Testimony before the Kansas Legislature, Senate Public Health & Welfare Committee, presented by Lacey Hunter, Commissioner, Survey, Certification & Credentialing, Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services.Neutral testimony concerning HB 2784 "which makes several changes to current statute regarding Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs). CCRC is a national designation for a facility type with multiple levels of care ranging from independent living to skilled nursing. ... KDADS supports adding the definition of a CCRC to the definition of the types of facilities KDADS licenses. ... The House Health & Human Services Committee amended this definition to connect the facility types with an "or" instead of an "and" which provides more realistic expectations of levels of care that can be provided by a CCRC. ... With amendments made by the House Health & Human Services Committee, KDADS is comfortable with this bill if it were to pass in its current form.
