The paper is an outline of history of the tool function studies in the Polish Stone Age archaeology. An experimental-traseological method of the Russian scholar S. A. Semenov has been known in archaeology for about forty years. This microscopic method of tool function identification has soon become one of the most important methods of archaeological data analysis from the oldest phases of prehistory. The paper discusses reasons of a poor reception of traseology in Poland. This lack of reflection on tool function is linked to a dominant culture-historical paradigm in Stone Age archaeology. The paper is an outline of history of the tool function studies in the Polish Stone Age archaeology. ‘Rural’ ecclesiae laicorum have remained mute witnesses of our history; they have been deserted, forgotten and frequently falling into ruin. Single-nave Romanesque churches from the territories of Poland have not been much interest for the scholars of the Middle Ages. A full monograph on such churches from Greater Poland has not been written yet. This remains in a striking opposition to analogues buildings from Western Pomerania, Silesia or the New March. The only incomplete and to a large extent outdated work on this subject is Stanisław Wiliński’s paper Granite village churches of 12th century in Greater Poland or an exiguous paper by Alicja Karłowska- Kamzowa addressing the question of their foundation. The main aim of my book is the presentation of single-nave churches from Greater Poland erected in the period between the second half of the eleventh century and the end of the thirteenth century, in their historical and settlement context. Only churches that have been subject to archeological excavations have been included. Therefore, two factors determined whether a church has been chosen and included in this study: firstly, some archeological excavations must have been carried out within it, and secondly, the church must have played a basic role as a Christianization centre for ‘rural’ areas

Discussion presented in the article is based upon analysis of glass fragments from the late La Tene oppidum. Existence of the jewellery manufacture workshop in Stare Hradisko, producing bracelets and possibly also beads of dark-blue, dark-yellow and green glass of external origin, is speculated based upon chemical composition of 5 fragments as well as morphological analysis. Further complex studies are postulated, which will facilitate unequivocal testing of the speculation about existence of glass works in StareHradisko. Analysed samples revealed presence of the soda-calcium-aluminium-silicon as well as the soda-calcium-lead-aluminium-silicon glass.Discussion presented in the article is based upon analysis of glass fragments from the late La Tene oppidum. The article presents archive pottery from the Regional Museum in Bydgoszcz coming from destroyed burials of the Iwno culture. On the basis of typological and chronological analysis, and in one case by using radiocarbon dates, as well as numerous analogies especially from the Polish lowlands, three beakers studied here were attributed to particular phases of formal periodization of this culture development. A beaker from an unknown site near Żnin is dated to phase I in the development of the Iwno culture (ca. 2400-2250 BC) while two vessels from Mycielewo, site 1, and Tarkowo to phase II (ca. 2250-2000 BC).The article presents archive pottery from the Regional Museum in Bydgoszcz coming from destroyed burials of the Iwno culture.
