Full text linkThe present outline is an attempt to describe the changes which occurred in the Polish and Czech address system following 1989. In the centre of attention there are standard, professional and functional terms of address and also their combinations with a name and surname. The author defines the factors influencing the Polish and Czech address system. Among them, he discerns not only the political and economic ones but also points to the historical, cultural and moral conditions.
