DysScreen: A Mobile-Based Application for Screening of Dyslexia for Young Children
Early identification of dyslexia is crucial for timely intervention to mitigate the disorder\u27s impact on the affected individuals. Despite its prevalence, dyslexia often goes undetected, especially in its early stages, leading to various academic and psychological well-being issues. This paper presents the development and evaluation of DysScreen, a mobile-based application designed for screening dyslexia in children from 4 to 9 years old. The development involved a comprehensive project lifecycle, including planning, requirement gathering, design, and implementation. Essential requirements were identified through questionnaires and a review of the literature and the Paediatric Protocol, creating functional features such as multilingual support, screening test questions, and detailed result reports. The design was visualised using Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams to ensure clarity and precision in functionality. Findings from 30 respondents during user testing indicated that DysScreen holds significant potential to aid parents, guardians, and educators in the early detection of dyslexia among the target age group, providing valuable insight for early intervention. This work contributes to the field by offering a scalable and accessible solution to addressing a critical need in dyslexia screening
INCORPORATING THE PALERMO PROTOCOL ON ANTI-TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS LAW IN THAILAND
Trafficking in persons (TIP), is a severe violation of human dignity and rights. The Palermo Protocol brought the issue of TIP to the world’s attention and established a standard approach for state parties to address TIP, known as the “3Ps” model, which seeks to prosecute perpetrators, protect victims and prevent TIP. Despite Thailand passing the Anti Trafficking in Persons Act B.E.2551 (ATIPA 2008), the number of TIP cases is still rising. This article aims to discuss the Palermo Protocol, the ATIPA 2008, to examine whether the ATIPA 2008 complies with the Palermo Protocol and evaluate the implementation of the ATIPA 2008 by examining Thailand’s approach in the TIP Report 2024. The methodology used is a doctrinal legal method where both primary and secondary data sources are used and content analysis and analytically analysed. The paper presented the prevalence of TIP in Thailand and the Palermo Protocol and the ATIPA 2008 and evaluate the implementation of the ATIPA 2008. This study found that ATIPA 2008 complies with the Palermo Protocol. Among analysis are the problem of identifying labour trafficking, accommodations and interpreters, corruption, undergoing the MDT identification process, training on SOPs for identifying labour trafficking, understanding of trafficking, implementation of victim identification procedures, shelter stays with movement and communication restrictions, benefits and protection of workers, measuring work and rest hours, and identify forced labour cases. The authors found that despite legislative progress, weak enforcement significantly contributed to its ineffectiveness. Therefore, enforcement needs to be strengthened to address and eliminate the problem of TIP in Thailand

EXAMINING THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL SECURITY PROGRAMS ON MILITARY PERSONNEL AND VETERANS: A SCIENTOMETRIC AND SCOPING REVIEW
This study examines the role of social security programs in ensuring the well-being and economic stability of military personnel and veterans through a scientometric and scoping review approach. Using data from Scopus and Web of Science (WoS), an in-depth scientometric analysis was conducted to track publication trends, identify active countries and institutions, and analyze keyword co-occurrences. The top ten keywords identified are Social Security, Veterans, Military, Social Welfare, Disability, Military Spending, PTSD, Employment, Mental Health, and Social Policy. Additionally, the scoping review synthesized the literature to identify gaps and areas for further investigation. The findings suggest that increased military expenditure often results in lower economic growth and reduced social welfare, particularly in middle- and low-income countries, due to the diversion of resources from essential public services to military budgets. Conversely, social security programs such as those provided by the Providence VA Medical Center, have a positive impact on veterans\u27 well-being, illustrating the importance of comprehensive support systems in military settings. The review also emphasizes the influence of public attitudes towards military conflicts on government policies and the necessity for robust social security measures in the face of aging populations and socio-economic challenges. This study uniquely contributes to our understanding of social security programs in military settings by emphasizing the importance of notational analysis in examining the intricate relationships between social support, technological advancements, and mental health, highlighting the need for comprehensive, interdisciplinary approaches to enhance socio-economic security, mental well-being, and human capital development among military personnel
‘Memandangkan’ sebagai kata hubung dalam bahasa Melayu berdasarkan perspektif nahu preskriptif dan deskriptif: (‘Memandangkan’ as conjunction in Malay language from a prescriptive and descriptive grammar perspective)

ABSTRACT
The field of archaeology is closely related to excavation activities. Focussing on past writings, this article discusses the research and reports of bead finds in excavations carried out by archaeologists. In bead research, the earliest writings by Horace Bech paved the way for bead research in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Peter Francis (Jr) also contributed in writing about the study of glass beads in Malaysia. Bead reports by G.B. Gardner and Alastair Lamb also cannot be ignored in global bead research. Researching their reports provides an understanding of the actual state of the archaeological field in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. In their report, it was found that apart from determining the role of beads for a society and the method of dissemination, they faced problems in determining the method of manufacture and the type of excavated beads. Analysis of the manufacturing methods and types of beads bear importance on the development of the field of archaeology, yet are less debated among the local archaeological research community. Bead archaeology plays an important role in identifying other aspects such as socioeconomic, religious, and ritual importance in an area and community relations with other community areas. Therefore, this article emphasizes the investigation of the manufacturing methods and types of beads through the arguments of bead researchers in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
