Engagement and Satisfaction of Senior High School Teachers and Students during the Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT)
This quantitative study aims to determine teachers' and students' perceptions of engagement and satisfaction during the emergency remote teaching (ERT), together with the significant differences of the variables on the teachers' profiles. Participated by 147 and 409 senior high school teachers and students in a comprehensive Catholic university, it was revealed that the respondents have positively engaged in different virtual lessons and activities. This affirmative participation also gives way to construct online satisfaction among teachers despite few identified circumstances like the students' poor confidence in their learning, the benefits of online teaching and instructional materials, and school authorities' support. Still, teachers' and students' engagement and satisfaction remain different, while teachers' profiles like strand and year in service appear significant to teachers’ satisfaction while age and educational attainment appear significant for both teachers’ engagement and satisfaction. Results further prove that the quality of engagement in a virtual learning environment remains a significant academic issue during the COVID-19 pandemic to achieve pedagogical and learning success. Hence, similar studies on engagement and satisfaction on virtual learning may be conducted using comprehensive tools and methods for a different set of respondents to assess quality instructions and to achieve learning equity
A Common Coincidence of Fixed Point for Generalized Caristi Fixed Point Theorem
In this paper, the interpolative Caristi type weakly compatible contractive in a complete metric space is applied to show some common fixed points results related to such mappings. Our application shows that the function which is used to prove the obtained results is a bounded map. An example is provided to show the useability of the acquired results
Enhancement of heat and mass transfer of a physical model using Generalized Caputo fractional derivative of variable order and modified Laplace transform method
In this paper, we use a model of non-Newtonian second grade fluid which having three partial differentialequations of momentum, heat and mass transfer with initial condition and boundary condition. Wedevelop the modified Laplace transform of this model with fractional order generalized Caputo fractional operator. We find out the solutions for temperature, concentration and velocity fields by using modified Laplacetransform and investigated the impact of the order α and ρ on temperature, concentration and velocity fieldsrespectively. From the graphical results, we have seen that both the α and ρ have reverse effect on the fluidflow properties. In consequence, it is observed that flow properties of present model can be enhanced nearthe plate for smaller and larger values of ρ. Furthermore, we have compared the present results with theexisting literature for the validation and found that they are in good agreement
Uniqueness of continuous solution to -Hilfer fractional hybrid integro-difference equation of variable order
In this paper, the authors introduced a novel definition based on Hilfer fractional derivative, which name -Hilfer fractional derivative of variable order. And the uniqueness of solution to -Hilfer fractional hybrid integro-difference equation of variable order of the form \eqref{eq:varorderfrac} with 0 < \alpha(t) < 1, , and 0 < q < 1 is studied. Moreover, an example is provided to demonstrate the result
A Note on Morphophonological Changes of Fulfulde Verb Suffixes
This paper attempts to analyse the changes of Fulfulde verb suffixes, with particular attention to Adamawa Dialect. The aim of the paper is to analyse verb suffixes to identify the nature of the changes and the conditions that trigger them. The study employed unstructured observation to collect the data and oral interview was used to validate them. Generative Phonology (GP) was adopted as the theoretical framework for data analysis in the study. The study reveals that both phonology and morphology interact in the process of changes that occur within the verb suffixes in Fulfulde. It shows that each voice has a single underlying suffix, which interacts with various tense suffixes to derive a complete verbal complex. Considering the various environments that have different suffixes with common characteristics across the three voices, the changes are found to be triggered by certain rule-based conditions
Students’ Perception Towards Flipped Classroom Approach in The Islamic And Asian Civilisation Studies (Titas)
Flipped classroom is an active, student-centered approach that has been developed to enhance the quality of time in the classroom. This study investigates the perceptions of third year Bachelor in Teaching English as a Second Language (BTESL) and Bachelor in Accounting (BIA) students in a Higher Education Institute, Malaysia. It aims to examine the students’ perceptions towards the use of flipped classroom approach in Islamic Civilisation and Asian Civilisation subject (TITAS) and to identify whether there is any significant difference between the perceptions of two groups of students with different educational backgrounds. This study involves 124 respondents consisting of 82 (66.1%) third year BTESL students and 42 (33.9%) BIA third year students. It adopted a quantitative research design using a survey method for data collection. The questionnaire was adapted from previous studies as the instrument for this study. Data were analysed through SPSS software and were interpreted through descriptive analysis and an Independent sample T-test. The findings show the majority of BTESL and BIA students perceived the usefulness of flipped classroom implementation in TITAS class positively. However, the study findings also revealed that there is no significant difference between the perceptions of BTESL and BIA students. Consequently, the outcomes were inferred that students perceived flipped classroom approach in TITAS class to be useful and there is no significant difference between the perceptions of the two groups of students with different educational backgrounds
The Position of the Subjectness of the Subject-less Conventional Infinitives
The English conventional infinitive clauses have either overt or covert subjects. Previous analyses mainly used the PRO Theorem and Null-Case Approaches to show the distribution of the subjectness of the subject-less conventional infinitives. However, this paper investigated the position of the subjectness of the subject-less conventional infinitive clauses using the Minimalist Program’s Movement Theory of Control and the External Token Merge. In this qualitative paper, data was extracted from the previous English Ph.D. research studies conducted by English native and non-native speakers, and analysed using successive approximation analytic tools. The results demonstrate that the control and SSR-infinitives are generated in a similar fashion, which is why they share the type of subjectness. The base-generated PRO, which is claimed to be the subjectness of the control infinitives, is further revealed that is derived from movement. Therefore, for uniformity purposes, the subjectness of the control and SSR-infinitives is found to be a trace-copy (t) or a lexical subject positioned at the [spec-IP], [spec-TP], and [spec-vP]. The analysis suggested connectivity between the structure of the subject-less conventional infinitive clause and the position of the subjectness of the subject-less conventional infinitives as the structure of the subject-less conventional infinitives informs the distribution
Providing a Critical Appraisal of the Persian Translation of Coelho’s the Devil and Miss Prym On the Basis of House’s Revised Model of Trancism
Trancism reassures the readers of the translation quality and helps the translator learn from his/her mistakes to avoid them in future works. Thus, the present study made a comparison between Coelho’s (2000) the Devil and Miss Prym and its Persian translation produced by Hejazi (2001) according to House’s (2015) functional-pragmatic model of trancism to investigate the translation type, overt translation or covert translation, evaluate the quality of the translation, and examine the appropriateness of House’s model to trancism. Moreover, it attempted to probe the effectiveness of educational degree in the translator’s achievement. According to the results, the translation the translator produced was a covert type of translation and not of high quality due to various types of overt erroneous errors. House’s model was also not applicable to trancism due to its insufficiency to achieve a complete objective judgment of the translation quality. The results also indicated a beneficial effect educational degree in Translation Studies had on the translator’s success that the translator of the novel under investigation did not enjoy it
Insights into COVID-19 Chemotherapies: Potential and Challenges
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a newly emerged infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus, has recently become pandemic. Although several therapeutic options are currently available for the treatment of COVID-19, no effective antiviral agents have been developed yet. Many countries follow the strategy of keeping the patient in good state and count on his own immune system to develop an effective immune response. Since the beginning of the pandemic, many previous therapeutic options have been used in COVID-19 treatment including antiviral, non-antiviral drugs and convalescent plasma-based therapies. This review delivers comprehensive illustration of the current therapeutic drugs that have been used for COVID-19 treatment all over the world since the pandemic starts
Water Extract of Dragon Fruit Peel Catalyzed Synthesis of Dihydropyridines By Hantzsch Condensation
Nowadays, natural substances are increasingly used in organic synthesis for their safety aspects towards the environment. That is why we identified a natural substance through which it promoted the organic reaction, and it could be sustainable and from plant sources obtained, and through this natural substance, it promotes the synthesis of dihydropyridine and its derivatives under solvent-free conditions. We have resorted to this method, being economical, free of minerals and solvents, to create highly functional dihydropyridine derivatives. It is promoted by the water extract of dragon Fruit (WED) at a temperature of (800C) . these (WED) promoted reactions are found to afford high yield for the desired products and this method is Protocol an alternative to the current procedures
