Cultural heritage tourism plays a pivotal role in the preservation of both tangible and intangible heritage while contributing to regional socio-economic development. This study addresses the growing needs to evaluate the multidimensional value of cultural heritage amid rapid tourism expansion. The objective is to systematically review the development of cultural heritage tourism and examine contemporary methods used for heritage value assessment. Methodologically, this research adopts a literature review approach, analyzing domestic and international sources to explore qualitative and quantitative evaluation tools, including Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), factor analysis, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, the Travel Cost Method (TCM), and the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). Case analyses—particularly the Great Wall Cultural Heritage Corridor and its incorporation into China’s National Cultural Park framework—highlight the evolving practices of integrated conservation, digital engagement, and community participation. Findings reveal a predominance of economic and tangible asset valuation in current literature, with insufficient attention paid to socio-cultural dimensions such as collective memory, identity, and local participation. The paper concludes that sustainable cultural heritage tourism requires a more inclusive and community-centered governance model, alongside innovative strategies such as immersive digital technologies and cross-sector collaboration. This multidimensional and dynamic approach ensures heritage remains a living cultural asset while balancing conservation and development goals.

    No full text
Existing studies lack discussion on challenges in fostering Chinese children\u27s artistic creativity and offer no clear conclusions on AI\u27s impact. This study explores the challenges in cultivating children\u27s artistic creativity in primary schools in China and the impact of digital technology on this process. This study will be conducted through a systematic literature review and induction, current problems will be analysed, strategies will be proposed from a theoretical perspective, and future development trends will be analysed. The finding reveals that through a scoping review of 16 relevant studies, it was found that AI technology plays three leading roles in enhancing children\u27s artistic creativity: as a tool, tutor, and medium. AI as a tool helps generate creative ideas, as a tutor provides guidance and support, and as a medium facilitates learning and collaboration. The study highlights the significant role of AI in stimulating children\u27s interest and enhancing their artistic creativity while noting potential risks, such as increased cognitive load and copyright issues. The research concludes that while digital technology, especially AI, offers substantial benefits for children\u27s artistic creativity, its application requires careful consideration of pedagogical strategies and ethical issues. Future research should continue to explore the effective integration of AI in art education to enhance children\u27s creative abilities

    No full text
Collecting physical and digital items has become increasingly popular, but many collectors struggle with keeping their collections organised, accessible, and easy to manage. Traditional methods, such as manual record-keeping or essential digital tools, often fail to meet their needs. This study introduces HobbyHaven, a web-based repository designed to simplify collection management. The platform allows users to store, organise, and track their collectables more efficiently. The goal is to create a simple, intuitive, and customisable system, making it accessible to collectors of all experience levels. HobbyHaven was developed using the Waterfall methodology, which follows a structured approach that includes gathering user requirements, designing the system, and building a functional prototype. To evaluate its usability, we applied the Website Analysis and Measurement Inventory (WAMMI) framework, which assesses key factors such as attractiveness, ease of use, helpfulness, efficiency, and learnability. A total of 35 participants tested the system and provided feedback through a five-point Likert scale questionnaire. The results showed high user satisfaction, particularly with navigation (85.8%) and helpfulness (85.7%), indicating that users found the platform well-structured and easy to use; however, some areas required improvement. For instance, only 45.7% strongly agreed that the visual design was appealing. In comparison, 37.1% felt neutral about the need for better introductory guidance, and a further 37.1% agreed that some features were difficult to locate. HobbyHaven has the potential to significantly enhance collection management by providing an organised, user friendly, and accessible platform. Reducing reliance on outdated methods allows collectors to track and manage their items more effectively, fostering knowledge sharing and community engagement. Its open-access feature enables users to explore collections without requiring registration, making it more inclusive. With further improvements—such as AI-driven categorisation and integrated social networking features—HobbyHaven could evolve into a leading digital repository for collectors, transforming how collections are documented, shared, and preserved

DEMOGRAPHIC FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH HIV-RELATED KNOWLEDGE AMONG TRANSGENDER ADULT:  EVIDENCE FROM MALAYSIA

    No full text
The incidence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a major public health concern. Knowledge is a protective factor for the spread of HIV. However, there remains a lack of research exploring sociodemographic determinants of HIV knowledge among transgender adults. The objective of this study is to examine the influences of demographic factors on HIV-related knowledge based on a dataset of transgender adults. Cross-sectional data derived from the Integrated Biological and Behavioral Surveillance Survey (IBBS) 2017 (n = 888) were utilised. HIV-related knowledge was used as the outcome variable comprising three categories: poor, moderate and high knowledge. The independent impacts of age, income categories, education levels, ethnic groups and employment status on levels of HIV-related knowledge were assessed using ordered probit regression. Findings from this study revealed that a large proportion of transgender adults possessed high knowledge about HIV. Older transgender adults were more probable to possess high knowledge related to HIV compared to younger ones. The likelihood of acquiring poor knowledge surrounding HIV was lower in transgender adults earning incomes of Ringgit Malaysia (RM) ≥2000 per month compared to those making less than RM 499. Transgender adults had a higher likelihood of possessing high knowledge about HIV if they attained a tertiary academic qualification. Age, income and education are seen as key contributing factors of HIV-related knowledge in the transgender adult population. Particularly, transgender adults having poor HIV-related knowledge tend to be in younger age groups, be low-income earners and have a low educational background. Intervention measures aimed at safeguarding people from transmitting HIV should therefore pay special attention to transgender people’s demographic traits. The suggested policies include use of social apps to disseminate HIV-related information, improving accessibility of educational resources in low-income transgender people, and advertising the risk of HIV in the mass media

SAFEGUARDING PERSONAL DATA IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR: UNVEILING THE IMPACT OF THE NEW PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION ACT IN INDONESIA

    No full text
Personal data protection is a significant issue that has attracted public attention in recent years due to various personal data leaks, especially those held by public sector institutions. The issue prompted lawmakers to re-open the discussion of the Personal Data Protection Bill (PDP Bill), which was finally enacted in October 2022. An essential aspect addressed in the newly enacted PDP Act was data protection by public sector institutions in Indonesia. Several studies showed that the collection of personal data by these institutions is primarily mandatory. Therefore, this study examines the laws and regulations related to personal data protection by public sector institutions and the potential implementation challenges. The challenges include the tendency to “prioritise” sectoral regulations over the PDP Act and the potential to “over-utilise” and “over-interpret” data protection exemptions. The findings indicated that the newly enacted PDP Act provided excessive leeway for public institutions to exempt data subjects’ rights despite the high standard for data processing. The findings suggested that to achieve a meaningful implementation of the PDP Act, the mandated supervisory authority must be independent in carrying out its duties and functions to ensure the just enforcement of personal data protection in the public and private sectors. In addition, the government must develop a strategy to ensure the consistency of data protection implementation through various legislations currently being drafted, as well as harmonising the PDP Act with other related Acts

BALANCING ACT: HOW INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RISKS SHAPE WORKING CAPITAL DECISIONS IN MALAYSIA

    No full text
This paper examines how working capital investment decisions relate to various internal and external risks faced by Malaysian firms. The study employed fixed effects instrumental variable estimation to analyse cross-sectional panel data from 406 firms listed on the Malaysian Securities Exchange (Bursa Malaysia). The results confirmed the hypothesised relationships between the various risks firms face and their working capital investment decisions. These relationships were statistically significant at the 5% or 1% levels for all risks, except for credit risk. Additionally, the connection between economic growth and a firm’s market strength in relation to its working capital investment was not confirmed. The industry analysis indicates that firms in the basic materials sector were more sensitive to all measured risks than firms in other sectors. This research fills a gap in the emerging economies literature by examining how working capital investment decisions relate to internal and external risks for Malaysian firms. The findings may assist firms in making more informed decisions regarding their working capital investments. To date, this is the first study to examine the impact of a broad range of risks on working capital investment decisions for firms in an emerging economy
