    No full text
This study examines 6 sophomore English majors' attitudes toward learning English and reflects their learning strategies that come hand in hand with the attitudes. The study uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to reveal Chinese college students' enthusiasm during COVID-19 epidemic in China. In terms of a quantitative inquiry, a questionnaire with three dimensions - cognitive, affective and behavioral is designed to garner an overall evaluation of attitudes from 50 sophomore English majors' students for the selection of participants and research themes. The qualitative data are teacher’s journals and semi-structured interviews. The results of this study show 4 positive and 3 negative attitudes affect the online English Language Learning. The 2 positive attitudes namely self-preparation and collaborative learning help students to work harder for class and encourage them to join with their friends in working on their assignments, reports, and projects. Then the other two: students’ curiosity of cultural English background and extensive readings motivate them to research into more English sources to support their learning such as more books and materials in the libraries and on the websites. On the contrary, the 3 negative attitudes toward the instability of the Internet, the dissatisfaction of teachers and materials make them tired of studying and thus, lose their motivation and attention in class. This incident needs teachers' facilitation and directive role to help them proceed with their language learning in the ‘new normal’ platform. The results of this study mentioned above are attributed to the institutions where the researchers work, to researchers in China and Thailand, and to the global learning community in the 21st century

Code-switching, or the use of two or more languages within a single conversation, is a common phenomenon among multilingual individuals. This study provides an abstract of a research project that explored the thoughts of the Tinago National Junior High School English language teachers regarding the use of code-switching in teaching the English language. This study was conducted using purposive sampling, having the three English language teachers in the said school, who were invited for an interview to share the necessary data. These three English language teachers were the teachers handling English subjects in the entire junior high school. A thematic analysis was utilized in interpreting the data shared by the respondents. Results revealed and provided insights that the use of code-switching in teaching the English language gives a beneficial impact in such ways that the lesson becomes simpler and easier to grasp. Moreover, students are able to speak up and share their ideas with no hesitation as they can freely express themselves by using the English language and mix it up with their first language or other preferred languages based on their comfort and convenience. This study provides thoughts and ideas to readers about the use of code-switching in teaching the English language. &nbsp

    No full text
The COVID-19 pandemic swept over the world and changed the way many people lived forever. From one day to the other, many countries enforced laws on wearing masks and keeping social distance, while many companies enforced rules on hand sanitizing and continuous COVID-19 testing, all to keep the virus from spreading. In late 2022, when this research paper was written, we wanted to find out if the COVID-19 pandemic had had any lasting effects on regular people’s hygiene habits and hygiene awareness, as the pandemic induced laws and regulations were being loosened and people were once again left to make their own choices. As the team is based in Thailand, we decided to focus on varying demographics of people living in Thailand when conducting our research. We used data collected through surveys to get a better understanding of people’s hygiene habits and hygiene awareness, and asked questions defining demographic factors to be able to compare different groups among the people answering our survey. As we suspected, hygienical habits and awareness had changed in Thailand during the pandemic, but contrary to our original assumptions demographic factors had very little effect on the matter

The purpose of this study was to contribute to the field of research on Thai college students' perceptions of online learning during the period of covid-19. Due to the insufficiency of research conducted on Thai universities, the purpose of this study was to fill this gap. Using a questionnaire, the study explored the preferences and difficulties of online and onsite learning among the participants. This investigation centered on Thailand's undergraduate students. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic that began in 2019, students have been forced to deal with the problem of the virus's propagation. This is a problem that the entire world faces daily. Thus, the majority of the population adapted to this viral disease. Including students in the education system had a significant impact on students, preventing them from living a normal life and requiring them to adopt a new learning style by studying online. To comply with social distancing, students were required to conform to government and university-mandated measures. As a result, online learning was implemented as a solution for social isolation in the education sector, despite the fact that this had an effect on the method of learning. The survey results revealed that the majority of respondents prefer hybrid courses that combine online and in-person instruction. This demonstrated that COVID-19 had little effect on learning satisfaction and difficulty. Instead, secondary factors, such as Internet issues and environmental conditions, had a greater impact. The majority of students' survey responses were virtually identical, indicating that they were able to acclimate well to the covid-19 current situation. On the other hand, the survey results revealed that online learning had a negative impact on students' learning experiences when it came to communication and taking exams, which can be problematic for online students

    No full text
This essay will analyze the revenues and losses of three Chinese media companies, namely IQIYI, Mango Excellent Media, and Bilibili, by comparing their financial revenues, expenses, and cash flows over three years from 2019 to 2021 in the main video direction before and after the epidemic, in order to deduce the trends of the video media industry in the post-epidemic economic recovery. All sectors of the physical market have been affected by the financial crisis during the epidemic, whereas the media and the entertainment industry have been able to maintain stable revenues and growth, which is why we are interested in this area. Therefore, we decided to conduct a detailed analysis of the financial performance of these three companies for the last three years to obtain findings. On the other hand, we will use quantitative analysis to collate the data from the websites and comparative analysis of the same categories so that the reader can easily understand the strengths and weaknesses of the three companies. Besides using chart analysis, the essay will also use graphical analysis to compare the three-year turnover and membership sales of the three companies, which will enable the analysis of whether financial losses are more influenced by operational management or the epidemic, to recommend targeted solutions for improvement

With the aggravation of population aging, the elderly are taking an increasing proportion in social life. Due to aging, their physical abilities are declining, and they urgently need attention from all walks of life, especially designers. Food is an indispensable part of people's daily life. In recent years, as aging becomes more and more serious, the issue of age-appropriateness of food packaging has gradually drawn people's attention to the role of food packaging in transmitting food information and protecting food, however, some current products on the market do not show the age-appropriateness of packaging, often ignoring the real visual and psychological needs of the elderly. In this paper, we will analyze the existing problems in the elderly-friendly food packaging and propose food packaging design strategies to improve the efficiency of information transmission in the elderly-friendly food packaging

ABSTRACT Parent-child interaction is an important way to enhance parent-child relationship. Parent-child interaction products are an important medium to close the parent-child relationship. However, many parent-child products do not achieve effective parent-child interaction and emotional satisfaction. The purpose of this paper is to explore reasonable ways of parent-child interaction and design methods of parent-child interaction products through the study of 6-9 years old school children and their mothers. This paper studies child psychology and parent-child interaction from the fields of psychology and product design. By comparing with traditional parent-child interaction, this paper analyzes the shortcomings of traditional parent-child interaction, and designs from the perspective of parent-child emotion. Secondly, with 6-9 years old school children and their mothers as target users, in-depth research and analysis are carried out. Then, through questionnaire survey and in-depth interview, parent-child users are investigated and studied to explore the potential needs of users and refine the design principles of product design. Finally, through theoretical research and user analysis, parent-child interactive products are designed to complete the product design practice. Based on the problems existing in parent-child interaction and the interaction needs of users, from the perspective of emotional interaction, this paper changes the focus of interaction from the interaction between people and products to the promotion of interaction between people through the medium of products, and then rises to the cultivation of parent-child emotion, which is of great significance to the formation of a good parent-child relationship and the healthy growth of children
