    The Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction Between Organizational Learning and Job Performance: DOI: https://doi.org/10.33093/ijomfa.2024.5.2.12

    This study aims to find the impact of organizational learning on job performance among preparatory school teachers through the mediator role of job satisfaction. A survey was conducted at six preparatory schools in Heet City, Iraq. The study employed stratified random sampling to ensure a fair representation of samples from all six schools, and a questionnaire was used to collect the data. The results from 183 valid questionnaires were analyzed using Smart-PLS, indicating that organizational learning positively and significantly impacted a teacher’s performance. Moreover, job satisfaction also showed a significant positive effect on job performance. Additionally, organizational learning has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. The model indicated that job satisfaction mediated the relationship between organizational learning and job performance. This study enriched the body of knowledge in the context of Iraq. It contributed to the literature by examining the mediator role of job satisfaction in the relationship between organizational learning and job performance by focusing on schools as the samples. Practical implications suggest that schools could adopt various innovative approaches to increase job satisfaction among preparatory school teachers to increase job performance

    The effectiveness of microlearning approach from the perspectives of practicum teachers

    Over the past years, practicum teachers have been assigned to schools for their teaching practicum. Many of them tend to struggle with the reduced attention span of students due to online learning.     As such, microlearning has been seen to be the most recent method of teaching that could aid students to learn better. This research focuses on the interaction and relativity of microlearning with practicum teachers in the teaching and learning process. 8 groups of 20 students in each group were selected using a convenience sampling method, as the group of students were easily accessed by the researcher, and the practicum teachers acted as the data collectors for this research. The microlearning tool used to replace the traditional teaching method was a 3-minute video and images.. All selected students are in the same level of studies which is in Year 8. Majority of them have the same proficiency level which is upper intermediate. The results show that microlearning did help with their classroom management and students were able to practise their scaffolding skills in a more effective manner

    Based on data from the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI), the number of investors in the Indonesian stock market is increasing, indicating the popularity of stocks as an investment instrument. This study aims to examine the returns and risks of stocks in the optimal portfolio, compared to those not under the optimal portfolio, using the Single Index Model. Secondary data from the Bisnis-27 index were used for the analysis. The results show that returns differ significantly between stocks in the optimal portfolio and those that are not. However, these risks were found to be insignificant. The determination of the optimal portfolio in this study can be used as a reference by investors when making investment decisions

    Exploring the nexus of entrepreneurial potential and entrepreneurial mentoring among TVET programme students

    Malaysia government aims to foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem by launching The National Entrepreneurship Policy in 2019 to encourage TVET students to participate in entrepreneurship. TVET students are taught about business startups. This collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE) seeks to nurture student entrepreneurs as job creators. Issues such as salary discrimination, and competency gaps are often faced by TVET graduates. A total of 252 students from Vocational Colleges in Malaysia were selected using stratified sampling. The result found entrepreneurial students and entrepreneurial interaction have a relationship with entrepreneurial potential. Yet, no relationship was indicated between entrepreneurial potential and the entrepreneurial mentor. The study expands knowledge of TVET students' entrepreneurial potential and provides insights into entrepreneurial potential studies for Malaysian entrepreneurship academia. It also helps the public and private sectors create entrepreneurship mentoring programmes. The findings support the TVET institution's goal of becoming an entrepreneurial hub

    The influence of perceived institutional support and social competencies on online learning satisfaction: A private higher education student perspective

    COVID-19 pandemic has revolutionised higher education delivery through online learning. While it offers flexibility and accessibility, it also challenges social interaction and satisfaction. To address this challenge, this study adopted the Community of Inquiry framework as a valuable lens to investigate the relationship between perceived institutional support, social competencies with classmates and instructors, and online learning satisfaction. A quantitative approach was used to analyse and explore the proposed hypotheses through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling. Students with prior experience in online learning from private higher education institutions were approached as the respondents. A total of 419 samples were selected through purposive sampling. The results indicated a positive relationship between perceived institutional support and online learning satisfaction. Perceived institutional support is positively related to social competencies of classmates and instructors. The research found that social competencies with classmates and instructors significantly mediated the association between perceived institutional support and online learning satisfaction. The findings from the study have implications for educational institutions, instructors, and students

    A Short Review: Photocatalysis As An Alternative Method for POME Treatment

    The liquid waste produced due to palm oil processing is called palm oil mill effluent (POME). It is challenging to manage because of its high production and inadequate treatment. The discharge of raw POME into the environment will result in multiple detrimental effects and environmental pollution. This short review compares the conventional treatment methods in Malaysia, which are the ponding system for the treatment of POME and the open or closed digesting tank. These systems are unable to achieve the standards set by the Department of Environment (DOE) of Malaysia. Photocatalysts, which are well-known as catalysts in the decomposition of organic contaminants, are suggested as an alternative method for POME treatment. The viability of using photocatalytic technology to remediate POME waste is discussed in this short review. The advancement and improvement of the nanoparticle system for POME treatment are identified based on past studies. It is aimed at providing readers with a clear comparison of conventional POME treatment methods and information on photocatalysis as an alternative POME treatment method.     Effects of Infill Density and Printing Speed on The Tensile Behaviour of Fused Deposition Modelling 3D Printed PLA Specimens

    The mechanical properties such as tensile behavior of a 3D printed object can be influenced by various printing parameters, including printing temperature, orientation, infill density, and printing speed. This study focuses on investigating the effects of infill density and printing speed. Thirty dog-bone specimens were 3D printed using Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) technique with Polylactic Acid (PLA) filament. Three different infill density settings (40%, 60%, and 80%) and three printing speed settings (30 mm/s, 60 mm/s, and 90 mm/s) were used. Tensile tests were performed on each specimen using a Universal Testing Machine. The experimental results indicate a clear trend of tensile behaviour with infill density. Increasing the infill density leads to improved tensile behaviour in the specimen. The highest Young’s Modulus and ultimate tensile strength (UTS) were achieved at 541.67 MPa and 24.3 MPa, respectively, with an infill density of 80%. On the other hand, printing speed showed an inverse relationship with tensile behaviour. As the printing speed increased, the Young’s Modulus and UTS decreased. However, the effect of printing speed on the mechanical properties was not as significant as that of infill density. When increasing the printing speed from 30 mm/s to 90 mm/s, the UTS only decreased by 5.61%. In contrast, increasing the infill density from 40% to 80% resulted in a UTS increase of 35.23%.     Study on Cation-Exchange of Removal Metallic Ions at PPy/PVS Film

    Due to the presence of heavy metals in wastewater treatment and manufacturing water purification processes in industries, investigations into potential methods have been widely conducted. In this paper, we report the incorporation of cation-exchange for removing heavy metals from aqueous solutions. We further investigated the properties cation-exchange using potential step method on PPy/PVS film at titanium electrode. Satisfactory results have been obtained with the small scale of experimental. It was found that the PPy/PVS film is able to remove heavy metal ions such as copper, nickel, and cobalt at very low concentrations, less than or equal to 10 mg/L, reducing them to approximately 1 mg/L. The Leica Q500MC Image Processing and Analysis system displayed the uneven deposition of heavy metal ions on the surface of PPy/PVS. Furthermore, Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis (ESCA) demonstrated the deposition of heavy metals on the PPy/PVS film.     Intercultural Friendship Formation Through the Lens of Cosmopolitan Agency

    This article explores a group of international students' experiences on intercultural friendship formation in one British university in the UK through the lens of cosmopolitan agency (Kudo, 2023), which is an ecological perspective of meaningful interactions between international and home students. Under the context that internationalisation continues to be on the agenda of higher education in the UK, this article examines how international students form and develop friendships among themselves and with home students within constraints mainly on power and privilege. Semi-structured interviews with 22 international students were carried out: Nigeria, Cameroon, China, Myanmar, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan, as well as four British home students. Thematic analysis was used to explore their experiences in greater depth. The result indicated that the participating students demonstrated dynamic and discursive engagement with the four states of cosmopolitan agency, exhibiting specific manifestations of the agency relating to linguistic abilities, socioeconomic status, gender and religion
