The business landscape has always been dynamic, challenging entrepreneurs to adapt and innovate in order to sustain and enhance performance. Despite the growing body of literature on entrepreneurship training and orientation, empirical evidence on their combined influence on business performance, particularly among 'asnafpreneurs,' is scant. This study aims to bridge this gap by investigating the impact of entrepreneurship training and entrepreneurship orientation on the business performance of selected asnafpreneurs. Utilizing a quantitative research approach, data were collected from 100 'asnafpreneurs' through structured questionnaires. Multiple regression analysis was employed to analyze the relationships among the variables. The study's independent variables were entrepreneurship training and entrepreneurship orientation, while the dependent variable was business performance. The results indicate a significant positive relationship between entrepreneurship training and business performance. Additionally, entrepreneurship orientation was also found to contribute positively to business performance. These findings suggest that both training and orientation are critical factors that can significantly improve the performance metrics of businesses led by asnafpreneurs. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers, academicians, and practitioners interested in enhancing entrepreneurial success rates, particularly in the asnafpreneur sector. Get PDF
Curriculum evaluation is an integral part of the educational process. Most curricula in Pakistan have often remained static for extended periods, hindering progress. Limited research has been conducted on the process of curriculum development in Pakistan in general and the higher secondary Education curriculum in particular. The current study aimed to fill this gap by evaluating the existing higher secondary Education curriculum in Pakistan using the CIPP (context, input, process, and product) evaluation model developed by Stufflebeam (1971). The purpose of this evaluation was to identify possible strengths and weaknesses of the Education curriculum in order to make necessary improvements. The population for the study consisted of teachers and students of the Education subject at the higher secondary level. A sequential explanatory mixed methods study was designed. Total population sampling was used to select the teachers, while simple random sampling technique was used for selecting the students. Data was collected through questionnaires and interviews. Descriptive statistics for quantitative data and thematic analysis for qualitative data was applied. The findings show that the textbook was the sole source of the subject content and there did not seem alignment between the curriculum and the textbook. This study found considerable inverse correlation among context, input, process and product as input is not according to the designed context, process is not effective that follows only theoretical traditional pedagogies and the learning outcomes do not fulfil the need of introducing this subject and moreover a gap of knowledge and implementation. This study has implications for bridging the gaps from planning to necessary revisions and improvements in the elements of Education curriculum. By working together, all the stakeholders can design a high quality Education curriculum that prepares students for choosing the teacher education, developing higher-order thinking skills, moving beyond rote memorization, emphasizing deeper learning, development of psychomotor skills and students’ growth for problem solving skills to face the challenges for success in the 21st century

    Get PDF
This study highlights the critical role of IT systems in businesses and the challenges associated with managing IT risk. Companies invest substantial resources to ensure uninterrupted operations and avoid service disruptions. IT Disaster Recovery Plans (ITDRP) are essential for outlining a company's response to disruptive events, and their effectiveness is influenced by the plan's acceptance and perception within the company. Seamless availability of modern IT systems is crucial to prevent financial losses and missed revenue opportunities. Creating a disaster recovery plan is essential but can be challenging due to factors like lack of understanding, resources, and knowledge about potential obstacles. Investigating the acceptance of a recovery plan is crucial, particularly for successful recoveries. The study's main objectives include evaluating Cloud-based disaster recovery services, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Business Continuity Management (BCM) processes, and assessing the model with the introduction of mediating and moderating factors. The research design follows the UTAUT model and employs quantitative methods, utilizing cross-sectional surveys to gather data from a specific target population at a given time. Purposive sampling is used to select participants with specific traits or knowledge for valuable insights, and data analysis from 100 respondents is conducted using SmartPLS 3.0. The various determinants, such as Performance Expectancy (PE), Social Influence (SI), Facilitating Conditions (FC), Behavioural Intention (BI), and Trust (TR), that impact the acceptance of an ITDRP were studied. Integration of Cloud-based recovery services and AI into BCM processes enhances ITDRP effectiveness. Trust, mediated through intermediaries, also plays a crucial role in shaping stakeholder perception and acceptance of the plan. Ultimately, an effective plan that is user-friendly, endorsed by key individuals, supported by proper infrastructure, and trusted by stakeholders generates enthusiasm for its use. The research introduced a new variable, Trust, offering a fresh perspective on stakeholder responses to disaster recovery plans. Practical guidance is provided for companies, emphasizing the importance of trust in ensuring plan acceptance and implementation. This study has significant implications for both theory and practice in disaster recovery planning for IT systems
