L‘espace dans l‘écriture biographique de Roger Laporte
This article allows to discover the writing biography of Roger Laporte, in particular its link with the space which shows its development. This very particular kind of writing is experienced only during the act of writing and its journey is realized in the book. This is the place where the writer can come back to the link between his being as a writer and the human being whom he has encountered all along the way. This reveals a process of spatialization of writing through the book, in particular the insertion of the reader, the reaction of the writer to this complete whole that he does not dominate and the relationship between them that takes place there.Cet article permet de découvrir l\u27écriture biographique de Roger Laporte, notamment son lien avec l\u27espace qui en montre le développement. The efficacy and toxicity of dexrazoxane use in children with cancer: A population-based study from Maritimes, Canada
Anthracycline induced cardiotoxicity is a well-recognized complication in pediatric oncology. The use of the cardio-protective drug dexrazoxane has gained traction despite its unclear efficacy and toxicity. A retrospective, population-based study was completed using chart and database information on children treated with anthracycline at the IWK Health Centre from 2009-2015 (n=178). The efficacy of dexrazoxane was defined as a lack of undesirable deviations in identified cardiac parameters on echocardiogram. Toxicity of dexrazoxane was defined as chemotherapy delays from any of decreased absolute neutrophil count (ANC), decreased platelets, increase in viral/bacterial episodes and febrile neutropenia (FN) episodes. Patients were stratified into groups based on the total amount of anthracycline received and whether they received dexrazoxane. Regardless of anthracycline dose, we found no significant relationships regarding cardiac function in the untreated and dexrazoxane treated groups. However, we found that patients who were treated with >250mg/m2 of anthracycline and received dexrazoxane experienced significantly more platelet delays but no cardiac benefit (p=0.007). When classified by diagnosis, we also found that dexrazoxane treated patients diagnosed with low-risk acute lymphocytic leukemia (LR-ALL) were likely to experience a delay in treatment due to both low ANC (p=0.0001) and the development of FN (p=0.02) whereas high-risk acute lymphocytic leukemia (HR-ALL) patients were likely to experience treatment delays due to thrombocytopenia (p=0.03), low ANC (p=0.0001) and FN (p=0.0001). Despite finding no significant differences regarding the efficacy of dexrazoxane as a cardio-protectant, we have shown that its use induces non-cardiac toxicities in children with cancer that contribute to treatment delays
"There\u27s no way I\u27m gonna meet their expectations":: Gender Role Attitudes and the Lived Experiences of Japanese Expatriates and Diaspora in the United States
The persistent nature of patriarchal gender norms in Japan is well-known globally despite the nation’s commitment to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, one of which includes gender equality. This paper seeks to introduce and explore the personal narratives of Japanese expatriate women and youth diaspora in the United States to understand how they perceive gender roles in Japanese society and culture. Over the course of two months in 2021, bilingual open-ended interviews were conducted with ethnic Japanese expatriates and diaspora residing primarily in the Mid-Atlantic United States. Utilizing attitude development theories and existing research on cultural identity, this study provides a new look at the intersections between gender roles, migration, and what it means to accept—or reject—identity. New avenues of research are recommended to further discussions of gender norms, culture, and community by including the lived experiences of historically underrepresented populations
Préjudice moral - Un aperçu des contextes nuisibles et préjudiciables
Moral Injury is a concept developing in psychology literature to review the impact of war on veterans and has especially focused on individual symptoms and finding clear diagnosis tools. This paper explores the connection between moral injury and the context in which they occur, a relationship that provides valuable understanding about the experience, but also the systemic factors that increase the vulnerability. The article begins by setting the groundwork for the discussion and introducing moral injury and its associate concepts. Part two explores the institutional dimension of moral injury and how an individual\u27s professions can contribute to the injury. Part three proposes how moral injury insights can be implemented as guiding principles within peace and security, and particularly in peacekeeping missions. The final conclusion points to the context and the institutional system as the frame where personal reaction, values and systemic influences combine to produce moral injury. Therefore, looking for solutions to prevent and treat moral injury must acknowledge the true roots causes of distress that is not part of individualistic pathologizing mental health diagnosis.

Colliding Identities and the Act of Creating Spaces of Belonging in the Occupational Therapy Profession
Introduction. Despite numerous initiatives to recruit a more diverse health professional workforce, those entering the health professions from marginalized groups experience significant barriers to inclusion. The occupational therapy (OT) profession is no exception. The profession, despite language of inclusion, is heavily influenced by colonialism and ableism, and positions itself largely under a Western world view. Literature points to OT students and clinicians from marginalized groups experiencing discrimination and racism, alienation, and internal conflicts between their own sense of identity and that which is expected in the OT profession. Lack of belonging can be a major barrier to success and fulfillment for those wishing to enter the profession. Objective. To highlight the invisible work done by those from marginalized groups to create spaces of belonging in the OT profession, through telling personal stories. Key Issues. Feelings of personal and professional belonging deeply impact the ways diverse OT students and clinicians engage meaningfully with themselves and their communities. Given the profession is currently aiming to identify its largely uninterrogated Western underpinnings, we must listen and learn from and with those from marginalized groups to create systemic, meaningful change. Implications. Creating community and supports within the profession in the context of a marginalized identity takes a significant amount of time and robust mentorship. We must begin to highlight this additional “invisible” work to create systemic changes and solutions and ease the burden for diverse peoples entering the profession
Theoretical Approaches to Disrupting Historical Trauma Among Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQ+ Elders
Introduction: Indigenous holistic theory (IHT) is a multi-faceted framework grounded in traditional cultural knowledge that emphasizes Indigenous world views, cultures, and traditions with a focus on the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical elements of health and wellness (Absolon, 2010). Objective: To describe the role of historical trauma and health-related behaviours among Two-Spirit and Indigenous lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer or questioning (2S/LGBTQ+) Elders and how the emergence of IHT and its guiding constructs could work to inform culturally responsive interventions for the study population. Method: IHT constructs were applied to historical trauma intervention tailoring among Indigenous 2S/LGBTQ+ Elders, including a relevant theoretical model. Results: Applying the IHT framework to Indigenous 2S/LGBTQ+ Elder interventions could be an effective pathway for understanding the population while helping to inform more culturally responsive health promotion efforts that will lead to wellness in later life. Discussion/Conclusion: The paper concludes with a discussion of how IHT helps to advance our knowledge about addressing historical trauma most responsively, along with future research recommendations.

Implementation and Evaluation of the Eat, Sleep, Console Model of Care for Babies Diagnosed with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome: A Scoping Review Protocol
Introduction: Infants diagnosed with neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) or neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome (NOWS) constitute a growing population in Canada. In most facilities, an outdated model of care is used to guide the care and assessment of babies diagnosed with NAS. Challenges with this outdated model have prompted the transition to a novel approach to care, the Eat, Sleep, Console model. Despite this promising intervention to improve patient and health system outcomes, little is known on how to effectively implement and evaluate the model in clinical practice. Objectives: We will conduct a scoping review to address the question, “How has the Eat, Sleep, Console model been implemented and evaluated in practice?”. Methods: We will follow the JBI methodology for scoping reviews and Arksey and O’Malley’s scoping review framework. Reporting will follow the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR). Published and unpublished literature will be included in the review. The following databases and grey literature will be searched: MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, PsycInfo, Google Scholar, and websites identified in a Google website search. Two independent reviewers will screen literature and extract data based on predetermined eligibility criteria and data extraction tools. We will narratively describe quantitative data, along with completing an inductive thematic analysis of qualitative findings. Furthermore, we will conduct a directed content analysis of qualitative findings using the COM-B model of behaviour and RE-AIM (reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, and maintenance) framework. We anticipate findings will be used to support future implementation of the Eat, Sleep, Console model into clinical practice, including subsequent evaluation of implementation
