ASWAJA MOBILIZATION AND INTOLERANCE: Sub-state ideology, religious vigilantism in Aceh, Indonesia

    Get PDF
This article examines the attack on a mosque in Samalanga, Aceh, Indonesia, by showing the relations between religious ideology, the state, and paramilitary groups. Intolerance studies in the Muslim world pay less attention to the ideology in the sectarian state, and its influence on attacking houses of worship. Using the state-parallel theory to look at the case of the attack on the Muhammadiyah Mosque in Samalanga, Aceh, this article argues that attacking the house of worship cannot be separated from state ideology. Based on the case study, data are collected by interviewing actors, such as the Aswaja group, staff government in Sangso, and Muhammadiyah members in Sangso. In the end, the article concluded that intolerance in the Muslim world can be seen from the parallel relation between religious ideology, state, and religious paramilitary

Business is basically a social practice. This makes success or failure in running a business not only determined by financial capital, but also determined by things broader than that. This condition also applies to the furniture business in Lhokseumawe City where UD Bripo managed to dominate while Dek Gam failed to compete. This study tries to uncover the facts of the furniture business with the same type of business, but in the furniture business UD Bripo succeeded in developing its business, on the other hand the Dek Gam furniture business failed to develop its business. Data collection is done by using ethnographic methods. The results of this study are that habitus and social capital have a significant role in supporting the success of the UD Bripo furniture business. Habitus owned by UD Bripo furniture business owners are brave, honest, focused, frugal, caring and leader-minded, and always thinks systems. While UD Bripo's successfully utilized social capital consists of norms, trust and network dimensions. The failure of the Dek Gam furniture business is due to the inaccurate application of habitus and social capital in the business arena Keywords: Habitus, Social Capital, Business, Norms, Trust, Networkin

Korespondensi " Electrical peak load forecasting using long short term memory and support vector machine

Abstract Electrical load forecasting is usually a univariate time series forecasting problem. In this case, we use the machine learning approach based on Long Short Term Memory and Support Vector Machine. Accurate the peak electric load forecasting. The time series or data set of the peak electric load recorded from the Substation system in Lhoksumewe, Indonesia. The main aim of this paper to predict and evaluate the performance of peak electric load at the substation for six months. The results obtained in the study, the LSTM and SVM are proving useful for peak electrical load forecasting. The resulting point both of machine learning technique based on LSTM and SVM are a possibility for analysis data for such purposes

A Model to Minimize Disagreement in Group Decisions with Consensus

    Get PDF
The group decision making (GDM) is a procedure where a chance is given for team members to impact a decision. Therefore, team members feel obligated to the decision that is made, such a decision-making procedure needs some degree of consensus. Decision making problems mainly involve discovering the best option from a feasible alternative set. We devise an integer program model for facing the difference between everyone’s preferences and the final solution. The consensus degree can be discovered to reveal how far a group of individuals is from maximum consensus. The model is created in order to minimize the disagreement of the consensus obtained

Searching the shortest route for distribution of LPG in Medan city using ant colony algorithm

Abstract. National energy needs and efforts to meet needs are currently the topic of issues to be discussed and resolved. One of the problems is LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) in the form of environmentally friendly petroleum gas products. Gas scarcity that occurs in each region is different where not all regions experience gas shortages, there are also areas that have excess LPG stock. Therefore, the application of the search route on the LPG base is very necessary. This application applies the ant colony algorithm search method to find the fastest route for the gas base location in the Medan Amplas district area. The Ant Colony algorithm looks for the best solution to solve a problem, in this case the Ant Colony algorithm is the algorithm most often used in mapping distribution locations. From the results of this research, the LPG distribution and distribution process uses an android based application

The operation of soil forming factors could simultaneously be formed into different or similar soil properties. Soil types are grouped based on the soil classification system. This research aims to study the soil chemical characteristics and soil development in several types of soil (The Indonesian Soil Classification System) in the Krueng Meueh sub-watershed. The research was conducted by using descriptive survey methods and based on the soil type map. In the study area, there were found five soil types, namely Alluvial, Latosol, Mediterranean, Brown Podsolic (BP) and Red Yellow Podsolic (RYP). In each soil type had one minipit, every a minipit consists are three layers (0-25, 25-50, 50-75 cm), and fifteen soil samples were taken from five minipits. The soil samples were air-dried and sieved 2 mm to analysis purpose of soil chemical properties in the laboratory. The results showed that value of pH H 2 O range 3.6-6.0, pH KCl 3.0-5.8, Organic-C 0.34-1.78%, exchangeable-Ca 6.7-8.9 cmol/kg, exchangeable-Mg 0.3-0.41 cmol/kg, exchangeable-K 0.16-0.62 cmol/kg,exchangeable-Na 0.12-0.15 cmol/kg, cation exchange capacity (CEC) 7.7-19.05 cmol/kg, base saturation (BS)42.26 – 98.25%, exchangeable-Al 0-9.2 cmol/kg, exchangeable-H 0.16–2.44 cmol/kg and aluminum saturation (Al-sat.) 0-48%. Based on the Ca/Mg ratio, ∆pH and CEC, RYP and BP were classified as further development soils. Statistically, there were a correlation inter-soil characteristic, soil pH was significantly negatively correlated with exchangeable-H, -Al and Al-sat., and significantly positively correlated with CEC, BS. Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) showed that the soil chemical characteristics were variated among inter-soil types, except the content of organic-C and exchangeable-K. Key words--soil chemical properties, soil forming processes, soil types, weathering degree
