Exploring the Impact of Leadership on Encouraging Innovative Behaviours: An Employee’s Perspective: DOI: https://doi.org/10.33093/ijomfa.2025.6.2.14
Innovation is crucial in the current business environment amidst uncertainties and heightened competition. The study explored how employees perceive their leaders' behaviour regarding innovations in the service sector. An in-depth interview technique has been employed as part of a qualitative research approach to identifying leaders' behaviours likely to enhance or discourage employees' innovative behaviour. Eight participants with extensive experience in the service sector were selected from various sectors, including consultancy, financial services, and the telecommunications industry in Malaysia. Thematic analysis was used to identify leaders' behaviours that encourage or discourage employees' innovative behaviour at work. The study observed 15 different leader behaviours related to employees' innovative behaviour. Eight behaviours directly drive innovation, five behaviours are indirectly related, and two behaviours hinder employee innovation. The study found that employees' perceptions of innovative role modelling, empowerment, recognition, consultation, development, identifying innovation champions, and rewards positively influence innovation. In contrast, constant monitoring and high workload pressure are seen as obstacles to innovative behaviour. The study contributes to the existing literature by comparing the inventory of leaders' behaviours. It reveals that employees view Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) positively in terms of innovation, suggesting that further research could explore the magnitude and significance of CSR in various contexts. This study highlights the importance of organisational leaders gaining insight into their employees' perspectives to cultivate idea generation and implementation. When leaders understand their employees' attitudes towards creativity and innovation, they can adjust their leadership style and behaviour to foster a work environment that encourages creativity and innovation
Analysing the determinants of Vietnam’s FDI inflow
FDI has long been recognised for its positive impact on host countries, prompting economies, particularly those in the developing world, to dedicate significant efforts to crafting policies conducive to attracting FDI inflows. Vietnam stands out as a top performer within the ASEAN region, and it is known for its appeal to FDI. This study seeks to shed light on Vietnam's successful FDI attraction strategies, offering insights for similar endeavours. Utilising the ARDL approach and monthly data from 2010 to 2019, this study examines the determinants of FDI inflows in Vietnam. The analysis reveals that market size is the sole significant factor in both short-term and long-term estimations. However, in the short run, market size, trade openness, and inflation notably influence FDI inflows. These findings underscore the importance of enhancing the host nation’s competitive advantage to attract market-seeking and export-oriented FDI in the short term. However, the FDI landscape shifts towards market-seeking investments over time, particularly as the domestic market expands. This shift presents valuable guidance for policymakers in shaping long-term FDI-related strategies. By leveraging the benefits accrued from FDI, whether market-seeking or export-oriented, host nations can foster domestic market development, thereby sustaining FDI inflows in the long run. This development aligns with the growing global awareness of promoting societal equality, such as the SDGs. By fostering equality, purchasing power within the overall market is boosted, creating a more favorable environment for FDI
Online learning intention among students from private universities in Malaysia: The role of past behavior and students’ planned behavior
This study examines the determinants that affect the intention of Malaysian private university students to continue using online learning. The study utilized structural equation modelling analysis to examine the connections between variables, employing the partial least squares method. A total of 564 data were collected from students enrolled in private higher education institutions. The suitability of the variable dimensions was established through reliability analysis. Key findings revealed that students’ past online learning behavior significantly impacts their attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control towards online learning. Specifically, past behavior was positively correlated with attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Additionally, significant positive relationships were observed between attitude and online learning intention, subjective norms and online learning intention, and perceived behavioral control and online learning intention. The results showed that students with positive past behaviors tend to hold favorable attitudes and social support and are capable of succeeding in online learning environments
Delivering delight: the role of logistics service quality in customer satisfaction and repurchase intention in China
The retail industry often provides essential products for the use and consumption of customers. However, the logistics service quality (LSQ) of the retail industry may affect customer satisfaction (CS). This study explored the relationship between logistics service quality and customer satisfaction and further investigated whether customer satisfaction impacted repurchase intention (RI). This study utilized the stimulus-organism-response (SOR) framework to build the structure of the model and categorize the variables in generating the outcomes. Data were collected through an online questionnaire survey involving 311 customers from China who used the logistics service of IKEA and a total of 305 valid responses were received. Data analysis was performed using SPSS statistical software, and AMOS software was used to construct the empirical model of the study. This study found that perceived order accuracy, perceived order condition, perceived timeliness, and delivery cost have a positive impact on customer satisfaction, while customer satisfaction positively affects repurchase intention. This study provides insights and feasible information for the retail industry and logistics service providers in China
Model Based Implementation of Wireless Power Transfer System for Charging of E-Vehicles
The popularity of electric vehicles has been increasing day by day due to the effect of the pollution caused by the fossil fuels. In the present scenario the difficulty arising in the use of the electric based transportation is the unavailability of the charging stations. So wireless charging system have emerged as one of the solutions for charging of electricity based vehicles. Wireless based electric vehicles come with an opportunity of charging those vehicles that can have the priority of not having charging plugs. Wireless charging technology comes with an option of spark free operation, reliable and user friendly as compared to the plug charging option. This technology makes use of a common charger that can be used for all types of electric operated vehicles. Wireless power transfer technology requires design of inductive coils which involves proper selection of inductances values. A high frequency full bridge converter has to be tuned for wireless power transfer between the transmitter and receiver coils. This paper presents an effective way of charging electric vehicles that has been implemented in Matlab/Simulink simulations. Rigorous simulations were carried out and analysis were conducted to evaluate the system's performance.

Multiphase Flow Pattern Hydrodynamics of Carbon Dioxide and Water in Microchannel Reactor
The utilization of CO2 is crucial to convert waste into valuable products, such as fuels. Microchannel reactor technology has gained attention for CO2 utilization due to their higher interfacial area compared to traditional reactors. Understanding flow regimes is critical for optimizing mass transfer efficiency. Hence, this project aims to create a new flow pattern map for CO2 and water and investigate how gas bubble and liquid slug properties are affected by the change in superficial velocity. Thus, the interfacial area for each flow pattern can be observed which affects the mass transfer performance. The dimensions of flow pattern were measured, so the interfacial area could be calculated accordingly. The amount of CO2 absorbed into water was determined using the titration method. Then the liquid side mass transfer coefficient for slug flow was determined from the models proposed by van Baten and Krishna (2004). In the end, the rate of mass transfer was determined for slug flow. The results show that slug flow is formed at high gas-to-liquid ratio. Longer slug flow has higher interfacial area and more CO2 is absorbed through diffusion. A larger interfacial area contributes to higher mass transfer rate, so this proves that the microchannel is good for CO2 utilization process
The Legal Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in Transportation & Healthcare: Negligence under Malaysian and European Law
This paper explores the legal issues raised by the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in two key sectors: transportation and healthcare. It examines the historical development of AI and the emerging legal challenges surrounding AI technologies. As autonomous transportation evolves, this paper traces its roots from early automotive advancements to modern AI-powered vehicles, emphasising the legal implications. In healthcare, the adoption of AI in diagnostics and treatments raises questions regarding liability when mistakes occur. This paper delves into the issue of whether AI systems should be granted legal personhood, entitling rights and responsibilities akin to humans. It also discusses the complexity in the law of negligence, particularly determining the duty of care and breach of duty of care involving autonomous systems. This paper also justified that liability should rest with the human agents involved in the creation and deployment of AI technologies due to their lack of personhood and capacity for moral judgement. A qualitative research methodology has been adopted to undertake in-depth research on case laws and regulations made on civil liability involving AI. The findings underscore the necessity for the legal framework to adapt evolving AI landscape, ensuring accountability while fostering innovation in both transportation and healthcare sectors
Knowledge and awareness of corporate social responsibility in water projects in Narok, Kenya
This paper explored awareness and knowledge of CSR water initiatives in Narok, Kenya. It assessed stakeholder awareness and knowledge and aimed to identify gaps in CSR communication in water issues. A descriptive design was used, and data was collected from purposively selected key informants and focus group discussions (FGDs) across the vast county. The findings revealed limited awareness by individuals and beneficiary groups on corporate social responsibility activities through local community leaders, local media, interactions, and friends and acquaintances. Community members were not informed about CSR water project efforts and their impact, limited awareness of CSR in water issues, engagement, awareness and misconceptions about CSR goals, benefits, and stakeholder roles. The study concluded that there was low knowledge and awareness of community water projects in Narok. It recommended targeted awareness campaigns through social media, radio, and print media, educational programs, regular feedback for transparency and trust, sharing impact reports and success stories for project value and local partnerships for awareness, training and empowerment. Recognising active members, conducting thorough monitoring and evaluation, respecting customs and cultural values, and involving minority groups will enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of CSR community water projects
Exploring Cultural Diversity Awareness and Addressing Cultural Biases among Undergraduate Students in Online Learning Environments
The growing field of online education has developed within a cultural context rooted in many forms of inherent bias. Therefore, this mixed-methods study was conducted within a sociocultural theoretical framework. The population consisted of teachers and students from various backgrounds at some universities in Karachi. In qualitative research, twelve teachers from random universities were selected using a purposive sampling method. In quantitative research, the researchers used the simple random sampling method to select one hundred students. The researchers conducted interviews and surveys. The researchers analysed the quantitative data using the statistical analysis method in SPSS. The researchers manually analysed the qualitative data through thematic analysis. The study's findings show teachers encountered challenges and biases in synchronous and asynchronous online sessions. Cultural diversity is an important element and an anticipated norm in online learning environments. Teachers should develop cultural diversity awareness in students and use teaching strategies. This study also found that students aware of cultural diversity were satisfied with their online learning experience. The findings of this study add to the literature on online learning satisfaction and provide direction for solving problems related to online learning satisfaction
