Seasonal Crop Yield Prediction in Nigeria Using Machine Learning Technique
The old methods adopted in the past by were very slow, undependable and sizable quantity of crops are damaged in fields because bacterial attacks and lack of adequate information. automating agriculture processes may likely be the solution to feed the nation in the future. Though there is still debate on its application to agriculture. The importance of food security in any society cannot be over emphasized, therefore balancing the inputs and outputs on a farm is fundamental to its success and profitability. With the increase in population index food production need to meet population growth, creating a wide gap between demand and supply of food. Data Mining is emerging research field in crop yield analysis. In the past farmers make use past yield to predict what they may likely have when farming in the current season The yield prediction is a major issue that remains to be solved based on available data. Data mining are the better choice for this purpose. Three (3) Different Data Mining techniques will be used for predicting crop yields during rainy and dry season. This research proposes and implements a system to predict crop yield from previous data. This can be done by using association rule mining on agriculture data. This research focuses on creation of a prediction model which may be used to future prediction of crop yield. It also shows that South East has the best in terms of accuracy for rainy season farming with model performance evaluation 138.9 using Decision Tree Classifier
Artificial intelligence, sports, and athlete’s performance
The artificial intelligence (AI) has big changes in the sports sector in extenuating the problem of health in sports. According to studied approaches, AI learning methods and techniques can decrease accidents during practicing sports by predicting the health situation of players before the happen of any incident in the match. Thus, players can participate and complete their matches with all security owing to AI.
In this paper, we introduce our approach that is predicting sport type adequate for athletes joining sportive organizations from their blood characteristics using PCA method. We do analyze and standardization of the dataset of players and then utilizing three types of classifiers in the generalization of dataset and do a comparison between them to conclude test training scores of the data
On Dirichlet Problem of Time-Fractional Advection-Diffusion Equation
The significant motivation behind this research article is to utilize a technique depending upon acertain variant of the integral transform (Fourier and Laplace) to investigate the basic solution for theDirichlet problem with constant boundary conditions. The time-fractional derivative one-dimensional,the equation of advection-diffusion and the Liouville-Caputo fractional derivative in a line fragment areintroduced. We also illustrate the results using graphical representation
Stance and Engagement in Participants' Response to the News of Russian War in Ukraine in Facebook Discussion
The 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine has continued for more than a year and has had a number of detrimental effects on both nations. The invasion has sparked a significant amount of discussions and arguments on social media. This study focuses on how Facebook users take diverse positions on the Russia-Ukraine war through their comments on war related news items on Facebook. 619 purposively selected readers’ comments on news items posted on four conventional news media Facebook walls constituted the data for the study. Guided by stance and engagement theory on interaction, the readers’ comments by participants were subjected to discourse analysis. Online users' opinions on the war reveal a variety of attitudes and judgment of the presidents of Russia and Ukraine. While some applaud the president of Ukraine for his valiant actions, others view him as a US puppet and consider his determination to keep the war going as detrimental to his citizens. The Russian president is in the same boat. Some believe he is "Hitler reincarnated," while others just regard him as a strong leader. Participants in the discourse used a variety of stances and engagement strategies to persuade other readers and express hope that the war will not turn out badly for either country
Alternative Assessment in L2 Writing Classes: Tunisian EFL Teachers’ Perceptions and Practices
The present study investigated the perceptions and practices of a group of Tunisian EFL writing teachers regarding alternative assessment. The objectives of the research were twofold. It first sought to explore the teachers’ conception and implementation of alternative assessment techniques. Furthermore, it attempted to identify major obstacles impeding the adoption of alternative assessment as well as propose some potential solutions to the perceived issues. In total, sixteen EFL teachers from four different universities in Tunisia took part in this research. Two data collection instruments, namely questionnaires and semi structured interviews, were used to elicit teachers’ perceptions and practices. The findings suggest that teachers exhibited favorable attitudes towards alternative assessment. Yet despite their enthusiasm towards it, the practice of alternative assessment is fairly limited compared to traditional assessment. Various obstacles were identified by the teachers including restrictive curriculum, insufficient training time constraints, class size, and students’ attitudes. Teachers highlighted the importance of adequate training and the provision of the necessary resources for better and more efficient integration of alternative assessment methods in L2 writing classes
Tenacious Displacement of Home in Mohamed Dellal’s “When the Wind of the Atlas Blows”
In its drive to valorize narrative heterogeneity and condensed contextualization, Diaspora literary criticism usually places a special accent on the need to listen to underground voices overshadowed by the leading diaspora figures located in the West. It sees that Diaspora is a state of mind that does not necessarily entail physical dislocation for writers to shake the essentialist grip of tradition and the ideological long-established dichotomies. Drawing on this theoretical premise, this article seeks to explore the subversive prospects of writing home in one example of such minority literary work. Mohamed Dellal’s “When the Wind of the Atlas Blows” is a collection of short stories, written in English, that approach the trope of home from the perspective of local diasporic subjects. The narrative positions the present collection creates implicitly question the marginalization of the postcolonial experience of diversity for those who have not indulged the privileges of international migration
Herding Behavior in Stock Market: An Empirical Study of Energy Sector of BRICS Nations
This paper attempts to study the herding behaviour of Energy sector stocks toward the Market & equal-weighted average portfolio of the sector of BRICS. This study uses Closing price data from January 1st 2017 to December 31st 2022, of all fossil fuel companies from the energy sector of BRICS for those data was available. Those Companies were removed from a sample which was listed during the study period or delisted at any time during the study period. Nine companies selected from Brazil, 11 from Russia, one from India, 33 from China & 3 from South Africa are taken as a sample in this study. CSAD by Chang et al. (2000) & CSSD by Christie and Huang (1995) methodology for analysis of the herding behaviour is used in this study. The results show the herding behaviour during the study period in some countries of BRICS using the CSSD method & CSAD. Mostly found in China
Online Customer Reviews and their Effect on the Download of Mobile Applications
This research investigated some characteristics of online reviews and their impact on the download of mobile applications. Data was collected from the Google Play store across five of the most popular app categories to provide answers to the research questions and test the hypotheses formulated for this study. A total of 12,169 reviews were provided on different apps under the top five categories, namely: education, business, music & audio, tools, and entertainment, during the study period. The results obtained from the OLS regression indicated that there is a statistically significant relationship between the length of reviews and the download of selected applications; the number of reviews provided for mobile applications and the number of downloads; the number of positive reviews and the number of downloads of the apps chosen; and lastly, the number of negative reviews and the number of downloads of the apps chosen. The overall results of the OLS-regression revealed that the adjusted R-squared value of the model is 0.712. This means that 71.2% of the variability of the dependent variable (app download) is explained by the variables considered in this study, an indication that the model is relevant to the study. Based on these findings, the study recommends that app developers incorporate features into their apps that will prompt users to provide reviews on online app marketplaces, as the number of reviews has a favorable impact on mobile app downloads
Parametric Poisson Bifurcated Autoregressive Process: Application to Worldwide, Regional, and Peculiar Countries’ of Automobile Production
This article introduces Bifurcated Autoregressive (BAR) process with two apart marginal distribution error terms of w2 and w2+1 of Poisson white noises to make it Poisson Bifurcated Autoregressive (PBAR) in a parametric setting. The statistical definition of PBAR (1) process with parameters B1 and B2 that must be |B1 | and |B2 |<1 for stationary process was spelt-out. Weighted Least Squares (WLS) parameter estimation technique was adopted and the process limiting distribution was carried-out via the combination methods of martingale process and Lindeberg’s condition. Monthly automobile production in Japan, Outside Japan, America, USA, Europe, Asia, and China that approximately tantamount to worldwide, regional, and peculiar countries’ of automobile production was subjected to the PBAR process. In conclusion, Japan automobile production possessed the highest and largest error correlation (w2 , w2+1 ) of 0.6582 (65%) with first order PBAR, with B1Y(t/2) , such that B1=0.2228 of degenerated two major divisions of automobile production of Registrations and Mini-Vehicles with descendant of different brands (models)
