WSU Organic Farm Newsletter, July 15, 2020
Farm News, July 15, 2020: The first field carrots came in yesterday and we had a big day with root washer; cleaning, packing, and getting in the cooler. We planted much more carrots this year, as well as beets, and will be able to handle more bulk orders than in the past. The trusty root washer is a key tool in getting carrots and beets washed quickly for larger harvests. The students are getting trained in the efficiencies of tools that really add a step up in the processing. The greenhouse tomatoes are done for now so we're taking a week off. Hopefully the hoophouse plants will get farther along with the steady sun and begin to ripen. Stay tuned..
