    Get PDF
The purpose of the article is to develop a methodology that will make it possible to use attitudes and expressions of professional language to the maximum extent when selecting business goals of high-tech entrepreneurship during the development, production and sale of the latest products and to reduce the sensitivity of the assessment to small deviations of the factors and increase its reliability. It is proven that the proposed method allows to use the attitude and expression of professional language to the maximum when choosing a business goal. At the same time, the sensitivity of the assessment to small deviations of the factors decreases, and the reliability increases. It has been investigated and established that when using fuzzy methods in the decision-making process in high-tech production, unlike the existing ones, there is an opportunity to actively use fuzzy estimates and different points of view of people who carry out planning or decision-making, as well as fuzzy information expressed in words

Entrepreneurial determinants of Moroccan business failure: entrepreneurial behaviors and attitudes

    Get PDF
The main objective of this article is to determine the entrepreneurial determinants of Moroccan business failures. To address our research problem, we employ multiple regression models. Entrepreneurial behaviors and attitudes are sourced from the dataset provided by Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM). Additionally, we enhance our dataset by incorporating entrepreneurial variables from the World Bank entrepreneurship database and OMPIC. Applying variable selection techniques and models selection criteria, such as AIC and BIC, the main results indicate that the model composed of variables related to entrepreneurial behavior and attitudes variables, specifically fear of failure rate, perceived capabilities rate, and perceived opportunities rate, better explains bankruptcy rate. This empirical study represents the inaugural examination in Morocco employing entrepreneurial behaviors and attitudes variables to assess their impact on business failure. The findings from this article could open up new perspectives for identifying entrepreneurial variables that explain business failure in Morocco. To the best of our knowledge, our research is the first to explore this topic in this country

Dynamic multi-scale simulation for evaluating combat effectiveness against aerial threats

    Get PDF
The development and assessment of modern weapon systems require efficient and flexible simulation tools. This paper introduces a multi-scale discrete-event simulation framework designed to evaluate the dynamic combat effectiveness of weapon systems. The framework combines high-resolution and low-resolution models to address the complexities of real-world engagements while maintaining computational efficiency. Physical processes are encapsulated as modular state transition functions, allowing seamless integration of a multi complexity level modeling approach. The framework’s versatility is demonstrated through a case study analyzing the effectiveness of a tank weapon system against a fleet of drones. Non-deterministic methods such as Monte Carlo simulations for uncertainty quantification are used to evaluate probabilistic key metrics, such as projectile accuracy and lethality, providing insights into engagement dynamics and optimization of firing strategies. By leveraging a hybrid continuous/discrete approach and modular design, the framework enables comprehensive assessments of weapon effectiveness during an engagement, bridging gaps in traditional deterministic methodologies for both static and dynamic targets. Future enhancements will focus on optimizing sampling techniques for broader applicability of high-resolution stochastic simulations in modern combat scenarios

Framework for deep reinforcement learning in Webots virtual environments

    Get PDF
Reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms, particularly deep reinforcement learning (DRL), have shown transformative potential in robotics by enabling adaptive behaviour in virtual environments. However, a comprehensive framework for efficiently testing, training, and deploying robots in these environments remains underexplored. This study introduces a standardized, open-source framework designed specifically for the Webots simulation environment. Supported by a robust methodology, the framework integrates innovative design patterns and the digital twin (DT) concept with three distinct design patterns for structuring agent-environment interaction, notably including a novel pattern aimed at improving sim-toreal transferability, to enhance RL workflows. The proposed framework is validated through experimental studies on both a model the inverted pendulum and a production-grade Pioneer 3-AT robotic platform. The experiments highlight the framework’s ability to bridge the gap between virtual training and real-world implementation. All resources, including the framework, methodology, and experimental configurations, are openly accessible on GitHub

Drawbacks of demand accuracy assessment models on the example of slow-moving spare parts in civil aviation

Lots of researchers worldwide use a big variety of forecast models to predict demand. After running the forecast model, researcher always has a question if received prediction was accurate or not. To do so, a number of methods exist to assess model accuracy. Application of accuracy assessment models itself is not complex. The most difficult part for researcher: interpretation of the result and the understanding of information to take the right decisions. Companies who do demand forecast in 95% of cases use only one accuracy assessment method for their forecast model. In case, companies do it for fast moving items and the business doesn’t have any special requirement for the result level, it could be accepted. But in case slow-moving inventory is used and the company requires a certain service level, then there is a space for potential mistakes when running one model only. This work figures out the drawbacks of the current approaches towards forecast accuracy assessment of spare parts with little transaction history and proposes approaches to choose right accuracy assessment models. Experiment on data of existing company A that does aircraft maintenance was run to study the results of various forecast accuracy assessment models

With the rapid growth of the fast-food restaurant sector in Azerbaijan, the number of domestic and international enterprises is increasing. With this, the brand name becomes very important. Based on this, the purpose of the study is to create brand names for new fast-food restaurants. The study is qualitative research and was analysed by case method. As a result of the study, brand names were suggested by participants, and these brand names were analysed. Suggested brand names were classified before being analysed. Brand names classified in 7 groups as creative, national, fast, delicious, local, global, and competitive were then analysed. Among the brand names suggested by the participants, the most suitable were for the creative concept. Brand names with the meaning national suggested by the participants in both cases are among the most recommended. When evaluated in general, a total of 118 brand names have been suggested, and among these names, more suggested names are suitable for the words national, creative, local, delicious, global, food, and fast. The rapid development of the fast-food sector in Azerbaijan and the interest of both local and global companies in this sector create a need for new brand names. In this respect, it is thought that the article will contribute to the academic literature and practitioners

The role of creative leadership in change management

    Get PDF
The problem that exists today is that it is extremely difficult to assess the influence of a leader on the change management system, since a significant number of his individual character traits or abilities are unknown, which contributes to this. It is important to establish which factors of creativity are more important than others. The key idea of the article is to demonstrate a methodical approach, how to evaluate and select the most effective qualities of creativity in a leader in order to increase the effectiveness of the change management system. The purpose of the article is to determine the level of importance of the factors of the leader’s creativity that influence change management in the organization. The object of the study is the level and structure of the leader’s creativity in the organization. The research methodology includes the method of analytic hierarchy process developed by Thomas L. Saaty, the method of expert review, which was strengthened by the Delphi method. As a result of the empirical analysis involving 40 experts from Ukraine and Poland, four key factors of leadership creativity were identified and ranked by influence: 1) openness to new ideas, 2) risk-taking ability, 3) flexibility of thinking, and 4) social interaction skills. Risk-taking ability emerged as the most influential factor in effective change management. After that, we presented the key directions of how they can be developed. These findings provide actionable recommendations for enhancing leader creativity in practical organizational settings. Rather than offering general advice for similar research, future research should test the applicability of this factor structure across different sectors, organizational sizes, and cultural contexts to validate and refine the proposed model
