from power substations and develops edge-cloud technologies to better use EV batteries. Real-world systems data validate those reductions in downtime happen together with better system reliability. This system now works in cities, tracks vehicle fleets, and supports smart city construction. The predictive system framework delivers exceptional energy and mobility management while remaining affordable and expandable for future urban infrastructure solutions

Optimizing Indoor Temperature Control Using Genetic Algorithm for PID Tuning

    Get PDF
This study was conducted to explore ways to save energy focusing on Temperature control through genetic algorithm (GA)based on the Proportional Integral Derivation controller (PID) to obtain the best PID gain parameters (kp, ki, kd) through which the settling time, steady state error, and overshoot are improved, which showed better performance than using traditional PID because of its fast and sharp control it provided. The best results for the parameters were using integrated time absolute error (ITAE)as a GA objective function where k [0.8598 0.0669 0]. However, by using Integrated of absolute error(IAE), the best results obtained were k [12.9765 0.2534 0], It is possible to improve system’s response from using traditional PID which is considered a long time (more than 25 seconds) as compared to the PID with Genetic algorithm(GA).       The study showed that the best results were obtained using the IAE as an objective function for GA, as the system reached the stable state in the shortest possible time.

    Get PDF
In industrial and electronic applications, the research on enhancing the performance of heat sinks is of increasing importance. The objective is to reduce weight and costs while simultaneously improving thermal and hydraulic efficiency. This study provides a thorough examination of theoretical, numerical, and experimental research that pertains to the optimization and design of heat sinks with a variety of geometric shapes.  We theoretically derived analytical equations for one-dimensional conductive heat transfer, which facilitated the determination of the optimal dimensions of fins of various types, including rectangular, triangular, vertical, and circular fins, as well as fins with conical, concave, and convex shapes. These theoretical findings established a scientific foundation for the development of fins that optimize thermal efficiency, minimize material consumption and weight, and consider the impact of physical and thermal properties on performance. By simulating heat transfer and fluid flow using sophisticated tools, we designed numerical studies to enhance the performance of heat sinks. These studies evaluated the impact of multiple design factors, such as fin dimensions, number, arrangement, angles of inclination, and different geometric shapes, under a variety of flow conditions. The objective of these studies was to enhance the heat transfer rate and minimize thermal waste, all while creating innovative designs that can operate efficiently under a variety of operating conditions, including natural and forced cooling systems

    Get PDF
The research aims to shed light on an important tool that helps in implementing digital finance, a field of interest to researchers, companies, and individuals. This tool is the electronic wallet, which provides features that facilitate digital financial transactions for large segments of society without the need for a dedicated bank account. It can be used with a smartphone with a local phone number and a communication network in any geographical area. The electronic wallets used were the Zain Cash wallets, provided by the Zain Iraq mobile network. The research used a quantitative analytical and statistical approach by collecting real quantitative data from the Central Bank of Iraq's website, preparing it, and testing a simple linear regression analysis statistically using EViews 10. Microsoft Excel 16 was also used to prepare the data and calculate the natural logarithm to achieve the best results in the statistical test. The results concluded that the use of electronic wallets has a statistically significant impact on enhancing digital finance. The research proposes testing a larger number of electronic wallets to determine their impact on digital financial inclusion

Leaving animal tissue waste in the form of waste after slaughter pollutes the environment, so one of the goals of this study is to try to use it to make gelatin. Other goals include examining the functional, physical, and chemical properties of gelatin, comparing them to commercial gelatin, which has practical and economic value and researching some of the characteristics of marshmallows made from it. The findings indicated that the viscosity, in comparison to commercial gelatin, which reached 4.1°cP, hide gelatin's gel strength, elasticity, cohesiveness, melting point, and gelation dropped to 3.5 cP, 271.2 g, 5.00 mm, 0.90, 29.00, and 14.57°C, respectively. cP, 446.6 g, 5.07 mm, 0.99, 32.67, and 17.67 °C, the pH values of skin gelatin were higher, at 5.60 and 4.50, respectively. After 30 and 60 minutes, the gelatin's hide expanded and stabilized the foam more than the commercial gelatin (75.25, 90.96, and 84.75%, respectively) (63.37, 90.91, and 87.88%, respectively). This study discovered 18 distinct types of amino acids, including threonine, tyrosine, asparagine, aspartic acid, leucine, phenylalanine, serine, glycine, histidine, lysine, alanine, arginine, cysteine, valine, isoleucine, methionine, proline and hydroxyproline. The gelatin's hide had lower levels of these amino acids than the commercial gelatin. In contrast to the commercial marshmallows, which achieved the same qualities of 589.5 g, 4.7 mm, and 0.87, the factory-made marshmallows' gel strength, elasticity, and cohesiveness were poor, measuring 465.8 g, 4.4 mm, and 0.87, respectively.  The marshmallow sample prepared from commercial gelatin T0 received the highest marks for all qualities in the sensory evaluation, followed by the marshmallow sample made from gelatin from cow hides (T1).This means that it obtained great pleasure scores that were almost similar to the marshmallows made from commercial gelatin; this is due to the properties of the hide gelatin that are similar to those of commercial gelatin. Therefore, gelatin's hide, as an inexpensive by-product that can be used as a stabilizer, thickener and foaming component in many foods, as well as other applications
