The Impact of Government Policies and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Empowerment on the Development of the Coffee Processing Industry: A Case Study of Banda Aceh
This study examines the impact of government policy and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) empowerment on the development of the coffee processing industry in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach with a sample of 30 coffee MSMEs, data were collected through surveys and interviews, and analyzed with multiple regression. The results reveal that government policy, including training, equipment assistance, and licensing facilitation, has a significant positive effect on industry development, although challenges remain in financing access and equitable support. Similarly, MSME empowerment, particularly in human resource capacity building and managerial guidance, also demonstrates a significant positive effect, yet programs tend to be short-term and lack sustainability. Simultaneously, both variables explain 53.2% of the variation in industry development, while the rest is influenced by factors such as market access, innovation, and local coffee culture. This study highlights the crucial role of adaptive government policy and continuous MSME empowerment in fostering a competitive and sustainable coffee industry in Banda Aceh
The Influence of Macroeconomics on GDP Growth
This study investigates the relationship between macroeconomic factors and GDP Growth, with a focus on their collective impact on GDP growth across 185 countries from 2001 to 2022. Utilizing a panel data approach, this research explores how variables such as Aggregate Effective Tax Rate (AETR), Statutory Tax Rate (STR), Employment Growth (EG), Population (P), Control of Corruption (COC), and Tax Visit (TV) affect economic performance. The Fixed Effects Model is selected as the most appropriate estimation technique based on Chow and Hausman tests. The results reveal that AETR, EG, and P have significant positive effects on GDP growth, indicating that effective tax collection, labor expansion, and demographic growth are key drivers of macroeconomic performance. In contrast, STR, COC, and TV are found to have no statistically significant influence. Furthermore, Random Forest analysis identifies Population, Employment Growth, and Control of Corruption as the most important predictors, while model refinement shows that excluding the TV variable improves explanatory power. These findings suggest that tax policy effectiveness relies more on enforcement and demographic support than on nominal tax rates alone. The study offers insights for policymakers to design tax systems that align with broader economic goals and institutional capacities
Visual Narratives: Mural Art’s Impact on Revitalizing Surabaya’s Heritage Sites
Surabaya, Indonesia’s second largest city, boasts a rich historical and cultural history. The paper investigates the transformative role of mural art in regenerating urban heritage sites, with a focus on Peneleh and Tambak Bayan villages. This study investigates how mural painting improves the aesthetic appeal and cultural relevance of urban historical sites using thorough case studies and interviews with persons involved in these projects. Mural painting in Surabaya not only preserves historical narratives and promotes community identity, but it also serves as an agent for economic development and tourism attractiveness. The findings highlight murals’ ability to contribute to urban regeneration, implying that more coordinated and comprehensive mural efforts, inspired by successful examples from other places, could maximize their influence. This study emphasizes the need of incorporating creative interventions into heritage conservation techniques in order to foster a greater awareness for Surabaya’s diverse cultural tapestry
Rehabilitation Center For Mental Disorders Using Therapeutic Architecture Approach
Mental health is an aspect that is as important as physical health and needs to be paid attention to improve the quality of human life. Mental health conditions influence psychological, social and emotional well-being. In recent years, mental health has become an important topic to discuss because the prevalence of mental disorders in Indonesia is quite high. According to Riset Kesehatan Dasar, 2018 (Riskesdas) the prevalence of mental disorders, especially for those aged 15 years and over has increased. Unfortunately, only 2.6% accessed counseling services or facilities. Apart from healing through psychotherapy and biomedical rehabilitation, environmental factors also contribute to the success recovery of their mental health. This can be done by means of architectural design by integrating the natural environment and controlling other factors such as sound, color, sight and light to create a therapeutic environment that can help the patient’s healing process. The researchers use the therapeutic architecture approach to the rehabilitation centre for mental disorders as a design method. Located in Bogor Regency with a special sloped site, the design illustrates implementation of therapeutic architecture, including the site plan, floor plan, building facade, landscape, and the interior
Seeing, Thinking, Doing: The Technology of Environmental Design
Technology driven design innovation is a timely issue in any age, but the concept is not new. In fact, the past tells us how to move forward well if we are also able to draw insights from our present circumstance. The case will be made that architectural design is rooted in technology but not the stuff of technology (the things), but rather the process of innovation that reveals insights, finds new applications, and perhaps most importantly, adapts existing strategies to situations in innovative ways. This paper outlines historic precedent, proposes a theoretical framework, and presents a case study proposal that draws on historic and emergent strategies and through synthetic modes of seeing, thinking, and doing, weaves technical, ecological, and social aspects as an essence of technology that is “by no means technological”
Commercial Video Tourism of Lawu Susu Village as Promotional Media Designing a Company Profile Video for Kampung Susu Lawu Tourism as Promotional Media
Milk is an essential food ingredient because it contains nutrients that the body needs. Cow’s milk has high nutritional value and has become necessary in human food consumption patterns. Kampung Susu Lawu (Lawu Milk Village) Agrotourism, located in Singolangu Hamlet, Magetan, East Java, is an integrated natural tourism concept with a dairy farming center with a 7,000 liters/day production capacity. Since it was founded on March 14, 2019, Kampung Lawu Agrotourism has yet to be widely known to the public. Therefore, promotional media is needed to increase visits to Kampung Susu Lawu and, at the same time, improve people’s purchasing power for milk products and their variants. Promotional videos ultimately became the promotional media for Kampung Susu Lawu because of their flexibility and adaptive nature when presented on various social media platforms that are currently trending. These efforts will help improve the regional economy
Domisilium Studio’s Design Process in Producing Projects That Express Identity
The role of Interior Design contributes greatly to the daily life of human beings, i.e. providing residential designs that deliver comfort, or designs that help businesses in commercial places, and designs that increase productivity in a workplace. With the increasing awareness of the importance of this role, many interior design firms have sprung up that offer similar services without having a clear identity of what differentiates the design nor design firm work culture that brings the designs. Hence, it is essential for a design firm to have an identity reflected in their work culture within the design process and the design they produced. This in turn will give the clients clear considerations when choosing a design firm, while on the other hand it will strengthen the design firm’s opportunities to generate projects that express identity both within the design process and the design produced. This paper discusses how Domisilium Studio generate design projects that express their identity, which are, reflected in their work culture within the studio’s design process, and the design the studio produced. Data collections were carried out with ethnographic interpretive method, while the analysis was using collective case studies. The aim of this paper is to generate knowledge on how an interior design firm working culture produced projects that express the company identity
Legal Compliance of Indonesian Marriage Law with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
The Indonesian Marriage Law Number 1 of 1974 requires marriages to follow the religious laws of both parties, creating challenges for couples from different faiths. These legal constraints often complicate marriage registration, affecting the legal status, inheritance rights, and recognition of children from such unions. The tension between individual rights and religious conformity results in a legal paradox, as Indonesia seeks to balance constitutional freedoms with religious harmony. This article explores the complexities of interfaith marriage in Indonesia, focusing on the interplay between religious doctrines, legal frameworks, and societal attitudes. Using a normative juridical approach, this study analyzes statutory regulations, court decisions, and legal literature to assess the alignment of Indonesia’s laws with international human rights standards, especially Article 16 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). Case studies show that while some court rulings have supported interfaith marriage, broader legal reforms and social acceptance remain necessary. The article concludes with recommendations for reform, emphasizing the need for legal provisions to accommodate interfaith unions, foster social acceptance, and create a balanced framework that respects religious values and individual freedoms. By promoting open dialogue and a more inclusive legal environment, Indonesia can navigate the complexities of interfaith marriage, balancing tradition with modernity. These efforts could contribute to a society that respects diversity and the evolving aspirations of its people
Legal Protection for Investors Against Insider Trading in The Indonesian Capital Market
This study explores how recent regulations introduced by Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan, or OJK) have influenced transparency, efficiency, and investor protection in the country’s capital market. Using a mixed-methods approach and combining quantitative analysis of market performance with qualitative insights from policy reviews, the research evaluates the impact of these regulatory changes. The findings suggest that OJK’s initiatives, including enhanced disclosure requirements, digital reporting systems, and simplified compliance procedures, have significantly improved market transparency and helped build investor confidence. Efficiency has also improved, with lower transaction costs and faster regulatory approvals thanks to greater automation and better policy alignment.[1] Moreover, stronger oversight and expanded investor education programs have contributed to better protection, especially for retail investors. Despite these gains, challenges remain, such as inconsistent implementation, limited resources, and compliance issues among smaller market participants. Overall, while OJK’s reforms mark important progress in modernizing Indonesia’s capital market, further efforts are needed to tackle structural issues. The study recommends ongoing policy refinement, stronger institutional collaboration, and targeted support for underserved groups. It highlights the importance of adaptive regulation in promoting sustainable market growth while managing risks, offering valuable lessons for policymakers in other emerging markets
