Review on Accessibility of Scissors for the Left-handed and Ambidextrous, and People with Fine Motor Difficulties in the Digital Era
There had been efforts to provide single-handed tools for small-scale and one-time work, from the industrial to the modern age. This is notable in the case of scissors. The modern era provides more options to produce scissors that fit the individual. This is made possible through 3D printing and rapid prototyping. However, accommodating the exact personal preferences of users remains a persistent problem, especially for the left-handed and ambidextrous, or those who have problems with fine motor skills. The other alternative in the digital era is coaching and instructions that are available through digital platforms for the purpose of helping people practice fine motor skills in the use of scissors. However, like other tutoring methods, their outcomes depend on the individual ability of the learners.

Macroeconomic Determinants of Non-Performing Loans in Malaysia: DOI: https://doi.org/10.33093/ijomfa.2023.4.2.6
This study re-examines the macroeconomic variables those explaining the outstanding balance of non-performing loans (NPL) in Malaysia, namely interest rate, unemployment rate, output, and price level. It covers 11 financing sectors between commercial and Islamic banks, for examples, primary agriculture, electricity, gas and water supply, manufacturing, household sectors, and so on. The data covers monthly observations for the period 2019-2021. Given non-stationarity property in nature for the variables, the ordinary least square (OLS) estimator applies for the first-differenced variables. The empirical results show that higher output reduces overall NPL including of Islamic banks but is inelastic. The past NPL explains the recent outstanding balance. The macroeconomic variables explain the most for primary agriculture, construction, mining & quarrying, transport, storage & communication, and other sector. This study also provides some relevant policy implications
What motivated Malaysians in banking with the service provider in the post COVID-19 pandemic era?
The fierce competitive environment in Malaysian banking industry has pressured the service providers into focusing on the improvement of their customers loyalty.This study aims to examine the antecedents of customer satisfaction to promote customer loyalty. This study adapted SERVQUAL model to explain the influencing factors. Hundred and one valid and reliable responses were used for data analysis. The findings suggested positive relationships between tangibility, assurance, and empathy on customer satisfaction. The relationship between customer satisfaction and customer loyalty is significantly positive. Contrary to previous findings, responsiveness and reliability are not significant in explaining customer satisfaction. This study is one of the very few studies in Malaysia and Asia to propose effective measures to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty post COVID-19 pandemic era
Rights and the Proportionality of Punishments on Homosexual Relations in Malaysia
The protection of the human rights of LGBTQ+ people is a relatively new topic in international human rights law in this digital era. Over the years, in the context of sexual acts against the order of nature and emerging Islamic practice, engaging in homosexual behaviour is considered a crime punishable under the law, whereby people in the LGBTQ+ were being discriminated against and attacked by the community. Hence, with the calls for gender equality and human rights, this paper focuses on the debate about human rights in homosexual relations, which is gay or lesbian. The research methodology adopted is doctrinal legal research. This paper intends to examine the existence of equal rights given to the homosexual community, and the proportionality of punishments for homosexuality in Malaysia from the secular civil law and Islamic Law perspectives. Besides, a comparison is made between Malaysia and some other selected Asian countries from the psychological view and health conditions with recommendations to protect the rights of this group as a conclusion
The Assistance of Eye Blink Detection for Two- Factor Authentication
This paper discusses the implementation of a blink detection method using 68 facial markers and the eye aspect ratio (EAR) to provide strong protection for access systems. It investigates the importance of 68 facial markers and explores how to use eye landmarks to calculate the eye aspect ratio. Access systems, which should have good security measures and be difficult to decipher, are typically safeguarded by passwords or multi-factor verification, such as passwords combined with facial recognition. However, these methods have inherent weaknesses, including the risk of shoulder surfing with passwords and the potential to be deceived by fake face images with facial recognition. To address these issues, a two-factor authentication method by using password with eye blink recognition is proposed as an effective solution for access control. By incorporating real-time eye blinking action, the system can avoid the use of fake images and prevent shoulder spoofing. To demonstrate the practical application of eye blink detection for enhanced two-factor authentication, a web application called "Eblink" is introduced. Analysing Gamma Frequency Components in EEG Signals: A Comprehensive Extraction Approach
Gamma band activity is a high-frequency (30-100 Hz) oscillation of the electroencephalogram (EEG) that has been linked to a variety of cognitive processes including attention, memory and learning. However, extracting gamma band activity from EEG data can be challenging due to the relatively low signal-to-noise ratio of gamma band signals and the presence of other frequency bands such as beta and alpha. In this paper, we present a method for extracting gamma band activity from EEG data. We evaluated our method on a dataset of EEG data recorded from dyslexic patients. We found that our method was able to successfully extract gamma band activity from the EEG data. The extracted gamma band activity was significantly correlated with the subjects' performance on the visual attention task. Our results suggest that our method is an easy and straightforward approach for extracting gamma band activity from EEG data. This could be used to study the neural basis of cognitive processes in a variety of research settings
Noise Estimation for MRI Images with Revised Theory on Histograms of Second-order Derivatives
Previous research by the author in the use of histograms of second-order derivatives showed that the differences between pixels in MRI images can be determined without referring to the ground truth for the purpose of noise reduction. Yet, the results of the previous research also showed that the methodologies used could not prevent false positives and negatives. A technique has been developed to involve multiple conditions that utilize the statistics of the histograms and the circumstances of neighbours in the vicinity of a pixel. The confusion matrix for this method shows that the technique has marginal but consistent improvement across the noise levels that are tested, compared to prior methods.

Implementation Of The Best-Worst Method For Supplier Selection Of Products Transportation Service In A Pharmaceutical Company
Supplier selection is an important aspect that must be carried out properly to ensure that the company's supply chain can run well. PT. XZ is a pharmaceutical company that regularly require product transportation service from a dedicated supplier. Currently the supplier selection process in the company is a general process that can be applied for any supplier selection case yet does not have an adjustable criteria and weight to accommodate different evaluation standard for different case. The company prefer to simplify the selection process by neglecting the criteria selection and weight calculation. Numerous studies in the field of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) have delved into methods to enhance the supplier selection process and minimize errors. This research aims to assess supplier selection, identify relevant criteria, and incorporate the best-worst method to optimize the choice of the most suitable supplier for product transportation services. The best-worst method (BWM) is employed to assign weights to criteria by utilizing user preference ratings, resulting in a refined and accurate criterion weighting process. With the determined criteria, the alternatives are evaluated by individual assessment form. The evaluation score is normalized and multiplied by the weight with the respect of the specific criteria to find the final weighted score. The result is one of the logistic company’s scores is higher than the other alternatives which indicates that alternative is the best to be chosen.

Embracing the Corporate Governance and Whistleblowing in Malaysia: A Conceptual Review
Whistleblowing is an act of disclosing any wrongdoing or offence to the enforcement agency by an informer known as whistleblower, and this action would result in a conflict of interest for an individual, institution or society. Some may argue that whether it is appropriate for a whistleblower to reveal other people's mismanagement or someone’s disloyalty to the company that employed him or her. This research applied qualitative study to analyse numerous primary and secondary data sources via library-based research in order to investigate the concerns and difficulties that whistleblowers encounter, as well as the relevant laws that could protect their privacy and interest. Meanwhile, the law of whistleblowing from the selected countries had been examined and the use of the valuable Islamic concept of good corporate governance had been adopted too. In fact, many countries have enacted relevant legislation to recognise the significance of whistleblowing to promote good governance in various institutions. Whistleblowers in Malaysia are protected by the Whistleblower Protection Act 2010 ('WPA 2010') as one of the efforts to demonstrate Malaysia's commitment in reducing bribery and improper action in the institutions
Optimisation on the Hybridisation Ratio of Pulverised Fuel Ash and Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (PFA - GGBS) for the Fabrication of Geopolymer Mortar
The current cement industry has several environmental and social problems, including high greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, water consumption, and the generation of large quantities of waste. This matter has grown into a significant concern, and there is now a pressing requirement to substitute the conventional binding material in concrete, namely Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC). This paper presents the report on the hybridisation of two industrial by-products, namely pulverised fuel ash (PFA) and ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), to produce an alternative binder known as geopolymer. A set of 11 hybrid PFA-GGBS geopolymeric mortar mixes was created using the complete range of hybridisation ratios, along with different water-to-binder ratios. The freshly mixed hybrid PFA-GGBS geopolymeric mortar was put through a flow table test to examine the required water-to-binder ratio to achieve the targeted level of workability. Afterward, all the samples were allowed to cure at room temperature before undergoing a destructive test to measure their compressive strength. According to the study's findings, the highest compressive strength of 4.6 MPa was achieved with a PFA-GGBS hybridisation ratio of 60-40 in the geopolymeric mortar. However, when the content of GGBS exceeded 40 %, the compressive strength of the hybrid PFA-GGBS geopolymeric mortar produced tended to decrease. Additionally, as the replacement level of GGBS increased, the required water-to-binder ratio also increased to maintain the targeted level of workability, ranging between 0.31-0.41. The PFA-GGBS hybridisation ratios of 60/40, 50/50, 40/60, and 30/70 have shown promising properties to be further refined regarding their application in cementless concrete. Moreover, the study conducted to replace cement as a binder in concrete has the potential to make the construction industry more sustainable and reduce carbon emissions by utilising industrial waste ash that would need to be affordable, strong, durable, and widely available in order to be practical.
