This same testimony, with minor changes, was presented before the Kansas Legislature, House Committee on Transportation, by Kent Selk, Driver Services Senior Manager, Kansas Department of Revenue on March 13th, 2024.Testimony in support of SB 462. "The amended language would allow qualified military drivers to waive the knowledge test when obtaining a CDL. Combined with current statutorily authorized skills test waiver, this legislation would allow a qualified driver to exchange a military license for a CDL. This legislation would help increase the pool of qualified CDL holders.

Section 2 would codify a memo to all county appraisers dated April 27, 1998. The subject of the memo was Agricultural Land Valuation. This statement from the memo speaks to its purpose, "(A)t this point in time we have generally identified four adverse influences that may not be adequately considered within the present agricultural use valuation formula." ... Each of the four adverse influences in the 1998 Agricultural Land Valuation memo has been addressed with either updated guidance (proposed or actual) or improvements to the underlying KS-SRPG. The division of property valuation will continue to work with its federal and state partners to assure that all agricultural property is valued fairly, accurately and uniformly throughout this state.
