La teología desde la modernidad
No full textThe article raises the fundamental hermeneutical question of the relevance and meaning of theology in the modern western paradigm, i.e. How to make Christian experience understandable to people belonging to an autonomous and emancipated (or emancipating) modernity. The argument articulates two principal issues. On the one hand, it concentrates on the genuine traits of the original experience, trying to uncover and underline the characteristics apt for a confrontation with the new situation. Thus, it develops above all the biblical concept of a God “Who creates out of love”. On the other hand, it strives to adopt autonomy with all its consequences: the autonomy of the world and that of human subjectivity. To do so, the argument reexamines two fundamental theological categories: God’s action and revelation. In this way, Latin American theology can discern in the author’s proposal a whole program for academic, cultural and social debate, which furnishes the epistemological and anthropological foundation indispensable for the dialogue between Christian faith and late modern culture.Este artículo plantea la cuestión hermenéutica fundamental para la pertinencia y el significado de la teología en la modernidad occidental, a saber: cómo hacer comprensible la experiencia cristiana a los hijos de la modernidad autónoma y emancipadora. La exposición se articula en los dos polos principales. Por un lado, se pregunta por lo genuino de la experiencia original, tratando de descubrir y subrayar aquellos rasgos capaces de afrontar la nueva situación, hablando ante todo del Dios bíblico como Quien “crea por amor”. Por otro lado, intenta asumir con todas sus consecuencias la autonomía, tanto del mundo como de la subjetividad humana, reexaminando dos categorías teológicas fundamentales: la acción de Dios y la revelación. De este modo, la teología iberoamericana encuentra en la propuesta del autor todo un programa de debate académico, cultural y social que va al fondo epistemológico y antropológico imprescindible para el diálogo entre la fe cristiana y la cultura moderna tardía

No full textGlobalisation and Postmodernity are the new challenges for the Church. It is necessary to dare a transformation of the ecclesiastical structures for a new missions’ situation. The communion’s ecclesiology, the new role of the Pope and the Episcopal collegiality offer possibilities of a revitalisation and refoundation of the Church’s structure. The promotion of the Laity and the women involvement in Church’s Life activity and Mission is also an answer to the World’s Challenge. Another Problem is the culture’s mutation, the need of another spirituality centralised at God’s experience in Life. A new creation of synthesis between faith and culture will renew Christian Capacity. The new World’s role has to deal with Justice in the World and Church of the poor People. This article offers concrete suggestions about Church’s mission and its internal Constitution.La globalización y la postmodernidad plantean un doble reto a la iglesia. Por un lado el de cambiar sus estructuras para adaptarlas a la nueva situación. Esto es posible en el marco de una eclesiología de comunión, replanteando el papel del primado y del episcopado, y promoviendo a los laicos y las mujeres en la iglesia. Por otro, surge una nueva cultura que exige otra espiritualidad, potenciar la experiencia de Dios y crear síntesis de fe-cultura. El papel mundial de la iglesia tiene que relacionarse con la justicia en el mundo desde su comprensión como iglesia de los pobres. Teología y sociedad latinoamericanas: La teología latinoamericana frente a los nuevos escenarios
No full textThis article wants to accomplish two objectives: on the one hand, it wants to contribute to the understanding of past and present features of Latin American Liberation Theology, as well as outline particularly important future tasks of this theology; on the other, it proposes to enhance dialogue and collaboration between this theological current and progressive European theology, and post-Vatican II theology in general. Toward these ends it offers a review: of Latin American socio-historical conditions in the sixties; of the way Latin American theology responded to the challenges at that time considered to be essential; of some of the most important changes which have since then occurred in the region, and of the manner in which this theological current envisions an appropriate response. Finally, the article underlines the necessity for this theology to assume the new paradigm of Latin American society in its future deliberation.El presente artículo pretende un doble objetivo: por un lado, aportar elementos para comprender el pasado y el presente de la teología de la liberación latinoamericana, así como destacar desarrollos especialmente importantes en el futuro de esta corriente teológica y; por otro, promover el diálogo y la creciente colaboración entre esta corriente teológica y la teología progresista europea y postvaticana en general. Para ello se hace una revisión: de las condiciones socio-históricas latinoamericanas a partir de la década de los sesenta, de la forma como la teología latinoamericana respondió a los retos que en su momento se consideraron torales, de algunas de las transformaciones más importantes que a partir de entonces se han dado en la región y la forma como esta corriente teológica pretende responder a ellas. Concluye afirmando la necesidad de que esta teología asuma en su desarrollo esta nueva etapa de la sociedad latinoamericana
