Get PDFAccepting László Rátgéber’s invitation to the IV. International Basketball Conference made me delighted. My objective as the Minnesota Timberwolves’ head coach was to present a fresh coaching philosophy to European basketball players. Everyone wants to win in sports that are competitive. In addition to coaching the professional basketball players to victory, a successful head coach serves as a mentor to help them reach their professional goals. This goes well beyond the players’ technical and physical training. It entails leading by example and providing mental, psychological, and lifestyle support. Top basketball players must physically and mentally perform at the highest level under intense pressure due to the demanding competition schedule, but mental health cannot be compromised in the name of achievement. Players must focus on developing their individual skills, which is aided by team self-control and incredibly straightforward, uncomplicated team communication. Having technical preparation boosts one’s confidence. The long playing season can be divided into manageable details to establish development points and goals that will serve as a concrete accomplishment that will inspire and provide the team as a whole. The National Basketball Academy in Pécs has world-class facilities! Not only is the infrastructure truly incredible – I have not seen anything like it in Europe – but the entire environment. Get PDFCulture and Sport now is a very popular term, oftentimes, maybe even overused. What does the culture mean? It’s just about the things that you choose to emphasize. Well that you choose to enforce to your players your staff and your team. So whatever those things are, you have to figure out what’s most important to you. A head coach’ job is less about X’s and O’s, and a lot more about leadership. The NBA has a big staff of 15 people, includ-ing four senior coaches, four player development coaches, and a support staff. The head of the staff is responsible for skill acquisition, skill development, and preparing individ-ual programs for players. The support staff includes three video coordinators, who help younger players learn the league terminology and coaches’ tendencies. The analytics department, consisting of five or six people, is responsible for game planning and interpreting data. The analytics per-son is embedded in the staff for game planning purposes and a newly hired staff member prepares a game plan and reviews it after each game
Towards National Methodologies for Measuring Corruption Perceptions
Get PDFThe aim of this paper is to examine internationally used methods for measuring corruption perceptions and to draw findings and conclusions on the need for national corruption perception methodologies and how they can be aligned with international approaches. The article\u27s findings suggest that there are a number of technical criticisms of international indicators regarding their validity, reliability and objectivity, which could be addressed by the development of a national indicator, while potentially improving aspects of the international indicator with respect to the above issues. The findings of this article are based on the results of the research and preparatory study carried out by the author in the framework of the KÖFOP-2.2.3-VEKOP-16-2016-00001 project, so-called "Capacity building and awareness raising for the increased detection and prevention of corruption cases".The aim of this paper is to examine internationally used methods for measuring corruption perceptions and to draw findings and conclusions on the need for national corruption perception methodologies and how they can be aligned with international approaches. Közhitelesség a digitális korban: az ingatlan-nyilvántartás átalakulása Magyarországon
Get PDFThe land register is one of the fundamental institutions of legal certainty and economic life, designed to guarantee the transparency of property relations and the security of transactions. The purpose of this study is to present the historical development of the Hungarian land register, with particular emphasis on the changes following the political transition and the introduction of the electronic registration system (E-ING). The analysis demonstrates that regulation has always closely followed socio-economic transformations, while technological progress has simultaneously created new challenges for both legislation and legal practice. The paper also provides a comparative outlook on the practices of neighbouring countries—Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Austria—juxtaposed with the Hungarian solutions. Special attention is given to the advantages and risks of electronic administration, especially concerning the evolving role of public authenticity, as well as the new dimensions of responsibility arising for legal representation in the context of automated decision-making. The findings indicate that the digitalisation of the land register is not merely an administrative simplification, but also raises new legal and theoretical issues that will shape the framework of legal certainty in the long term.Az ingatlan-nyilvántartás a jogbiztonság és a gazdasági élet egyik alapintézménye, amely a tulajdonviszonyok átláthatóságát és a forgalom biztonságát hivatott garantálni. A tanulmány célja, hogy bemutassa a magyar ingatlan-nyilvántartás történeti fejlődését, különös tekintettel a rendszerváltás utáni változásokra, valamint az elektronikus nyilvántartási rendszer (E-ING) bevezetésére. A vizsgálat rámutat arra, hogy a szabályozás mindig szorosan követte a társadalmi-gazdasági változásokat, ugyanakkor a technológiai fejlődés új kihívásokat is teremtett a jogalkotás és a jogalkalmazás számára. Az elemzés kitekintést nyújt a környező országok – Szlovákia, Csehország és Ausztria – gyakorlatára, összehasonlítva a magyar megoldásokkal. A tanulmány kiemeli az elektronikus ügyintézés előnyeit és kockázatait, különös figyelemmel a közhitelesség átalakuló szerepére, valamint az automatizált döntéshozatal és a jogi képviselet új felelősségi dimenzióira. Az eredmények arra mutatnak, hogy az ingatlan-nyilvántartás digitalizációja nem csupán adminisztratív könnyítést jelent, hanem egyben új jogi és elméleti kérdéseket is felvet, amelyek hosszú távon meghatározzák a jogbiztonság kereteit

Through the character of Angela, a production assistant turned viral TikTok persona, the film exposes the paradoxes of hyper-modern labor, the vacuity of digital self-expression, and the legacy of state violence in everyday infrastructures. Get PDFOn 8 July 2025, the Department of Criminal Law, Faculty of Law at the University of Maribor, hosted Francesca Albanese, the international law expert and UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967. In this contribution, the views shared at her expert lecture titled "Legal aspects of human rights violations and the Geneva Conventions in the occupied Palestinian territories" are outpined. Additionally, some concerns are raised regarding implications of Albanese\u27s views for the EU criminal law, in particular the legislative framework aiming at harmonization of the so-called hate speech offences under the Framework Decision 2008/913/JHA
