Design and implementation of an automated spray pyrolysis technique
56 pIn this work, we present the design and implementation of a Spray Pyrolysis automated equipment using different hardware and software components. The apparatus was designed using Solidworks software and then built with steel iron with dimensions of 400 x 450 x 600 mm. Several pieces were added in order to assemble the whole system. With the aim of realizing the control part of the automated system, a program was written on the MPLAB X IDE and transferred via Pickit 2 to the microcontroller PIC 18 F 4550 . Multiple tests were performed to check the application’s performance. In the end, a low-cost prototype that performs the Spray Pyrolysis technique automatically was realized

110 p. : ill. ; 30 cmThe Work presented in this thesis involves utilising the programmable logic controller of Siemens, the SIMATIC S7-1500 and the Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) Portal V14 software to develop a program that reduces human dependency, enhances safety measures, and improves the reliability of the demineralisation station processes at the Ras Djinet power plant. Additionally, the project includes establishing supervision of the station through a human-machine interface (HMI)
Study of Pore Level Influences on Reservoir Quality Based on Rock Typing: Case Study of Quartzite El Hamra, Algeria
One of the biggest challenges facing Geoscientists and reservoir modelers is how to improve the descriptive understanding of the hydrocarbons reservoir, and therefore, define the best representative reservoir properties (e.g., fluid flow capacity) in the simulation model, whereas poorly described reservoir characteristics can lead to a significant impact on reservoir performance predictions and its future production behaviors. In order to master the Quartzite El Hamra reservoir in Southern part of Hassi Messaoud field in Algeria, this study was dedicated to characterize the petrophysical properties by using rock typing and flow unit techniques (Winland R35 and FZI). The main objective was to evaluate the pore level’s influences on reservoir quality and log response and to study the relationships between the composition of pore geometry and reservoir quality. This allowed us to understand the factors that control the quality of the reservoir and the fluids’ flow characteristics. Moreover, this study was based on detailed description and laboratory tests on cores and thin sections and the integration of this information with geological, Petrophysical, and engineering data. Furthermore, appropriate set of reservoir properties (i.e., porosity—permeability ratio, R35, storage percentage, and percent flow) are well defined for six identified Hydraulic Flow Units (HFUs). The obtained results can improve reservoir simulation studies for performance prediction, history matching, and future development decisions in the field
Magnetic properties of Fe56Pd44−xGdx thin films
In this paper, we have studied the effect on the structure and magnetic properties of partial Pd substitution by Gd in Fe-Pd thin films of nominal composition Fe56Pd44−xGdx (x = 1, 3, 5, and 7), deposited onto Si(100) and Si(100)/SiO2 substrates by thermal evaporation. Several techniques contribute to the characterization of their microstructure and magnetic properties, such as x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy, alternating gradient field magnetometry, and magnetic force microscopy (MFM). X-ray diffraction shows that the as-deposited films are either amorphous or contain a disordered FePd phase, depending on the film thickness. The transformation of disordered fcc-FePd into ordered fct-FePd has been induced by a heat treatment at 530 °C for 4 h. The addition of gadolinium leads to a reduction in the coercivity as a consequence of the emergence of soft phases and of the progressive reduction of the fct-FePd phase, which is primarily responsible for the observed maze magnetic domains. The exchange coupling between the soft phase and the hard fct-FePd phase is demonstrated by first-order reversal curves (FORCs)
