In the last decade there has been a sudden and rapid development of the Internet. Together with its improvement, the issue of network security has become an important topic of a discussion over the international security mechanisms. The Internet, nowadays considered as space unrestricted by time or distance, has become an ideal place for new, previously unknown offenses and misdemeanours. Ipso facto, network is now an area that requires measures to ensure safetyof its users. Although a cybercrime is currently a subject of the work on complementary legal solutions on both national and international levels, we can wonder if thanks to them the Internet will become a safe place one day

Bój o historię i tożsamość. Analiza „marszowych” dyskursów

The article is about historical policies and discourses produced by modern nationalist movements, as well as centrist and left-wing. The increase in attendance and frequency of demonstrations in recent times is not due to the economic crisis, but the skillful construction of rigid political identity and setting sharp lines of division by the radical right. Representing her environment, and especially the National-Radical Camp, deftly took important historical anniversaries and – presenting themselves as ardent patriots – to define hostile environment as traitors. Centrist and left-wing environment seems to be helpless in the face of this political acceleration and brutalization

In the article „Known and the unknown aspects of utopia, anti-utopia and dystopia in the works of world cinema” examples of movies, in which these types of visions appear, were described. In the paper concepts of utopia, dystopia and anti-utopia were explained. The differences between these notions were presented. The word utopia comes from the book of Thomas More, which presented a vision of an ideal world in which notions of peace and order were realized. On the basis of the concept of utopia, the opposite was built: anti-utopia and dystopia representing an effect of a negative opinion about the surrounding reality. In the article polish and foreign movies, which are good examples of discussed concepts, were presented. Some of these movies were adaptations of the famous literary works, others were original works created solely by the filmmakers

Wydarzenia w Syrii i na Ukrainie jako przykład niepowodzenia współczesnych społecznych ruchów protestu

    No full text
The aim of this publication is to take an attempt to follow the phases of development of Syrian and Ukrainian people resistance movement and to answer the question about the role that each of them had been expected to play initially but is playing finally. The author attempts to prove that the main goal of each protest movement, which is to find institutions able to create a new, post-revolutionary order, was reached neither in Syria nor in Ukraine. Both of these movements suffered defeat and should be considered as collapsed. According to the theoretical basis of this analysis, which is the definition of a „protest movement” proposed by American sociologist R. E. Park, the essence of this phenomenon are phases which every single protest movement goes through during the formation. The author aims not only to analyze this process but also to consider reasons, circumstances and the moment when character of both Syrian and Ukrainian protest movements changed utterly and irretrievably

In accordance with Susan Sontag’s thesis on camp, camp is purely in the eye of the beholder, with its unconscious and innocent use considered to be the most perfect realization of the concept. This article is an attempt of camp-oriented interpretation and analysis of the film “Kamienie na Szaniec” (Stones for the Rampart; 2014) directed by Robert Gliński, which has the characteristics of camp: it is overaesthetic, stylistically inconsistent, inaccurate, filled to the brim with abuse and artificiality. Nowadays, film is one of the most important mediums of memory, with a significant influence on collective memory. At the same time film is subject to certain restrictions that often transfigure it more to a tabloid and, as a consequence, its use frequently leads to the tabloidization of collective memory. The use of camp as a tool allows (us? People? The viewer? we need a subject here) to perceive the dangers and pitfalls inherent in so transformed a collective memory. Moreover, camp enables exposure and deconstruction of myths and phantasms that govern the mechanisms of that collective memory and thereby may become a catalyst for change
