On Fuzzy Henstock-Kurzweil-Stieltjes-♦-Double Integral on Time scales
We introduce and study some properties of fuzzy Henstock-Kurzweil-Stietljes--double integral on time scales. Also, we state and prove the uniform convergence theorem, monotone convergence theorem and dominated convergence theorem for the fuzzy Henstock-Kurzweil Stieltjes--double integrable functions on time scales
On the Legacy of Translation Theories from the 1950s and 1960s: A Critical Review: A Critical Review
Translation theories which bloomed in the 1950s and the 1960s have inspired numerous debates on multiple contexts of theory and praxis. With the increase of specialized journals and publishing houses of the past few decades, the professional literature has gone in so many directions –with supporters and opponents alike— that it is often hard to strike a balanced view of the contributions of these theories to current translation studies. In an attempt to fill this gap, this theoretical review article examines a corpus of scholarly publications which have taken place mainly between 2002 and 2018 about the translation theories proposed in the 1950s and 1960s. To such end, a body of works focusing on the seminal works of Vinay and Darbelnet (1958), Jakobson (1959), Nida (1964a), Catford (1965), and Nida and Taber (1969) are reviewed to infer their degree of applicability to current translation-based discussions and praxis. Findings suggest that the authors exerting the greatest influence on contemporary discussions of translation studies seem to be Vinay and Darbelnet, followed by Nida and Taber, and then by Jakobson and Catford. They also indicate that the degree to which the translation theories under question are obsolete (or not) is hard to determine with accuracy. It remains unclear whether the bulk of publications which these theoreticians inspire is the product of acceptance or rejection of the assumptions contained in their postulates.
RAPID-INTEGRATED NEMOV6 HANDOFF IN IEEE802.16E BWA NETWORKS
NEMO basic support protocol was created by IETF NEMO working group to extend basic end-host mobility support in, Mobile IP (MIP) protocol to provide network mobility support. However, the handover latency in this scheme is high, and not suitable for multimedia and real time applications. Many techniques have been proposed to solve this problem by parallelizing the dual layers handover and assigning the network layer handover part to the serving Mobile Router (PAR) or to the Home Agent (HA). These techniques either not fully parallelized or its advantages will be lost if the distance between the Mobile Router and its HA is so long. In this paper, we propose a new technique called Rapid-Integrated NEMO Handover (RINEMO) that keep its advantage whatever the distance between the MR and its HA and present a better parallelizing between the link layer and the network layer handover steps. Analytical results comparing the techniques are provided, showing that our technique have the lowest handover latency and lowest disruption time
Numerical solution for multi-term fractional delay differential equations
In this paper, a multi-term nonlinear delay differential equation (DDE) of arbitrary order is studied.Adomian decomposition method (ADM) is used to solve these types of equations. Then the existence andstability of a unique solution will be proved. Convergence analysis of ADM is discussed. Moreover, themaximum absolute truncated error of Adomian’s series solution is estimated. The stability of the solutionis also discussed
Social Media and Fake News in Nigeria: A Speech Act Analysis of WhatsApp Messages on Coronavirus
The evolution of social media has opened a new vista in digital communication across the world, Nigeria inclusive. Since the confirmation of the index case of Coronavirus in Nigeria, a lot of news on the subject which are largely considered by the World Health Organization to be false, had gone viral on the social media space. This study essentially examines some of those messages on WhatsApp that were circulated across Nigeria. Five WhatsApp messages collected between March – June, 2020 were analysed using the framework of Austin’s Speech Acts with insights from the Conversational Maxims of Grice’s Cooperative Principles. The main objective of this analysis is to unravel the communicative effects of language. Findings show that the writers of those WhatsApp messages carefully manipulate some linguistic features to make such messages perform some illocutionary acts as well as trigger some perlocutionary moves in the minds of the readers. This buttresses the fact that language is used to achieve both linguistic and non linguistic aims
Pragmeme of Waka Chants in selected Fidāʼu
The paper examined the discursive structure of waka chants as performed by Islamic clerics among the Yoruba Muslims at the event of fidāʼu. This attempt considers waka chants as pragmeme, with particular attention on the language and extra-linguistic cues deployed within the chants, and how the entire situational contexts which condition the waka chants regiment the language use. Eight documented waka chants in honour of some deceased Muslims in South-western Nigeria were sampled. The waka chants which were mainly in the Yoruba language as rendered by Muslim clerics were transcribed and translated to English language for the purpose of analysis. With insights from Mey’s theory of pragmeme, the paper ascertained that waka chants at the event of fidāʼu possess inherent pragmatic forces beyond their invocation to elucidate sermons and lives of a deceased Muslim. Such chants, this paper argues, perform socio-religious actions which are of immense benefits to the living
Effect of quarantine and vaccination in a pandemic situation: a mathematical modelling approach
When a pandemic occurs, it can cost fatal damages to human life. Therefore, it is important to understand the dynamics of a global pandemic in order to find a way of prevention. This paper contains an empirical study regarding the dynamics of the current COVID-19 pandemic. We have formulated a dynamic model of COVID-19 pandemic by subdividing the total population into six different classes namely susceptible, asymptomatic, infected, recovered, quarantined, and vaccinated. The basic reproduction number corresponding to our model has been determined. Moreover, sensitivity analysis has been conducted to find the most important parameters which can be crucial in preventing the outbreak. Numerical simulations have been made to visualize the movement of population in different classes and specifically to see the effect of quarantine and vaccination processes. The findings from our model reveal that both vaccination and quarantine are important to curtail the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. The present study can be effective in public health sectors for minimizing the burden of any pandemic
Some Integral Inequalities Involving Exponential Type Convex Functions and Applications
In this present case, we focus and explore the idea of a new family of convex function namely exponentialtype m–convex functions. To support this newly introduced idea, we elaborate some of its nice algebraicproperties. Employing this, we investigate the novel version of Hermite–Hadamard type integral inequality.Furthermore, to enhance the paper, we present several new refinements of Hermite–Hadamard (H−H) inequality.Further, in the manner of this newly introduced idea, we investigate some applications of specialmeans. These new results yield us some generalizations of the prior results in the literature. We believe, themethodology investigated in this paper will further inspire intrigued researchers
Speaking and Writing Interconnections: A Systematic Review
Drawing on previous studies on the relationship between speaking and writing modalities, this paper provides a critical synthesis of theoretical and empirical research on the interconnections between the two versions. Along with this, this systematic review shows that research on the issue at hand has been classified under three main categories: a) speaking effect on writing; b) writing effect on speaking, and c) correlation between speaking and writing. While experimental research has emphasized the impact of speaking and writing on each other, correlational endeavors have been much concerned with the symmetrical, reciprocal, and predictive connections between these two interrelated domains. Overall, the current review suggests that learning a second or foreign language could be enhanced by complementing speaking tasks by writing ones and vice versa. In this case, speaking could be taught along with writing to allow students to transfer their skillfulness from one to the other
Factors Affecting the Application of Communicative Language Teaching CLT in Syrian Schools
The main purpose of CLT is to help EFL learners to communicate with other Englishlanguage speakers. Practicing speaking and communication is limited in Syrian educationalinstitutions. Hence, to improve the communicative skills of learners, the CLT approach of the teachinglearning process is highly recommended. The study aims to identify the challenges that negatively affect the valid application of CLT in Syrian public schools in Aleppo governance. The study employed a fully quantitative research design. A survey questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument. A number of 50 English language teachers from 25 schools were randomly selected. The collected data were analysed descriptively using SPSS (25) software. Teachers despite their awareness of the importance of CLT, faced many challenges. The results showed four types of challenges namely; teachers-related challenges: lack of training, lack of authentic materials, lack of English cultural knowledge. Students related challenges: low proficiency, passive learning style, lack of motivation. Education system-related challenges: lack of support, too large classes, unsuitable curriculum. Finally, CLT related challenges: lack of effective and efficient assessment instrument, lack of teaching materials. The study provided a comprehensive approach towards better implementation of CLT in the EFL context. Implications and recommendations were discussed in light of the findings
